August 30, 2004 - According to Us Weekly, after an appearance on Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards, Jennifer Lopez will be scaling back her work schedule in a bid to become a mother. "She's ready to start this family," a friend revealed. "Time is ticking and she knows it." After her relationships with Ben Affleck and Sean 'P. Diddy' Combs were doomed because they didn't want children, the 35-year-old found Mr. Right with Marc Anthony, who the pal said is "much better suited for this." The pal added that the pregnancy won't be kept a secret. "She told me, 'I'll be happy - I'll want to tell everybody!'"

August 30, 2004 - 'Extra' has an update on Jennifer Lopez's latest career moves since marrying Marc Anthony. She's set to have 'Shall We Dance' hit theaters on October 15th, while she's also starring in 'Monster-In-Law' and is working on an album that is set to hit stores this Christmas. August 30, 2004 - Matt Damon was interviewed by Sunday Magazine of Sydney, Australia and was asked about best pal Ben Affleck's failed romance with Jennifer Lopez. "His priorities were strayed. He put his personal life in front of his professional life." But shouldn't a person put their personal life first? Damon replied, "Well, not if you are going to date a famous person. Ben said to me that he knew it was the worst thing he could do for his career because of the amount of celebrity it was giving him. Think about it. [Why would] anyone want to spend money to see you in a movie, after seeing you [all over the magazines?]"

August 30, 2004 - According to Us Weekly, Marc Anthony's ex-wife Dayanara Torres doesn't want Marc's new wife Jennifer Lopez to be part of their children's lives. "Dayanara doesn't want her children anywhere near Jennifer at this point," a source revealed. Another source added, "It is better for Marc to keep his women separated. There is no love lost betewen them." The bad blood goes way back for the two women. "Jennifer was always a shadow in their marriage," a source close to Torres said. Can the step-mom shut out work? A source close to J.Lo says that the singer "may not like the idea that she can't be involved [in his family]."

August 23, 2004 - Ann Montini of Sky News reports that Jennifer Lopez is thinking of having all her exes over for dinner so they can clear the air. "I hate the fact that I could run into an ex while I am married to Marc [Anthony]", she said. "I like this idea far better."

August 23, 2004 - E! execs are furious at Jennifer Lopez after she reneged on granting the cable network an interview. "Jennifer cut a deal with E! that if they laid off her, she would give them an exclusive interview — her and her family members," someone involved in the deal told The New York Post. Why did J.Lo change her mind? "Jennifer didn't want to talk about her marriage, pregnancy or anything. She has no concept of how to treat people," the insider revealed. August 23, 2004 - Serena Castanon, 5, of Oxnard, California, who has acute lymphoblastic leukemia, the most common type of childhood cancer, wanted to meet Jennifer Lopez, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Tri-Counties made it happen. "Serena had a chance to sing and dance with Ms. Lopez," her mother told The Associated Press. "They talked about her day at the spa and (Serena) showed her the daisies on her nails. I haven't seen Serena smile so much for such a long time. I think this experience will stay with my daughter for the rest of her life." Read more.

August 23, 2004 - Us Weekly reports that after turning 35 last month, Jennifer Lopez has been taking extra steps to combat aging. "She said she started getting some new facial treatment," a source revealed. "It's the essence of placenta or something like that." Lopez is also battling to stay thin, working out almost daily with a personal trainer in Miami Beach.

August 23, 2004 - Sources tell In Touch magazine that several factors are causing a strain in Jennifer Lopez's three-month old marriage to Marc Anthony, including her continued friendship with ex-lover Ben Affleck. The couple recently tried to talk through all their troubles, and a family insider revealed, "They knew they had to work through everything that was bugging them. But the list of things turned out to be a whole lot longer than either one expected." Anthony also wants J.Lo to rid herself of all the jewelry from her exes, especially Ben Affleck. If she does, Anthony promised to replace it all with pricier items. Lopez agreed with the offer.

August 16, 2004 - The Glasgow Daily Record reports Jennifer Lopez was generous to her 'Monster-In-Law' co-stars after filming completed. The actress/singer gave co-star Michael Vartan a huge outdoor vase which he had told her he really liked while shooting the film, and she gifted her other co-star Jane Fonda with a Chopard watch. Lopez also gave the film's director Robert Luketic antique Buddha, and babydoll shirts were given to her hairdresser, make-up and wardrobe artists.

August 9, 2004 - A source tells Jeannette Walls of MSNBC.com that after threat of a lawsuit, not only is Star magazine not allowed to write about Jennifer Lopez without her permission, but the other American Media property, the National Enquirer isn't either. The Enquirer's current issue refered to J.Lo's ex-husband Cris Judd as the guy "who used to be married to singer Marc Anthony's new wife."

August 9, 2004 - Us Weekly reports that Jennifer Lopez and hubby Marc Anthony celebrated her 35th birthday at Koi with 25 relatives on July 24th in Los Angeles. A source said, "She seems like she's not that happy that she's getting older. She has started talking about wrinkles when she laughs and how heavy the airbrushing on her pictures is lately." A witness at the restaurant revealed, "[Marc and J.Lo] had their arms around each other, and he was giving her sweet cheeck kisses."

August 9, 2004 - Carmen Harra, a New York City psychic who has worked with Jennifer Lopez weighed in on her failed romance with Ben Affleck and her new husband Marc Anthony. "It didn't work out with Ben because she couldn't resolve her past karma problems in relatioships," Harra told Us Weekly. "With Marc, it's warmer, but I still think she will meet another guy in about a year."

August 2, 2004 - In Touch weekly reports that Jennifer Lopez wants another wedding with hubby Marc Anthony, this time with the blessing of the Catholic church. "Jennifer is determined to find any way possible to renew her vows with Marc inside a Catholic churt," a friend of the actress revealed. Since both J.Lo and Marc are divorced, the church won't recognize the power couple's marriage. "She's even appealed to the Vatican!," the friend revealed. Lopez wants the church's blessings before she becomes a mother. "It's important for Jen that the kids be raised Catholic," her ex-fiance Ben Affleck once remarked.

August 2, 2004 - USA Today has details of Jennifer Lopez's birthday bash on Saturday in Los Angeles, where she was joined by Benny Medina, her 'Monster-in-Law' co-stars Jane Fonda and Michael Vartan, and 'The King of Queens' star Leah Remini. August 2, 2004 - The New York Post reports Jennifer Lopez's mother Guadalupe was spotted Friday night at the Borgata in Atlantic City, playing the same slot machine that paid her $2.1 million several months ago, later visiting the Old Homestead for a sirloin and a glass of wine. "[Guadalupe] said she doesn't like [Lopez's current husband] Marc Anthony and said she far preferred Ben Affleck," a fellow diner revealed.
