spoke with 'The Insider' about his deal as the spokesperson for Tommy Hilfiger's
fragrance, True Star Men. "I wanted to be involved from the beginning to
the end," he said during a break from shooting a provocative 30-second
commercial for the cologne. "The commercial, the advertising, the print
campaign and, especially the fragrance, what it was going to smell like.
I wanted to make sure that if I was going to wear it, I would enjoy it."

may have to polish up his sales pitch for his True Star Men fragrance in
collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger. When Ben Widdicombe of The New York
Daily News asked the crooner what scent he used to wear on dates, Iglesias
responded, "When I was 14 or 15, I wore Escape." Asked if it worked,
he responded, "Definitely not. I never got laid, actually." As for what
did work for him, instead of suggesting the True Star scent would do the
trick, Iglesias said, "Having a hit record worked."
