April 30, 2002 - The Express reports Anna Kournikova is being mum on whether her and 'Escape' co-star Enrique Iglesias are a couple. While Enrique has repeatedly denied the reports, Anna offered, "We made a video together, which has done really well, but that's all I want to say."

April 29, 2002 - The New York Post reports Jay-Z was spotted cursing at the doorman at Crobar in Miami for making him wait for a VIP bracelet, and then stomping off with lovebirds Enrique Iglesias and Anna Kournikova.

April 26, 2002 - Ellen K reports on Dees Sleaze today that the photos of Anna Kournikova nude are actually topless photos taken of the tennis star on Miami beach, and she wasn't with Enrique Iglesias at the time. The photographer reportedly is claiming that Anna knew she was being photographed and took off her bikini top anyways. April 26, 2002 - Enrique Iglesias' father Julio spoke with Avid Yonke of the Toledo Blade who addressed his thoughts on Latin music. Julio says, "Latin music for me is cha cha cha, tango, mambo. Latin music for me is Tito Puento, Jorge Gilberto. Ask your mother or father what Latin music is and they will say salsa, cha cha cha." He later added, "I cannot say that Enrique is a Latin artist, he’s a universal artist. Ricky Martin, same thing. Enrique, Ricky, Christina [Aguilera], or Jennifer [Lopez] - they have Latino blood but their music is really Anglo-Saxon. They have some Latin rhythms but their language is English." Read more.

April 25, 2002 - Rebecca Eckler of the National Post spoke on the phone with Julio Iglesias who was flying to the Dominican Republic at the time. Julio immediately began to flirt with Rebecca and when she joked that at 28 she's too old for him, the older Iglesias responded, "You've interviewed my son right?" After she said yes, Julio advised, "You should marry my son. You like him? He's a good-looking guy." And of his son's savvy music video pairings with Anna Kournikova and Jennifer Love Hewitt, he said, "Yes, my son is also a very clever man. Very sweet and very clever." Read more.

April 23, 2002 - Jeff Spevak of the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle profiled the similarities between Enrique Iglesias and his father Julio. In addition he writes, "Move over. Maybe. By the way, there is another Iglesias. Julio Jr. is probably better known as the host of the Travel Channel's Latin-oriented shows. But Enrique's younger brother also has a multimillion dollar record deal, though he doesn't have any hit records: That nut has yet to hit the ground." Read more.

April 23, 2002 - Enrique Iglesias checked in with fans on MTV's Total Request Live on Monday as his video 'Escape' was being retired. April 22, 2002 - The New York Daily News reports Enrique Iglesias is set to be fuming after Anna Kournikova was snapped by a paparazzo using a long distance lense. It is unclear at this point whether Enrique was snapped in the shots as well. The photos will be in the June issue of Penthouse magazine. Read more.

April 20, 2002 - The Globe reports Enrique Iglesias has offered to help his tennis babe girlfriend Anna Kournikova with her weight training. Anna is determined to put on muscle like Serena Williams and Jennifer Capriati, which she hopes will put more power in her tennis game. An insider said, "Anna decided that she has to have more power to handle girls who are built more like guys." Anna's motivation also is helped by her recent luck in love. "For the first time in a very long time, she's madly in love," says a source. "Enrique wants to see her as a winner - and she's determined to make him happy."

April 19, 2002 - Enrique Iglesias was on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Thursday where he performed 'Escape' and spoke briefly with Jay Leno afterwards. Enrique gave his now standard line that he isn't dating Anna Kournikova, but that he'd love to date her. Before he could speak though, he needed a drink of water, but most of it dribbled into his lap which got a big giggle from the crowd. April 19, 2002 - Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez, Enrique Iglesias, Ricky Martin, Shakira, and Myra are amongst the nominees in this year's American Latino Media Arts (ALMA) Awards. The awards will be televised on June 1st from 8-10pm on ABC. Read more.

It was great to see so many of you on the 'One Night Stand' US tour. Your support means so much to me. You guys are the best fans ever! I just finished filming 2 new videos in LA. 'Don't Turn Off The Lights' for the US and 'Love to See You Cry' for international. 'Don't Turn Off The Lights' is very different from all my other videos but I think you guys are going to like it. I'm looking forward to performing on the Tonight Show tomorrow. Then it's time to get ready to leave for my European tour that's starting April 26. I hope to see some of you there."

April 16, 2002 - The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Enrique Iglesias was spotted with his tennis babe Anna Kournikova enjoying a romantic dinner at Bluepointe in Buckhead. Enrique dined on the foie gras (a pate made from goose liver - marinated in cognac - and truffles for us less sophisticated types!) appetizer while Anna had the crab spring rolls to star out with, and both then enjoyed lobster for main course.

April 16, 2002 - Last Friday Enriquepromotion.com reported that Enrique Iglesias was planning on filming two videos over the weekend. One for Europe and one for the US. 'Love to See You Cry' will be the single for Europe and 'Don't Turn Out The Lights' will be the US single.

April 16, 2002 - Launch.com spoke with Ja Rule and word is that the rapper recently penned an untitled duet for City High's Claudette Ortiz and Enrique Iglesias.

April 14, 2002 - The Factor with Bill O'Reilly had a rather negative story about the lack of promotional work artists such as Mariah Carey, Enrique Iglesias, Faith Hill, and others did (or didn't do) for the 'America: A Tribute To Heroes' CD that has only sold 600,000 copies to date. O'Reilly blasted, "Doing good is a long-term strategy. You can't do a project and let it go. You have to see it through to the end. If these pop stars really wanted to make a difference, they would have promoted the heck out of that recording on their own time and dime. The media loves these people. Getting attention is no problem. But, no, the project failed and it shouldn't have."

April 10, 2002 - The New York Post reports Enrique Iglesias was spotted canoodling with girlfriend Anna Kournikova at Michael Capponi's birthday bash at Pierre Bennati's posh waterfront villa in South Beach.

April 10, 2002 - Lee Nessel of Florida Today wrote today about her days at the University of Miami when Enrique Iglesias attended. Nessel wrote, "He was just another student, always wearing a simple white T-shirt, long hair tucked behind his ears. But what magic he exuded! Something I've only experienced once before, when a certain older boy in high school would walk past me. I felt that same silly nervousness. That boy went on to become a New York City runway model. April 10, 2002 - Lee Nessel of Florida Today profiled Enrique Iglesias show in Melbourne's King Center, the only show he'll do in Central Florida. Fans were shocked he'd play there but Steve Janicki, executive director of the King Center and promoter of Iglesias' show in Melbourne said, "It's a Central Florida exclusive, and that's the only way I'd do the show. As far as popularity and the number of songs he has on the charts and being so close to breaking superstardom, it's pretty hot. It's very exciting for Brevard and for the King Center." Read more.

April 9, 2002 - Richard L. Eldredge of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution was at Enrique Iglesias' performance at the newly renovated Chastain Park Amphitheater on Saturday night. The first performance since the renovation had Enrique at one point saying to the crowd seated at tables with candles and wine bottles, "I feel like I'm playing at a wedding." Enrique realized the potential for the comment to be taken as an insult and added, "but in a good way." As for girlfriend Anna Kournikova, she was in attendance, watching from backstage. Read more.

April 9, 2002 - Detroit's 93.1 WDRQ has photos of their Enrique Iglesias pre concert party before his show at the Fox Theater on March 20. Fans registered for front row tickets and a chance to meet Enrique. Included in the photos are two luckily attendees that got to meet Enrique, one of whom got their belly signed by the singer. April 8, 2002 - Searches for Enrique Iglesias continue to skyrocket on pay-per search engine Overture.com during the month of February, and again show how difficult a time fans have spelling the singer's name. 'Enrique Iglesias' was searched for 94,571 times, though accounting for all misspelling would have him likely near twice that level. The most searched for song was 'Hero', while many searched for Enrique and current girlfriend Anna Kournikova. The most common misspelling of the singer's name was Enrique Inglesias. April 8, 2002 - The New York Daily News reports Enrique Iglesias and his latest love Anna Kournikova were spotted getting cuddly recently at South Beach's Mynt Ultra Lounge.

April 6, 2002 - MuchMusic’s Rick Campanelli spoke with Enrique Iglesias in Chicago recently, where he talked about the passion that exists in his life and music. "I am a passionate person I think when it comes down to things that I like or I love. When it comes to people I love, like my family and friends, I can smile a lot or cry a lot, it all depends," Enrique said. "But I think that passion goes into my music, for me it’s an escape. Whenever I feel depressed or happy I pick up a pen and paper and begin to write."

April 5, 2002 - MTV News spoke with Ashanti following the release of her self titled debut Tuesday. Word has it that Enrique is looking to get help from the singer who's turned her collaborations into smash hits, "That's one of the names," she said, smiling. "Hopefully that will go down. She'll need it, as her play of late has been so bad, execs at Adidas have threatened to terminate their big bucks sponsorship with Kournikova.

April 4, 2002 - James Sullivan of the San Francisco Chronicle was at Enrique Iglesias' sold out show Monday at Oakland's sold-out Paramount Theatre. Sullivan wrote, "The set was designed for fashion, with a video screen angled to one side and the other dominated by three jagged fixtures outfitted with bright bulbs, like pieces of a giant vanity." April 3, 2002 - Laura Emerick of the Chicago Sun Times was at last Tuesday's Enrique Iglesias concert at the Rosemont Theatre where she said, "Iglesias reigned Tuesday night like the crown prince of Latin pop that he is." Emerick adds, "Tuesday's show triggered pangs of nostalgia for the early Enrique of 'Experiencia Religiosa' and 'Enamorado Por Primera Vez.'
