August 31, 2000 - Eminem
made it to Spin magazine's 100 Sleaziest Moments in Rock, coming in at
#17. What did Em do? During the recording of 97 Bonnie and Clyde, Eminem
lied to Kim saying he was taking Hailie to Chuck E. Cheese but instead
took her to the recording studio to watch her father rap "Here, you wanna
help Dada tie a rope around this rock? ...One, two, three, wee! ...There
goes Mama, splashing in the water ...No more fighting with dad... No more
restraining order" Spin said of the song "Eminem's use of his own baby
in an attack on his baby mama is truly repugnant."

31, 2000 - Eminem waived his preliminary exam Thursday at 37th District
Court in Warren, Michigan, on two felony weapons charges. Preliminary exams
are held to see if there is enough evidence to support a trial. His attorney
Walter Piszczatowski said afterwards "We think we're going to be able to
handle the case favorably, and we're looking forward to getting it behind
us."
August 31, 2000 - Variety
reports that Eminem is being courted by Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow
Pictures to star as a bad guy opposite Denzel Washington's good guy in
the upcoming flick "Training Day."
August 30, 2000 - Eminem's
divorce with Kim has reached a settlement where Eminem will give up physical
custody of Hailie Jade to Kim, though he'll be entitled to "liberal" parenting
time while in Michigan. In addition, he agreed to support his soon-to-be-ex-wife,
provide her with a driver, pay $20,000 in court costs and attorney fees
and reinstate her credit cards. Eminem's attorney commented "Everybody
took the high road, and everybody's got the best interest of the little
girl at heart," said Hauer. "I know that's my client's primary concern.
He wants to do what's right."

interviewed Proof from D-12 (and Em's onstage sidekick), Byron Williams
(former bodyguard), and Slim's manager Paul Rosenberg in a four part feature.

4. The most encouraging of the articles is Proof's claim that Eminem
and Kim are trying to work things out between them and he says of Eminem's
future plans "Em’s gonna do the D-12 album, a couple of movies, cut a third
album and then retire from rap."
August 30, 2000 - Eminem
will be releasing a book entitled Angry Blonde through Regan Books. The
book which will be published November 7th includes lyrics from Eminem’s
solo albums (including unreleased material), personal commentary on his
songs, 50 photos (including never-before-seen shots) and an introduction
from Eminem himself.
August 27, 2000 - thirsty.com
reports that Eminem has been asked by International peace organisation
Warchild to contribute to an all-star charity hip-hop album. James Topham,
head of communications for Warchild, told thirsty, "It would be nice to
do a hip-hop album and getting a major star like Eminem would be a real
coup."

August 26, 2000 - Despite
it's early ending, Eminem was able to receive his Music Video of the Year
award for his video " Guilty Conscience" for the Source Awards. Eminem
also won Lyricist Of The Year. The awards will be on UPN August 29th.
August 24, 2000 - Worldpop
is now countering that Byron Williams wanted $1 million for rights to his
book Shady Bizzness and Em only offered $25,000.
August 24, 2000 - Christina
Aguilera commented to MTV about the Slim Shady Please Shut Up song to MTV,
saying "I heard the song.. It's just hilarious. It's so funny. The girl
is so white, it's not even funny. I don't know who out there did this,
but it's funny and obviously it's in support of me. It's very cute, and
I appreciate that. It may be on my next record.. just kidding."
August 24, 2000 - Dandy Warhols
front man, Courtney Taylor, commented on Eminem recently saying "I think
Eminem's really great because he's obviously very bright and a completely
unorganised thinker."
August 23, 2000 - Harsh words
from Eminem's grandmother about Kim, as entertaindom.com reports she said
of her grandson's soon to be ex "Kim always wore the trousers in the marriage.
They came back here twice last year and Kim pulled his strings. Marshall
didn't have a mind of his own. Whenever he's on tour he's wondering who
Kim's going to be with. Can you imagine how it is? She's nothing. Kim used
the little girl to get to Marshall. Whenever she got upset she threatened
he'd never see her again."
August 22, 2000 - Kim Mathers
has filed a $10 million defamation lawsuit Monday against Eminem, reports
the Detroit Free Press. Her lawyer claims Eminem "threatened to...evict
her from the marital home and to leave her penniless," and cut off her
American Express card. Eminem's manager was quoted as saying "It changes
the tenor. Em's not going to be happy with that," he said. "Everybody on
our side wanted to keep things low-key and work things out amicably." Rush
& Malloy also reported on eYada that Kim is seeking sole custody of
Haile.
August 22, 2000 - Now that
Eminem's getting divorced, MTV Asia is asking visitors if Christina should
give Eminem a second chance and go on a date with him. So far, 57% have
said yes.
August 22, 2000 - Surprise
photos of Eminem's dad Marshall Mathers Sr. have sprung up in The Star,
as he tells them "I desperately want to meet him and tell him I love him."
He says Debbie tought Eminem to hate him and was moving from town to town,
making it impossible to find them, though Em's grandmother says "He's full
of it, now that my grandson's rich, his father is finally showing some
interest."

August 20, 2000 - Boy George
is seemingly flabbergasted by compliments coming from Elton John about
Eminem, saying the the Post "I am shocked to hear that Elton John has called
queer-baiting Eminem the most important voice since Bob Dylan, Cool singers
or bands hate being championed by fellow artists they consider uncool,
and Eminem will not take too kindly to being championed by one of the world's
most famous diamond-studded homosexuals."
August 20, 2000 - The New
York Daily News reports that Byron Williams was offered $25,000 by Eminem's
attorney for the rights to his book, Shady Business. Williams laughed at
the offer and plans to release the book August 31st.
August 19, 2000 - The Detroit
News has quotes from Byron Williams, Eminem's fired bodyguard on the divorce,
he tells them "I think Em got married because he was trying to do the American
Dream thing. But unfortunately sometimes it doesn't work out that way."
Kim's attorney is quoted as saying "Kim is going to seek every asset she
is entitled to -- not a penny less."
August 19, 2000 - Dido, the
artist Eminem covered on Stan with her song Stan, talked about working
on the #1 album, "I figured [Eminem's] next album would be pretty huge,"
she says. "I mean, I'd be stupid if I didn't. But it certainly didn't cross
my mind that he would be this big. It definitely helped. It means people
can identify with me on a whole different level. But it's not just the
hype. It's a whole string of things added together. Touring for as long
as I did, that was already having an effect. Add Roswell, add Eminem, and
that gives people something to talk about."
August 18, 2000 - Q Ball
from the Bloodhound Gang tells MTV Asia that he will work with both ICP
and Eminem on his forthcoming solo album, saying of the two "Those guys
get the exact same criticisms leveled at them as we do. I've been into
Insane Clown Posse since the early days and I've been in the studio while
they've been working on their new record. Working with Eminem is great
too, because we're on the same wavelength." [we're guessing they won't
be in the studio the same day!]
August 18, 2000 - More from
the Detroit Free Press is quoting Kim's attorney about the breakup, as
he says she was at first reluctant to give up on their marriage, she came
to realize "There is no reason for her to shed too many tears over a relationship
with somebody who obviously does not want her around."
August 17, 2000 - Worldpop
reports that Eminem is being sued by her mother, again, for $1 million
for his comments in Shooting Star magazine, where he referred to mom as
"strung out on prescription drugs, addicted to bingo, and always looking
to earn an easy dollar the good old American way."
August 17, 2000 - We heard
back from the Daily News that Eminem's fired bodyguard is going ahead with
plans to release his book and that his website is only temporarily down.
They also reported in the paper today comments from a friend, who said
of Eminem "They haven't been living together. When he's in Detroit, he
stops by the house to see his daughter, Hallie. But he doesn't stay there."
August 16, 2000 - Additional
Eminem divorce news coming in from the Detroit Free Press, as Marshall
will be seeking joint custody of their daughter. Em's divorce lawyer told
the paper "We're hoping for an amicable dissolution of the marriage. They're
still going to have to parent this child for the rest of their lives."
Kim's attorney told the paper "After talking with her, I think that she
recognizes that this is an opportunity to remove herself from a relationship
that has been holding her back."
August 16, 2000 - NEWS FLASH:
Eminem filed for divorce in Detroit on Wednesday. An Interscope spokesperson
told Launch.com "In early June, the couple separated, and since then Eminem
has come to the decision that a divorce is unavoidable."
August 16, 2000 - Openly
gay musician Elton John surprisingly is praising Eminem to EW, saying of
the rapper It feels like the nuclear bomb has just hit. This is really
hardcore stuff, but it's intelligent hardcore stuff - funny, clever. It's
poetry and also musically interesting."
August 16, 2000 - Fred Durst
is chiming in on Eminem, saying people outta stop whining or risk inciting
Eminem into more controversial lyrics "The more they say Eminem's stuff
is terrible, the more he's gonna make his stuff ten times worse than that,
and they're gonna want it even more."
August 16, 2000 - Seeing
that Eminem's fired bodyguard had his book due out, we decided to check
out bigwillz.iuma.com only to find the site has been shut down! We're talking

August 15, 2000 - The Enquirer's
Mike Walker reports that Eminem went into a Hollywood drugstore recently
and bought a bottle of strawberry bubble bath, a peach scented candle,
a tube of eye wrinkle cream, and two romance novels, one which he started
reading on the way out.
August 15, 2000 - Our opinion
poll asking "Should Eminem and Kim stay together?" produced results that
seem to mirror what Eminem ended up doing, ditching Kim, as 64.5% of you
thought they should call it quits, while 35.5% urged them to stay together.
August 12, 2000 - Dotmusic
reports that Eminem is separated from Kim, which was rumored to be a a
factor in her suicide attempt. This follows news that he waited all night
for a nightclub waitress to finish her shift so that he could take her
home. Also, Groupie Central's message boards are reporting that Em's been
telling his female fans he's single.
August 11, 2000 - Eminem
has rejected a $2 million settlement offer proposed by his mother which
would end the ongoing defamation lawsuit brought on by Debbie Mathers-Briggs.
Eminem is scheduled to give a deposition in the case on Sept. 13.
August 11, 2000 - The Seattle
Times is running "Will the real offensive pop star please stand up?" today,
comparing Britney and Eminem. Several are questioned about who they would

PI is profiling Em ahead of their Tacoma concert appearance next week.
They say of him "Eminem loves playing the role of spoilsport. The danger
is in taking his music too seriously." They also somewhat diss Dre by saying
"But unlike Eminem, Dre's vocal delivery is slow and his rhyming lyrics
fairly simple."
August 9, 2000 - Eminem is
in the tabloids again as this time grandma Betty Kreslin spilled her guts
to the Star. She hates her grandson's lyrics, saying "When I hear his vile
and disgusting lyrics, I can't believe this is my Marshall, the same boy
who used to come sit in my lap." She added "In just over 12 years, he's
gone from telling me 'Grandma, I love you' to 'Go to hell!'" She also tells
the Star that she's heard Em has bought his deadbeat dad a new car. She
offered this of Eminem, "We want the lovable and caring Marshall back,
we don't want the nasty, bitter filth-talking Eminem." [that would be Slim
Shady grams!]
August 9, 2000 - Eminem has
been forced to pull out of England's hugely popular Reading and Leeds Festivals
at the end of the month due to his pending court cases in Michigan. His
label announced "Eminem has had to pull out of scheduled performances at
Reading and Leeds later this month. Eminem does not have permission to
leave the U.S. due to forthcoming legal matters." His next court date is
scheduled for August 31st.

reports hotel heiress Paris Hilton recently expressed her admiration for
rapper Eminem: "No one's gonna copy him, either, 'cause he will totally
embarrass them!"
August 3, 2000 - Eminem is
featured on the cover of Vibe this month, alongside Dr. Dre. Eminem is
quoted as being Aftermath record's savior, as Mel-man puts it "You remember
Titanic?... Lucky, a helicopter came, and it was Eminem. He dropped a ladder...
and we climbed up." Eminem says of the Up In Smoke Tour "The tour is f***in
great, man. Though I can't take a sh*t without somebody standing right
in my face." Dr. Dre cautions though of Em "Like Tupac, Eminem has a lot
of energy, a lot of spirit, a lot of talent. But you just have to be careful."
August 3, 2000 - Eminem was
named in Vibe magazine's 100 Most Influential People, Places, and Things
where they said of him, "Though criticized for being a potty-mouthed rapper,
Eminem has proven he's one of the most talented MCs around."
August 2, 2000 - Worldpop
reports the woman behind the My Reply song was a Las Vegas musician named
Emily Ellis, who begged the Real Slim Shady to "please shut up."
