28, 2001 - Eminem talked to News of the World's Rav Singh about his Vicodin
addiction telling him, "Yeah, I've been hooked on them but life is hard,
you know. One minute you're drinking and the next you're taking pills.
I've done most things but these are hard. They're so addictive but I'm
trying to stay sane and do my thing." Slim also denied dating his movie
co-star Brittany Murphy saying, "We have fun but we're not dating. I don't
know if I can trust anyone in a relationship."
October 26, 2001 - Barry
Koltnow of the Orange County Register talked to *NSYNC's Lance Bass about
critics reactions that *NSYNC's music is pop fluff where he turned the
tables on Eminem. Lance said, "I think our music is as real as any band
out there. Our music comes from our heart. Critics think Eminem is so real.
He's all fake. He just raps to sell records. Besides, his daughter has

October 25, 2001 - In Will
Smith's interview with the December issue of Playboy, the actor/clean rapper
says of Eminem, "He is really creative but so far over the top that it's
clearly a farce." And as for his other rivals in rap music, Smith says,
"A lot of people who have been blessed with this forum aren't really smart.
I have educated myself beyond a lot of my peers." It is unknown if the
egomaniac Fresh Prince's head was able to fit through the doorway of Playboy's
offices following the interview.

the World reports Woolworths is refusing to stock the animated Slim Shady
Show, starring Eminem, out on November 5.
October 20, 2001 - Brittany
Murphy tells the New York Post of her role as Kim, "This particular project
came along just at a point in my life where suddenly I just wanted to take
on a more realistic role." Read more.
October 20, 2001 - According
to Worldpop, Eminem's grandmother Betty Kresin is saying Debbie Mathers
is furious that she didn't get the role of herself in the Eminem film instead
of Kim Basinger. Betty says Debbie "'is mad because she wanted to play
the part."
October 19, 2001 - The Sun
reports that in addition to the case of champagne Elton got for Eminem's
29th birthday, the Stan pianist/singer bought Slim a pair of sunglasses
with the words 'F*** Off' standing up on top of the frames.
October 17, 2001 - The Calgary
Sun talked to Eminem's co-star for his upcoming film debut and Brittany
Murphy had some reassuring things to say. Murphy claims, "He's going to
be quite an amazing actor. I don't think that should come as too much of
a surprise. We've all seen how magnetic he is in his videos." And as for
his bad reputation, Murphy added, "I think he's very misunderstood."
October 16, 2001 - Launch.com
reports Eminem, celebrating his 29th birthday that actually occurs Wednesday,
joined Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock to watch the Elton John concert Saturday
at Detroit's Joe Louis Arena. Elton gave Eminem a case of champagne for
his birthday. Later, Slim continued the celebration afterwards with a party
at Pure where D12 members and Xzibit joined him.
October 14, 2001 - The Chin
Tiki on Cass Avenue closed in 1980, but now the old Polynesian-themed restaurant
and show bar will reopen in Detroit as a set for Eminem's new film.
October 13, 2001 - The Sun
reports Eminem and his onscreen lover Brittany Murphy have been flirting
outrageously on the set of his new movie. Britney plays the role of Kim
and an insider is saying of the two, "They have been having very intimate
conversations. It looked like they were working on more than just their
lines."
October 11, 2001 - In a sign
that perhaps D12 knows their days are numbered, especially without the
support of Eminem, the group played a bar mitzvah for Ethan Weisman in
the tiny suburb of West Bloomfield Township, Michigan. The guys didn't
perform because the kid's father didn't feel comfortable with the guys'
material, but they did meet with the guests, signed autographs, and took
pictures.
October 10, 2001 - Eminem's
divorce to Kim Mathers has finally been made official as Macomb County
Family Court Judge Donald G. Miller finalized the divorce agreement between
the two on Friday. Eminem will be required to pay $1,000 a week in child
support, or $52,000 a year. Read more.

/ Doggystyle / Interscope Records will release The Wash, Original Motion
Picture Soundtrack on November 6, 2001. Included on the album are new tracks

the Worlds' Rav Singh reports Eminem and Britney Spears have been meeting
in LA bars several times in the past few months and have become friends.
October 5, 2001 - Missy Elliot
won Best Hip Hop Act at the MOBO Awards last night in the UK in a contest
dominated by R&B acts. Dr Dre got Best Producer while his pupil Eminem

October 2, 2001 - According
to Dotmusic, reports are out that Kim Basinger will likely play the role
of Eminem's mother in the semi-biopic entitled 'The Untitled Detroit Project'.
Basinger is currently in talks with the director of the film, Curtis Hanson.
Hanson directed her in the Oscar winning 'LA Confidential'. Filming for
the movie begins October 18.
October 1, 2001 - News of
the World's Rav Singh reports Brittany Murphy will be Eminem's screen lover
in Slim's film-biopic. Murphy is said to be thrilled over being cast.
