28, 2002 - Enrique Iglesias recorded a clip backstage at the Rosemont on
Monday for Eddie & Jobo of B96 Chicago. Enrique addressed the 9.11
aspects of 'Hero', he said the only time he gets 'that kind of play' with
celebrity girls is when he uses them in his videos, his revealed his love

March 27, 2002 - John Young
of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette was at Monday night's Enrique Iglesias concert
held at Benedum Center. Young said Enrique had to do "little more than
look good while crooning hits from his two English language albums." John
added, "His music might consist of sing-song pop and arena rock retreads,
and his show might be more of a runway exercise than a bona fide concert,
but Iglesias has followed his bliss into very lucrative territory." Read

March 24, 2002 - A fan on
Enrique Iglesias' official site message board posted an article from AXM
magazine where Enrique was quizzed on several issues and spoke frank and
uncensored. When asked what the most outrageous misinterpretation about
him was, Enrique said, "They said I was a virgin once and that did bother
me." Enrique says he also has an new Spanish album finished that has completely
new songs saying, "It's musically different but it's what I think falls

Freedberg of the Boston Phoenix gave his thoughts on Enrique Iglesias and
his latest album 'Hero'. Freedberg wrote, "The music is supple, and Enrique’s
voice is sensuous. It's a hefty voice but a nimble one — dreamy, even,

March 21, 2002 - The Sun
reports Anna Kournikova has taken to disguising herself by wearing a black
wig when she's out with Enrique Iglesias. An onlooker who spotted her in
the get-up with Enrique in Toronto said, "It was a ridiculous get-up. Everyone
recognised her."
March 20, 2002 - A
representative for Enrique Iglesias management confirmed a second Toronto
show yesterday which will be free for the 2,200 people in balcony seats
for his show last Monday. Some of the fans at that show weren't able to
hear the singer because of some areas of the venue not being properly fed
sound. Peter Katsis, The Firm's senior vice-president of music said, "Once
Enrique Iglesias was made aware that there was sound concerns he decided
he wanted to book a return show and offer the people who sat in the balcony
free tickets at a lower level." The show will be sometime in September.

fan on Enrique Iglesias' official site message board is sharing her close
experience with the singer at his concert in Philadelphia on Sunday. jerziegirl
wrote, "I am still in a dream-like state over last night. I was in the
front row and it was definitely the best concert experience EVER! Enrique
touched my hand twice, sang to me, smiled at me... it was awesome. He sounded
great, the band was great, the crowd was cool." Read more.
March 16, 2002 - The Enquirer's
Mike Walker reports AJ McLean of the Backstreet Boys was seen at
a club with a drink in his hand. A fan, who knew he'd just gotten out of
rehab, approached him and asked him what he was doing. He said it was a
non-alcoholic drink and let the fan sniff it to show it wasn't alcoholic.
March 16, 2002 - Yes, there
is yet another Backstreet Boys breakup rumor in the lastest Star magazine.
An insider told the tabloid, "It's a shame with all their talent, but the
guys are facing oblivion. All the bickering, tension, and fighting has
not only torn them apart, it's crushed any hope of mounting a comeback
against their biggest rival, *NSYNC. Even worse, it has destroyed the key
'buddy factor' within the group. All they do now is butt heads." Again
Nick Carter's rebel move to sign on as a solo artist with The Firm after
the rest of the group fired the management company is listed high on reasons
for tension, what the insider called the "last straw."
March 15, 2002 - Enrique
Iglesias called in to MTV's Total Request Live on Thursday and talked about
the TRL success of Escape saying, "I didn't expect it to do that good so
i'm very happy." As for what he thinks made it such a big hit, Enrique
explained, "I think it is a mix of many different things you know, Anna
being in it, it is a cool song and a song I think kids can relate to and
the beat is pretty contagious."
March 15, 2002 - According
to numerous reports on Enrique Iglesias' official site message board, Enrique's
grandmother and the mother of Julio Iglesias, Doña Rosario de la
Cueva died today at 82 years old in her Coral Gables home in Miami. She
had been very sick for the past three months. Read more.

March 13, 2002 - Apparently
on KISS 92 in Toronto, fans were calling in to complain about the horrible
sound quality at the Enrique Iglesias concert last night at the Air Canada
Center. Many attending the show and paying $60-80 a ticket weren't pleased
and many booed the hard to hear performance. The blame apparently is being
cast on Enrique's crew, who were in charge of the sound stage. Hopefully
things can get fixed up before tonight's show at the Molson Theater in
Montreal.
March 13, 2002 - Jane Stevenson
of the Toronto Sun was at Monday's Enrique Iglesias concert at the Air
Canada Centre in Toronto where the Latin pop star performed before a crowd
of 5,000... Almost all women, and one of those being his girlfriend Anna
Kournikova. Jane said, "The sound was a definite problem, especially in
the higher reaches of the ACC with a crowd to my right screaming in unison:
'We can't hear you!' several times. But, honestly, it didn't seem to matter
that much what Iglesias -- a walking Calvin Klein ad --was actually saying

March 7, 2002 - The Sun reports
Enrique Iglesias had to deal with his microphone not working for 15 minutes
before he was able to perform his latest single, 'Escape' at the World
Music Awards in Monte Carlo. Enrique showed thanks to the UK by wearing

the big winner at the World Music Awards in Monaco on Wednesday. The top
selling singer got awards for ’Best-Selling British Artist’, ’Best Pop
Female’, and ’Best Adult Contemporary’. Other winners included Enrique
Iglesias, who was named ’Best-Selling Male Latin Star’ and ’Best-Selling
Pop Male’, while Kylie Minogue was named ’Best-Selling Australian Artist.’

March 5, 2002 - Enrique Iglesias
performed at the Irish Music Awards in Dublin on Sunday but was in and
out of the city before heading off to Monaco for the World Music Awards.
Enrique did have time to chat with ShowbizIreland.com where he told them
after jumping from the stage to sing amongst the fans, "When I got off
the stage I didn't realise it was so high, so I had to wait till the song
was over to jump back up, I didn't want to make a fool of myself." Amongst
the winners at the show were Westlife, Samantha Mumba, and Robbie Williams.

March 1, 2002 - According
to a press release posted on Enrique Iglesias' message board by a moderator,
the singer's flight had to be diverted from a flight headed to Italy and
land back in the U.S. for engine repairs in Savannah, Georgia. Because
of the problems, Enrique was forced to cancel an appearance on an Italian
television show. The plane has since been fixed so Iglesias can make a
scheduled performance in Leipzig, Germany. Read more.
