"In the beginning, I was a blank slate. I got to work with all these great directors because I was just a girl who came in there and did well in the audition," the diva said. "Then when I became famous, I was being offered movies that I could star in but that's all I was being offered. When I think I should be seeing the big directors, they don't even consider me. They see me as a sexy singer and too much in the media."

August 11, 2005 - Star magazine reports that Jennifer Lopez will open The World of JLo inside Marshall Fields in Chicago on September 22nd. "Having the first World of JLo shop in the nation is a huge coup for us," the department store's president told the tabloid. Lopez's first store was opened last year in Moscow.

August 11, 2005 - FemaleFirst.co.uk reports that Jennifer Lopez is considering quitting her music and movie career to become a mother. "Either you are going to be a bad mom and be a really good career woman and wife, or a good mom and career woman and bad wife, or a good mom and a good wife and your career is going to suck," J.Lo explained. August 4, 2005 - Star magazine has learned that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony may be expecting their first child together. "It's very top secret right now," a source revealed. August 4, 2005 - Are tabloids, celebrity magazines, entertainment shows and newspaper gossip columns contributing to the downfall of Hollywood relationships? FOX News profiled the tabloids, and cited Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's nixed marriage and subsequent split. "She had the nerve to blame the media for the collapse of the actual marriage," said Tom O'Neil, senior editor at In Touch Weekly. "They deliberately do these things and then blame the media for breaking them up. ... I'm sure [the tabloids] do have an effect on couples, but the blame lays completely on the celebrity. August 4, 2005 - Roger Friedman of FoxNews.com has details on the internal memos from Sony Music which show the label was paying radio stations for spins. Friedman writes, "Take Jennifer Lopez's awful record, 'Get Right', with its shrill horn and lifted rap. It's now clear that was a 'bought' sensation when it was released last winter. So, too, were her previous 'hits' 'I'm Glad' and 'I'm Real', according to the memos. All were obtained by Sony laying out dough and incentives. It's no surprise. July 29, 2005 - According to The Mirror, Jennifer Lopez is blaming her diva rep on her publicity people. The singer/actress reportedly told 'Monster-in-Law' director Robert Luketic: "My publicity people made those demands. I didn't even know they were asking for those things. I didn't know they were asking for candles and lilies in my rooms. They just appeared."

July 19, 2005 - A source tells Neil Sean of Sky News that Jennifer Lopez is planning a more showgirl/show tunes type album for her next release after disappointing sales of 'Rebirth'. "She is playing with all kinds of styles but so far has recorded the film noir 40s song 'Through with Love'," the studio source revealed. "It's very smoky jazz style." Read more.

July 19, 2005 - A source tells Heat magazine that if there's one thing he misses about Jennifer Lopez compared to his new wife Jennifer Garner, it is that the 'Alias' star doesn't share J.Lo's bizarre fetish, known as "shrimping". The friend said, "Ben was embarrassed when his toe-sucking exploits were revealed. But he's been joking that it's the only thing he misses about J.Lo."
