December 31, 2000 - Additional
details from the Enquirer on Eminem's nasty phone call with his mother.
Em's grandmother Betty Kresin says he told Debbie, "I hope you have a heart
attack and die. In fact, I'd like to see you killed in a car accident.
But then Nate [Eminem's half brother] probably would be with you and he'd
die too. And I wouldn't want that to happen." Grandma says of Eminem now,
"Maybe if he sat in jail for a while he'd have time to think about all
the cruel things he's done to his mother!"

30, 2000 - USA Today's Ken Barnes rated Eminem's Stan as the #1 Song of
2000, saying "In which this enormously clever artist stands the public
perception of him as a dubious role model on its head, in a chilling short
story in song about an unstable fan, Stan, who flips out when Eminem's
Slim Shady persona fails to respond to his stalkerlike attentions. Bonus:
the dreamy sample from Dido's Thank You that surrounds the dramatic verses."
December 30, 2000 - Rolling
Stone is giving a The Year in Weird award to Eminem's mother, Debbie Mathers
Briggs, saying light-heartedly that she "Embarrassed her sweet and loving
son Marshall by bringing the noise on a rap record. Vanilla Em was not,
shall we say, amused."
December 30, 2000 - Eminem
talked about Britney on MTV's Sex in Pop special.

December 29, 2000 - Eminem's
The Marshall Mathers LP was again recognized as album of the year, this
time based on a chart compiled by music retailers HMV and based on the
end-of-year polls in the music press. Radiohead's Kid A came in second.
December 27, 2000 - A psychic
named Morris Fonte was on TRL today talking about predictions for the new
year. He says that Eminem and Kim's reconciliation won't work out and that
Em would be doing a duet with Christina Aguilera by 2002.
December 24, 2000 - Yahoo!
Internet Life magazine named Eminem the most searched for male of the year,
while Eminem was #15 this year in the Lycos 50, tops amongst individual
males.
December 24, 2000 - Eminem
was at an Oakland County Circuit Court in Pontiac on Monday for a pretrial
hearing.
December 23, 2000 - Byron
Williams tells the New York Daily News that he's hired his own bodyguards
after receiving threats from Eminem fans unhappy with his new book, Shady
Bizzness. Byron also is wearing a bulletproof vest... He may be banking
this additional attention will kick start book sales which so far have
been slow.
December 23, 2000 - Eminem
will be appearing on Farmclub on Friday, December 29th at 11:00pm EST/PST
on USA network, and it will replay on Saturday, December 30th at Midnight
EST/PST on USA network also.

reports Eminem broke his mother's heart by telling Debbie over the phone
after she made a trip to Detroit, staying in a $37/night hotel room, "The
only thing I want for Christmas is for you to drop dead of a heart attack."
Debbie said of the incident, "I couldn't believe what he said to me. He
was so hurtful."
December 21, 2000 - Eminem's
album The Marshall Mathers LP cannot be sold to anyone under 18 years old
after New Zealand gave the album an R18 classification, according to Worldpop
reports.
December 21, 2000 - Eminem's
trial on charges of carrying a concealed weapon and brandishing a weapon
in public towards a member of ICP was set for April 23rd. Prosecutor Mark
Bilkovich says no plea bargain will be offered to Eminem in this case.
December 20, 2000 - The Sun
is reporting rumors are around saying Eminem's reps were responsible for
the death rumor sent out to help promote his single Stan, though Abstracts.net
would strongly disagree. A DSL line tracable IP is not the work of a calculated
effort.
December 19, 2000 - Additional
details have come out as it seems a problem CNN.com and MTV.com have with
allowing people to display redirected URLs made it easy for someone to
emulate their web layout and post the death story using his own IP number.
The page clarified the joke, but it appears that his ISP has shut him down,
and hopefully this idiot will face legal charges. Eminem's mother commented
on the story saying, "There's been some really sick, sick horrible stuff
being put out there on the Internet." Later adding, "I can't believe these
rumors keep on persisting."
December 18, 2000 - Eminem
was named the #3 Entertainer of the Year by Entertainment Weekly, with
top honors going to Russell Crowe. They called Eminem "the first [white
rapper] to channel, with electrifying obsessiveness, the anger and the
strut, the power-lust desperation, the proud sociopathic hardness that
has become the unholy pathic hardness that has become the unholy essence
of hip-hop."
December 18, 2000 - Eminem
has not been named Time Magazine's Man of the Year, apparently it was a
rumor. The award actually went today to George W. Bush.
December 18, 2000 - Eminem's
Stan has been named Entertainment Weekly's #1 Single of 2000. They say
of the song, "Although this detailed story-song about the dark side of
fandom could have easily been a novelty, Emine's increasingly deranged
delivery and beguiling Dido sample becomes a chilling comment on fame,
fan worship, and responsibility or lack thereof." They also put his Everlast
blast I Remember at the #9 position.
December 18, 2000 - Fans
of Eminem were shocked over the weekend to hear false reports stating that
he'd died in a car crash. The rumor started after a CNN news page was altered
to display the untrue story, which doesn't exist on the site. To check

December 17, 2000 - There's
a parody of Eminem's Stan called Stanley by the artist Jiminem. You can
find the song on Napster, though several radio stations have been playing
it as well. The song hit #1 on KNDD in Seattle.
December 17, 2000 - Eminem's
court date got pushed back again Friday as the judge ordered Marshall Mathers
to appear in court on February 13, so he can have extra time to consider
a plea bargain.
December 17, 2000 - Megastar
reports they obtained several family photographs of Eminem, Hailie, mom,
and Kim. One of the photos has Em writing "I love you mom" on the back.
Unfortunately, none of the photos appear on the online
version of the story.
December 17, 2000 - Eminem
is featured in an autographed picture auction on ebay. The photo, item
#526963102, is bid at $14.95 and ends today.
December 16, 2000 - The New
York Daily News reports Eminem's old house has a $650,000 price tag. The
home includes a Jacuzzi, a sauna and an in-ground pool.
December 16, 2000 - The New
York Post quotes Kim's lawyer, Harvey Hauer commenting on her client's
feelings towards Eminem saying, "She sees very positive things about Marshall,
and I have to respect that and take her at her word."
December 16, 2000 - Well
the official announcement date of Time's Man of the Year is Sunday, so
reports we've been getting that Eminem will be named should still be regarded
as rumor, though reports say Time justified the award saying, "Eminem's
impact has been so profound and his detractors so vitriolic that the potty
mouth from Detroit has challenged our ideas of what's acceptable."
December 16, 2000 - Music
insiders are sounding alarms over talk that Eminem will win a Grammy award
in his showdown with Madonna. Entertaindom.com reports one insider opposed
to Eminem winning stating, "If he wins there will be outrage. A Grammy
is not only the embrace of your music peers, but recognition you're one
of the industry's heroes. Eminem is one of the industry's embarrassments."
December 15, 2000 - Eminem
has been named Time Magazine's Man of the Year. Em beat out Russell Crowe
and Harry Potter for the honor.
December 15, 2000 - Eminem
and Kim Mathers have reconciled, according to the pair's lawyers. According
to a statement from the lawyers, "Mrs. Mathers is pleased that she and
her husband have been able to set their differences aside, particularly
for the sake of their daughter, Hailie Jade. Kim strongly believes that
it is best for Hailie to be raised in a two-parent home." Read more.

is featured
on Enteraindom.com's The God & Devil Show, which depict the rapper
as one of Dre's pre-programmed robots. Funny stuff.
December 13, 2000 - Eminem
is #25 in Playboy's list of The Sex Stars of 2000.
December 12, 2000 - Eminem
has topped Bob The Builder on the UK charts, causing Em to ask the Sun,
"What is it with puppets and your charts in Britain? A puppet beat me once
before and I sure wasn't going to let it happen again." Bob is an animated
kids' star. Em also talked about his critics in the UK saying, "There have
been plenty of people slagging me off and I'm looking forward to meeting
them when I tour next year."
December 11, 2000 - Rav Singh
of New of the World reports Eminem made a phone call to her mother Debbie
Mathers-Briggs recently and that the two could actually spend Christmas
together.
December 10, 2000 - Eminem
is commenting to CDNow about Kid Rock saying, "I like Kid Rock. When he
first got his deal with Atlantic, and I didn't have nothing, he came to
a couple of my shows just to show support, which was cool. And then I started
going to a few of his shows, just for the fact that I respect him as far
as being from my town and doing something. It's cool."
December 10, 2000 - Well
Eminem's mother Debbie wasn't on the Rush & Malloy show Friday, but
we hear that she will be a telephone guest on the Chaunce Hayden show on

adresses his legal problems, his fans, his daughter, and Kim in Don't Approach
Me, a cut from Xzibit's Restless which is due to hit stores Tuesday though
is currently on Napster. He raps in the single, "It's a disgrace Hailie
can't play with her toys in the front yard without you driving by honking
your horns."
December 10, 2000 - 14 year
old British singer Charlotte Church is responding to Eminem's attacks on
Christina Aguilera saying, "Poor Christina. If he would have said that
about me I would have gone up to him and punched him on the nose."
December 10, 2000 - Eminem's
court date that was scheduled for Friday has been postponed until this
coming Friday at 1:30 PM EST.
December 9, 2000 - MTVasia
reports the Beastie Boys Ad Rock's comments on Eminem, where he says of
his peer, "People place a lot of importance on what he says and give him
a lot of s**t for what he says, but you've got to blame society. You can't
take all the blame off him, but you've also got to put the blame on a society
that, in America at least, raises boys to be sexist, to be homophobic,
to be knuckleheads -- that's the American way."
December 9, 2000 - Christina
Aguilera commented on Eminem's video Stan when she hosted TRL Friday by
saying and e-moting, "We're gonna move into the #9 video and um (pauses)
Gee, (sarcastically, grinning) it's Eminem with Stan. Eminem had a huge
year and recently was named artist of the year by Spin magazine...gosh,
good for him (sarcastically). Today, Slim Shady is down three spots...awww,
he's down three spots ya'll (crowd goes awww, she laughs)...on the the
countdown. On #9 it's Eminem with Stan. Very talented artist (rolls eyes,
tongue touches lips)."

younger brother Nathan is setting up to be a hip hop star according to
reports yesterday from The Sun.
December 6, 2000 - AJ McLean
is courting Eminem to do a duet, according to Entertaindom.com. McLean
says his alter ego band Johnny No-Name would be a more realistic pairing,
"Johnny could pull it off. I couldn't, but Johnny could. Johnny has anger
built up inside him as well. A.J.? Nah. I'd be like, 'Hell no!' I think
it could work, if he would let it work. I could say 'til I'm blue in the
face, 'Yo man, I wanna do a duet with you but not as a Backstreet Boy.
I wanna do it with a Limp Bizkit kind of vibe.' He'd probably say yes,
probably, maybe not -- but you know what? Next time I see him I'm gonna
ask him."

seems to be an orchestrated effort going on to help push Stan to the #1

to humiliate her, as our message boards attest.

Behind the Music That Sucks features an animated comedic look at Eminem
which focuses on Dr. Dre and even an appearance by Kurt Loder.

Williams was on KNDD in Seattle this morning talking about Shady Bizness.
His tone seemed much different today, more of a sales pitch for the book
than ever, probably because by his admission he's only sold 2,000 copies...
Maybe he should've taken that $25,000.
December 2, 2000 - Eminem's
song I Remember, directed at Everlast, is available for listening at KNDD,
along with Everlast's song, Whitey's Revenge.
December 2, 2000 - The New
York Post was at the Everlast show in New York and reported that Everlast
taunted Em by holding up his guitar and saying, "This is my gun." Everlast
also dedicated Jump Around to Eminem because because that "was the song
that probably made him want to be a rapper in the first place."
