26, 2003 - Launch.com caught up with The Roots' ?uestlove following the
group's performance at the Grammy Awards along with Eminem. "We just wanted
to keep it simple, you know?" ?uestlove said of the 'Lose Yourself' performance.
"I think people were pretty much expecting Eminem to do like a lot of fireworks,
or try and top the 100 clones following him in and, you know, all the hoopla
and whatever. He just wanted to do something simple, something short, something
sweet, and also we wanted to pay tribute to Jason Mizell the deceased DJ
of Run-DMC we just wanted to keep it simple."

Weekly spoke with 50 Cent who says success he gets from being under Eminem
goes both ways. ''I definitely bring a new audience to Eminem,'' says 50.
''There are some people who wouldn't listen to an Eminem record because
they're just being biased. Those people in the hood -- now they love him

February 25, 2003 - 50 Cent
was on MTV's Total Request Live on Monday. 50 says that after the huge
success of 'Get Rich or Die Tryin'', Eminem picked him up a $500,000 watch
-- though he was wearing a watch from Russell Simmons since he doesn't
want to wear such an expensive watch around. He wouldn't say which celebrity
young female he'd like to date. As for Eminem getting robbed by Norah Jones
last night at the Grammy Awards, he said, "Ah, man it's okay you if don't
want to give him the awards that's okay because we got a chest-load of
them at the house already." 50 also revealed he'd like to work with Limp
Bizkit.

caught up with 50 Cent and as usual was full of praise for Eminem. Asked
who the hottest rapper out right now was, 50 said, "Definitely Em. He’s
one of the few artists right now that are able to speak their mind and
not care what other people think. I respect that about him. I’m the same
way, I can say something and I don’t really care what someone else thinks."

Da 5'9" dubbed D-12 the worst rap group out right now... and the pal (?)
of Eminem, who collaborated on 'Rock City', is now under the gun in the
new D12 diss track. Em doesn't show up on the cut. Royce did tell AllHipHop.com
recently, "We parted ways. It happens. That’s my dog. I love him to death."

February 24, 2003 - Eminem
wore a T-shirt at the Grammy Awards for his 'Lose Yourself' performance
with the Roots saying "Free Yayo." The G-Unit member Tony Yayo was arrested
along with 50 Cent on New Year's Eve, but had to stay locked up apparently
because of a prior warrant. 50 was handing out the same "Free Yayo" t-shirts
during his recent appearance on TRL.
February 24, 2003 - Eminem
took home best rap album at the Grammy Awards on Sunday. He said upon accepting
the honor, "Yo, man. Instead of me coming out here and thanking the people
that I usually thank and whatever, because all those people who had something
to do with my album know who they are, I made me a little list of emcees
that I wanted to name off that inspired me to bring me where I am today,
you know. Because honestly, I wouldn't be here without them. So the list
goes like this, and it's not in this order, but the list is this: Run-DMC,
the Beastie Boys, LL Cool J, Kool G Rap, Master Ace, Big Daddy Cane, Dr.
Dre, everyone in N.W.A., Tupac, Jay-Z. Thank you because I learned from
all of you. Thank you."

Glassman of Glassman Automotive Group spoke with Us Weekly after Eminem
and his brother Nathan stopped by, when Slim bought him an $18,000 2003
Hyundai Sonata GLS. Glassman says Eminem "entered through a back entrace
and came in my office with Nathan. I wanted to have cars brought around
so they wouldn't have to go out and walk around in freezing temperatures
in the lot, but Marshall said he didn't mind going out. Nathan sat in a
couple cars before he said, 'I want this one.'" Eminem was also kind enough
to sign a few autographs, says Glassman.
February 23, 2003 - In the
tradition of his duet with Elton John at last year's Grammys, Eminem has
enlisted Philadelphia hip-hop group the Roots to back him up during his
live performance of 'Lose Yourself' at this year's awards ceremony, happening
Sunday.
February 23, 2003 - Reuters
reports Eminem is launching a new clothing line at Macy's. "Logic dictates
this will be a very big business," said Michael Belluomo, a spokesman for
Nesi Fashion Brands, which owns the Shady Ltd. line. Look for the clothes
in stores this summer with the launch of their fall line. Belluomo added,
"Eminem has a very big part in designing this. He's a very particular guy
when it comes to how fabrics feel and how they look." Read more.

mother Debbie Nelson tells 'Celebrity Justice' she is worried about getting
a call that someone has taken her son out, citing the "violent" and "scary"
music industry. When asked if she thinks she'll get that call she says
"I hate to say it, but yes." Debbie admits she doesn't really have a relationship
with Eminem, but says she's not giving up. Read more.

being shot and under constant threat of his life, 50 Cent tells MTV News
that the only people he fears are his bosses, Eminem and Dr. Dre. "I fear
not fitting in with Eminem and Dr. Dre," 50 explained. "That's what counts
to me. That other stuff [the threat of violence] has already been a part
of my life, none of that is new. They signed me, so I'll never be equivalent
to Eminem or Dr. Dre. If Em says I'm the future of music, then what he's

February 18, 2003 - Grammy-nominated
stars are giving a bit of themselves for the MusiCares Foundation. One
of the items is a black Fender Stratocaster was signed by Grammy Award-winning
rapper Eminem backstage at the 43rd Grammy Awards (held in Los Angeles
on February 21, 2001) after his highly publicized performance with Sir
Elton John. The guitar is signed 'Slim Shady' and sports the official 43rd
Grammy Awards logo. The item is currently bid at $500 and the auction ends

reports that in a less than lattering gesture, FBI officials have dubbed
a bank robber who has knocked off 10 banks in New Jersey "Eminem," saying

was more than happy to give his two cents on Eminem and Mariah Carey. "It's
100 percent true," 50 told 94.5's Ramiro and Pebbles. "They are two huge
stars that would secretly fly into cities to meet one another." He says
Slim has even promised him that he'd "hook him up" with Mariah. "But once

Hollywood caught up with chart topping 50 Cent where he talked about why
Eminem picked him up. "I think the reason Eminem got attached to my music
is because he sees the same things in myself as he does in himself," 50
Cent said. "My situation is a little more gunplay, a little more life threatening."

the troubles behind Eminem playing at the March 23rd Oscars is a standoff
between the rapper and organizers who insist he can't curse during his
'Lose Yourself' set. Academy bosses want Slim to modify lyrics such as,
"Tear this muthafu**n’ roof off like two dogs caged." Producer Bill Cates
said, "We won’t put anything offensive on the show."
February 16, 2003 - It's
unknown whether Eminem will perform his Oscar-nominated song 'Lose Yourself'
from '8 Mile' at the March 23 ceremony, Oscars producer Gil Cates told
the New York Post. "Eminem we're not sure about in terms of the schedule,"

and Ice-T are both launching their own clothing lines this year to appeal
to the ever-growing market for urban streetwear. The rappers join the mounting
ranks of artists such as Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Nelly and Master P — just to
name a few — who have jumped into the fashion business. "Every major music
personality I can think of is considering or has already considered an
apparel line," Todd Slater, retail analyst with investment bank Lazard

spoke with Girls Gone Wild boss Joe Francis about the Eminem hosted version
of the popular series. The $10 video features Eminem frolicking with groupies
in hotel rooms, tour buses, and backstage during last summer's Anger Management
Tour. "Em likes blondes with big breasts, so there's a lot of those," Francis
said. "A lot of stuff had to be cut. We're Girls Gone Wild, not [hard core
porn]."
February 12, 2003 - The Chicago
Sun-Times reports Eminem stopped by Lou Malnati's River North location
last Tuesday night, along with his posse, for a late dinner. Slim was in
Chicago reportedly to discuss a movie role and filled up on deep-dish deluxe
pizza. Em wore a black jacket and jeans and signed a few autographs before
leaving.

reports Eminem made a special guest appearance Sunday (February 9) at the
State Theatre in Detroit for an album party for 50 Cent, whose Get Rich
Or Die Tryin' came out last Thursday (February 6) on Eminem's Shady Records
label. Following opening sets by local rapper King Gordy, as well as Shady
labelmates Obie Trice, DJ Green Lantern, and D12, 50 Cent took the stage.

Press reports George Glassman of the Glassman Automotive Group said Eminem
came in with his 17-year-old brother and traded in a red 1995 Camaro for
a silver 2003 Hyundai Sonata GLS. With Eminem's permission, Glassman said,
the dealership posted the car on eBay. A portion of the sale price will
be donated to the Marshall Mathers Foundation, which helps troubled kids.
The car is currently bid at $12,300 on eBay, in an auction that ends February

February 10, 2003 - The Detroit
Free Press Eminem will headline what just might be the biggest rap night
in the Detroit's history: a July 12 show at Ford Field also featuring 50
Cent and Missy Elliott. Right now, it's the only U.S. concert scheduled
for Eminem in 2003. "His entire North American tour takes place at Ford
Field," said Rick Franks of Clear Channel Entertainment, which books shows
at the Palace and Pine Knob. "We look at it as the highlight of the summer."

Detroit caught up with 50 Cent before the release of 'Get Rich or Die Tryin’',
and asked him what it was like working with Eminem on his debut. "I’m starting
to figure it out. I think that what happened to Em happened so fast that
he hasn’t even really realized how big he is," 50 says. "He’s still down-to-earth
and humble, despite the fact that he can rap circles around the game. He’s
so talented sometimes it can become annoying. Plus he can’t really toot
his own horn, it makes people uneasy; but I can. The boy is No. 1. We’re
alike in a lot of ways, he speaks a lot from his life experience, otherwise
you wouldn’t know who Kim was. I do the same, it’s just a little more gunplay,

mother Debbie is quoted in the Sunday Mail on Kim Basinger playing her
in '8 Mile': "Kim's not hot enough - everyone says I'm much cuter than
her."
February 8, 2003 - The Sun
has a photo of Eminem's new home in the upmarket Oakland area of Detroit
that the rapper shelled out $6.5 million for. A source close to Slim said,
"It shows how far he’s come. Ten years ago he’d never have dreamed he’d

February 6, 2003 - A source
tells the New York Post that Eminem recently checked out a home in upscale
Carnegie Hill, but passed because it didnt have a garage and adequate security.
He checked out another New York City pad on the West Side. But Slim's manager,
Paul Rosenberg, says no way. "He lives in Michigan, and he doesnt like
big cities," declared Rosenberg.
February 6, 2003 - Globe
magazine reports that movie producers have been begging Eminem to star
in their films after the success of '8 Mile'. Since Eminem hates to read,
one producer had his script drawn up into comic book form at considerable
expense. Eminem read the 'Ground Zero' comic in one sitting - a story of
a convict serving life who is released in order to infiltrate a gang of
terrorists. Slim thought the script was too lightweight though, and passed
on the project.

members chatted with 50 Cent and asked the rapper if he and Eminem are
doing a collaboration. "We got one on my album," 50 said. "But we already
did one on the '8 Mile' Soundtrack... but the one on my album is just with
me and him. It’s called 'Patiently Waiting' I’m very excited for that record
to come out... but I don’t want to blow it and say it before you get a
