with strippers in Canada. The tabloid alleges that Affleck carried on with

Jennifer Lopez spoke out on the negative publicity surrounding her new
film 'Gigli' with fiance Ben Affleck at the film's Hollywood premiere.
"I believe that this is a good movie," Lopez said. "I know we did great
work on it. I'm proud of Ben in the movie, I'm proud of the stuff I did,
I think there is some great writing and really funny stuff. I just hope
that everybody comes out to enjoy it because it's a lot of fun to watch."
Her fiance added, "The movie will always have a certain kind of significance
for me, regardless of the usual concerns you have about a movie - if it

check it out the first weekend, 'Gigli' probably will have a drop-off in
audience that rivals 'The Hulk' 70 percent then go to video. And with the
release next spring of Kevin Smith's 'Jersey Girl,' in which they also
co-star, we can have this little conversation all over again." Read more.

July 11, 2003 - The New York
Post reports that while Jennifer Lopez is blaming her former manager Benny
Medina for costing her the cover of Vogue, in fact it was Vogue editrix
Anna Wintour who decided J.Lo was too low-class. "Jennifer was styled by
all of their top stylists. They brought the clothes, did her hair, everything,"
said an insider. "She was supposed to be 'The Millennium Girl' and it was
going to be huge. But then nothing happened. Benny called Anna's office
and she didn't call him back, because she had decided Jennifer 'wasn't
Vogue material.' " Vogue rep Patrick O'Connell says the scrapped '99 cover
did happen, but things have changed since then. "From the beginning, we
always said it was a cover try and that it might not work out," he said.
"As it happened, the sitting didn't come together and we weren't able to
run the pictures. It was no fault of anyone's, the pictures just didn't
work." Meanwhile, it appears Medina and J.Lo are "on the verge of a settlement"
in their bitter legal fued after his firing. Read more.

July 6, 2003 - The war of
words between Jennifer Lopez's attorney Barry Hirsch and her fired manager
Benny Medina have continued. Benny said of J.Lo to Entertainment Tonight:
"Jennifer Lopez, by making false allegations against me, is now trying
to add me to the long list of people whom she has used and discarded after
she took from them all she could get. She will not succeed in taking from
me the money, which I earned by working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week,
365 days to make her a star. I look forward to the opportunity to have
the world come to know the real Jennifer Lopez. I will defend myself against
these lies and will collect from her every dollar for which I am owed.
Others have stepped back in the face of her threats, I will march forward."

Daily News reports that the relationship between Jennifer Lopez and former
manager Benny Medina continues to deteriorate as yesterday Medina was served
with legal papers while he watched 'Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.'
Medina said, "I took the afternoon to watch 'T3' not knowing I was going
to be terminated." The lawsuit accuses him of siphoning $100,000 from Lopez's
earnings for his personal use and seeks payback - with 10% interest. "A
$100,000 amount would be a drop in the bucket to the amount of money she
grossed," said Medina, who called the accusations "untrue and offensive."

to the New York Post, things have gotten ugly after Jennifer Lopez fired
longtime manager Benny Medina, and of course the issue is money. "Benny
always did Jennifer's contracts and, as every manager does, got a percentage
of the profits," said an insider. Medina is said to be reaping up to 20
percent of Lopez's take, including her film fees and revenue from her Glow
fragrance and J.Lo clothing line. "Jennifer is furious," the source said.
"She has been calling Benny every day, saying she won't pay him one more
dime. But everything is legal and above board. Benny told her if she stopped

July 1, 2003 - WENN reports
Jennifer Lopez missed out on watching 'Matrix Reloaded' in a Georgia cinema
after popcorn cracked her teeth. J.Lo was left sobbing in pain in the cinema
while her fiance Ben Affleck tried to comfort her. "It had been a dull
pain for a while, but right then it just kind of kicked into high gear,"
she remarked. "I think I bit down wrong on a piece of popcorn. It was like
a knife in my brain. I just started crying right there in the movie theatre.
I pulled my hat way down and Ben was like, 'What's wrong?' I'm like, 'I
can't take it. It hurts too much.' So I had a root canal. Tell people you
had a root canal and everybody feels sorry for you."
