"Even though Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez are so different, they both
got one thing in common; They need help! These two can’t leave without
constant public attention. They will even stoop as low as using holy matrimony
to get their fifteen minutes of fame. I find this kind of behavior immoral
and disrespectful. They have no shame or dignity. These two have pulled
every stunt in the book to put themselves in spotlight; From bazaar weddings
to lesbian kissing to masturbation on stage, it seems there’s nothing these
two won’t do for attention." Read more.

June 17, 2004 - The Chicago
Sun-Times reports that despite claims that a 60-day waiting period was
required for divorces in the Dominican Republic, top Chicago divorce attorney
Herbert A. Glieberman revealed "only one of the litigants need be present''
and "that person can depart [the Dominican Republic] any time after noon
on the day of their appearance in court. After a 24-hour waiting period,

June 14, 2004 - The Chicago
Sun-Times has new details on the Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony marriage
running into trouble after his so-called "quickie" divorce from former
Miss Universe Dayanara Torres last Tuesday because of a 60-day waiting
period for divorces under Dominican law. Attorney Ron Anteau, a well-known
Beverly Hills divorce expert, told this column Thursday "California will
honor a divorce ... if it meets the circumstances of all parties involved
and the law." But Anteau added a key "kicker": If Dominican law indeed
includes a 60-day waiting period, "Anthony wasn't divorced when he married
[Lopez], potentially making him guilty of bigamy ... It could make the
marriage null and void ... indeed a very twisted plot out here in La-La
Land." Read more.
June 14, 2004 - lopez_lover
writes "The marriage of Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony may not be valid,
it has been revealed. The couple tied the knot in a hush-hush ceremony
at J.Lo's Beverly Hills home after Anthony dashed down to the Dominican
Republic for a quickie divorce. Anthony flew into Santo Domingo himself
to get the divorce finalized in just three days. But now the US State Department
has cast doubts and thrown mystery over the couple's marriage after Anthony
and Lopez exchanged I Dos just four days after he got the quickie divorce.
A document from the US Embassy in the Dominican Republic says that such
quickie divorces have 'no validity' for 60 days. And that would mean that
Anthony and Lopez jumped the gun by 56 days - and that their wedding may
not official. The document (see
scans) reveals that once the divorce judgment has been recorded there
has to be a 60-day waiting period during which it may be appealed by either
party. Only after that period - and after the judgment is published in
a local newspaper - are the parties single."
June 14, 2004 - The New York
Post reports not only did Jennifer Lopez skip her Moscow store opening
last weekend, she also stood up 450 orphans and Russian President Vladimir
Putin. Lopez's no-show — and her manager Simon Fields' denial that she
was ever going to show up in the first place — has left the Russians fuming.
Melanie A. Bonvicino, a spokesperson for the Russian JLo licensee, Toroil
S.A., raged: "Contrary to Simon Fields' statements on Tuesday, there definitely
exists a valid and binding agreement with my clients, Toroil, S.A., which
has been signed by both Ms. Lopez and Mr. Fields." Read more.
June 14, 2004 - The Mirror

diva, who was burned co-starring with Ben Affleck in 'Gigli' and 'Jersey
Girl', both box-office flops. "She was going to play Hector's wife," says
an industry source. "But she decided her talents would be equally useful

Maybe if she'd marry a Boy Scout or sailor, somebody who knows how to make
a knot. These knots don't seem to be taking... This was bound to happen.
Now gay people are complaining that Jennifer Lopez is ruining the institution
of marriage. Of course Marc Anthony, he was in a state of shock. He didn't
know it was his turn... I realize I sound a little catty. I was a hurt

a half... Let's put it this way, J.Lo is not exactly low maintenance. Then,
they were totally blindsided by this wedding. They had flatly denied the
