August 31, 2001 - The New York Daily News reports Jennifer Lopez will be in Puerto Rico next month to film her NBC special which airs in November.

August 31, 2001 - Ja Rule talked about Jennifer Lopez with MTV telling them, "She's mad cool. She goes in, knocks the sh-- out, no problem. I love artists like that." He says his work with J. Lo isn't finished, as he's working on a remix for Ain't It Funny saying, "It's gonna put her in another zone. After this one, they gonna be expecting hot crossover R&B joints from J. Lo. August 30, 2001 - Bill Zwecker of the Chicago Sun Times reports Jennifer Lopez got a director for Tick Tock after director Danny Boyle backed out of the assignment earlier this year. Stephen Norrington, who directed Blade (Wesley Snipes), will now take the helm.

August 30, 2001 - SoundScan figures for the week show *NSYNC's Celebrity continue lower as rock and R&B acts litter the top 10, including Maxwell in the #1 position with Now. *NSYNC sold 138,555 albums for the week putting them in the #5 position, down from #3 last week. Jennifer Lopez rounded out the top 10 selling 91,657 records for the week.

August 25, 2001 - The Enquirer's Mike Walker reports Jennifer Lopez bought her boyfriend a $100,000 Mercedes-Benz because she didn't want him driving her favorite Jaguar.

August 25, 2001 - Bill Zwecker of the Chicago Sun Times says there were 100 pals at Jennifer and Cris Judd's engagement party at Morton's. Zwecker also hears Cris' personality is said to resemble the name of his hometown: Niceville, Florida.

August 25, 2001 - Entertainment Tonight talked to President and CEO of the Recording Academy, Michael Greene, who hinted J.Lo may be at the Latin Grammys following the move from Miami to Los Angeles, backing up earlier reports.

August 24, 2001 - Peoplenews.com reports Jennifer Lopez's hairstylist and friend, Oribe has divulged J.Lo and Cris Judd plan on a wedding September 15th. Read more.

August 23, 2001 - The Star reports Jennifer Lopez is pressuring Cris Judd to find other work instead of being her dancer as she worries the two are spending too much time together which might strain their romance.

August 22, 2001 - The New York Daily News reports the gag video Jennifer Lopez was going to spring on fiance Cris Judd was never shown as she decided against it.

August 22, 2001 - More details on the planted story about Julia Roberts dining with Jennifer Lopez  as the New York Post reports it appears Elaine Goldsmith Thomas, Julia's former ICM agent, planted the story. An insider speculated, "She wanted to make herself look like a big macher."

August 22, 2001 - Following the Latin Grammy's decision to move from Miami to Los Angeles because of threats from Cuban Americans upset that Cuban nationals would participate in the show, Jennifer Lopez is reportedly considering making an appearance at the show.

August 21, 2001 - The New York Daily News reports Jennifer Lopez may make a Krav Maga exercise routine on video after learning the Israeli martial art.

August 21, 2001 - MSNBC's Jeannette Walls included a guide to the 20 rules of celebrity dating which included takes on Jennifer Lopez, Pamela Anderson, Angelina Jolie, and Britney Spears. August 21, 2001 - Peoplenews.com reports Jennifer Lopez made a spoof film on Cris Judd that was made  by British director Michael Apted and shown to the 200 guests at Morton's. Read more.

August 21, 2001 - Entertainment Tonight was outside Morton's this weekend for Jennifer and Cris' engagement party. They report guests wrapped up the evening doing a Soul Train like dance off, while Jennifer and Cris left Morton's at 2 am as a huge gathering of fans and press were cheering her on outside. Jennifer waved to her fans before getting in her limo.

August 20, 2001 - The Sun reports Jennifer Lopez and Cris Judd confirmed their engagament with a party at LA restaurant Morton's at the weekend.

August 19, 2001 - The Enquirer has a photo of J.Lo's engagement party invitation at Morton's which took place last night starting at 8 PM. They report her pregnancy scare caused them to marry sooner rather than later. The tabloid also reports Puffy was in "disbelief" according to an insider who said, "He said, 'They just met!'"

August 19, 2001 - The Globe reports Jennifer Lopez was spotted at Neiman Marcus in Honolulu but she denied when asked that she was J. Lo... But later, when she bought two blouses, she showed her credit card that indeed showed it was her.

August 17, 2001 - A unnamed source close to Jennifer Lopez tells the Chicago Sun Times' Bill Zwecker, "I do believe this is true love [between Lopez and Judd], but what's the hurry? They haven't even been dating for a year." Read more.

August 11, 2001 - Flo Anthony reports Puffy and Jennifer Lopez were recently seen dining at Mr. Chow. Both were discussing upcoming marriages hers to Cris Judd and his to Kim Porter. She did say the two did engage in a "tad bit of canoodling." Flo adds Jennifer and Cris are planning an engagement party on August 18 at Morton's in Beverly Hills.

August 10, 2001 - IMDB reports Jennifer Lopez admits she struggled during her relationship with Puffy because he liked to party and she didn't. Lopez admits, "I don't drink, I don't like the taste. And I've never done drugs."

August 10, 2001 - Mariah Carey took a mild shot at Jennifer Lopez when Allure magazine told her J.Lo says she needs 8 hours of beauty sleep, "Oooh, that just p----- me off. Right now I've just signed this big deal that everybody's watching. I don't have time to relax. Eight hours, that's like a joke! I wish I could [sleep] for my voice. Not for my pores!"

August 5, 2001 - US Weekly reports Jennifer Lopez is close to a deal that would have Macy's promoting a new junior sportswear collection by J.Lo.

August 4, 2001 - The Globe's Charlene Tilton reports Jennifer Lopez was in ultra diva mode during a visit to Dolce & Gabbana in Beverly Hills. Lopez took 5 with her to the shop and when she was asked, "May I help you?" Lopez snapped, "Ask her not to speak to me directly." When another attempted to suggest an outfit, she replied, "I don't need you. I have my own stylist." When Jen finally picked a $40k coat, she begged for a discount but because of her rudeness, they said no way.

August 3, 2001 - Popbitch.com reports a former party organiser for Puff Daddy is claiming he hid exotic dancers and masseurs in the cellar of Puffy's house whenever Jennifer arrived at his home. Within moments after she left, the women were brought back out of the cellar.

August 2, 2001 - Worldpop reports Jennifer Lopez and Puffy are both set to unveil their new fashion lines at next February's New York fashion show, where rumor has it Lopez is ready to steal the spotlight by taking to the runway as a model for her own collection.

August 2, 2001 - Ojani Noa apparently has sold out Jennifer Lopez to the Star as he reveals the most intimate details of the relationship.
