Monica Monteiro, her South American manager who discovered the model 12 years ago and has helped nurture her career since then, is  shocked  by the decision, according to Jeannette Walls of MSNBC.com's source.

January 18, 2006 - Gisele Bundchen has dropped her talk of quitting modeling. "I don't speak about retirement anymore because it changes all the time," she told Folha de Sao Paulo, according to Jeannette Walls of MSNBC.com. "The moment I don't feel I don't have any challenge as a model anymore I'll stop. Models such as Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell are working beyond their 30s. I don't know if I'll get that far, but I can't say I won't be like them."
