giving her a respectable B grade, Marc Weingarten of Entertainment Weekly
doesn't seem to think much of Jennifer Lopez's new single (bordering on
calling her a hypocrite) saying, "Lopez's latest is a sharp rebuke to all
of those male hip-hoppers who kvetch about their women going for the bling-bling.
But despite the bold message, this is still standard-fare, booty-thump
funk, with a snapping snare and a female chorus of yes-gals. Whether you
think a woman who dates Puff Daddy cares little about material things is
up to you."

30, 2000 - The New York Post reports that Jennifer Lopez will grace the
cover of Jason Binn's new Gotham magazine when the first issue debuts in
February.
December 29, 2000 - Puff
Daddy had some pretty strange comments on ET about Jennifer saying, "Jennifer,
she's just been a straight soldier, you know, as far as she's just been
a strong woman. She's just been, you know, like a rock. You know. She's
been there and been totally supportive. And you know, I definitely, she's
definitely been a help and, you know, I don't know. I'd probably definitely
be insane if, you know, she wasn't there by my side through this."
December 29, 2000 - The Sun
reports Jennifer Lopez has revealed that Jennifer Lopez's decision as a
child to tie her shoelace when her mom's car collided with a truck may
have saved her life. Instead of being hurled through the windshield, she
says, "I only got a fractured nose. People tell me I look like I was hit
with a hammer. But I like my nose."
December 28, 2000 - Jennifer
Lopez is featured here in an autographed picture wearing a see-through
top that's being auctioned on ebay. The photo, item #529259611, is bid
at $43 and ends today.
December 28, 2000 - The Denver
Post reports inmates at Denver County Jail staged a three-hour uprising
Christmas Eve after they were kept waiting to watch Jennifer Lopez's move,

December 25, 2000 - The New
York Daily News reports Jennifer and Puffy are spending the holidays in
St. Barts.
December 25, 2000 - Seventeen
magazine interviewed Jessica's best friend and assitant Arlene Rodriguez
who talked about how her and Lopez met in grade school. "Jennifer was new
to the school. She came in second grade and she thought she was going to
take over the place. She believed that she was Pinky Tuscadero [from "Happy
Days"]. She had all these friends and she was, like, 'You get my shoes,
you get this, you get that.' I saw everybody running and getting her stuff,
and I said, 'No!' She came up and kicked me in the knee. I told on her,
and she got in trouble."
December 24, 2000 - Jennifer
Lopez finished as the #9 most popular search on Lycos.com for the year,
with the #1 position going to Britney Spears.
December 23, 2000 - The New
York Post reports that Jennifer Lopez few British Airways from London to
New York along with George Clooney. Though the two didn't speak to each
other in the first class section, they did encounter a scare when their
plane was hit with a thunderbolt.
December 22, 2000 - More
on Jennifer Lopez's diva ways as Popbitch.com reports a recent Jennifer
Lopez venue had to be changed because as her rep said, Jennifer doesn't
do stairs."
December 22, 2000 - E! Online's
Ted Casablanca lists Jennifer Lopez & That Dress at #10 on his George
W. Shrub Awards saying, "Hell, gay and straight, everybody who saw that
nonexistent frock wanted to get into it one way or another. Now, all Jen
has to do is figure out what to do with her gunpowder Puff, and she'll
have the world over a barrel."
December 21, 2000 - Worldpop
reports Jennifer Lopez is again guilty of outrageous backstage demands
at Hit Machine in France. Lopez arrived to the show two hours late and
then threw a tantrum because her dressing room was not painted white. Her
hotel demands required she have scented candles and white orchids (changed
twice a day) in her room. Lopez later left Paris for Madrid where similar
problems occured prompting TV shows to be cancelled.
December 18, 2000 - Jennifer
Lopez and her Grammy dress was profiled in Entertainment Weekly's Year
that Was. They said of the fashion decision, "She turned herself out as
the fly-girl hyperversion of postfeminist power, flaunting her control
by toying with the threat of excess. In consequence, her star went supernova."
December 17, 2000 - On the
heels of excessive demands from other musicians on The Smoking Gun, The
Sun reports Jennifer Lopez has topped them all during her appearance at
BBC's Top of The Pops. Jennifer's huge 60 person entourage made up a quarter
of the audience as Jennifer mimed Love Don't Cost A Thing and Play, and
her hired hands clapped extensively. Not only did Lopez and staff take
over 10 dressing rooms, sheinsisted they all be decorated with white muslin
and ruffled lace. As for food, Lopez brought over 3 of her own chefs to
prepare an extravagant menu. An insider told the Sun, "It was the most
ridiculous thing I have ever witnessed at Top Of The Pops. She thought
she was royalty. Everything had to be exact to the last detail." Similar
treatment was expected for her National Lottery Stars show the next night
in the UK.

Lopez was on Thomas Gottschalk's game show 'Bet It... !?' in Basel December

December 16, 2000 - The New
York Post reports Puffy and Jennifer wore fake fur coats to Spa, which
the club thought was acceptable even though they recently instituted a
no-fur policy. The paper reports Combs left his real fur coat in the car.
December 16, 2000 - The Sun
reports Jennifer Lopez is searching England for a good place for her and
Puffy to get married. Lopez is quoted saying, "I think England is the most
romantic place to get married." The two seem to be waiting for the results
of Puffy's gun and bribery charges before proceeding with marriage plans.
Lopez is currently in the UK to promot her new single and hit the airwaves.
December 13, 2000 - The New
York Post's Page Six reports that while Puffy and Jennifer Lopez are currently
together, problems the two had while she was recording JLO caused their
relationship to be put on hold for weeks. An insider told the paper, "Puffy
would show up at the studio at like midnight and demand to see Jennifer.
They would go in a room and fight for hours and then when they were done
everyone would go back to work again." Combs and Lopez though did release
a joint statement saying, "We have been working on this album for months,
in several recording studios. We have and will continue making music together
and just wish that people would let us live our lives and stay out of our
business."
December 13, 2000 - Tony
Award winning Joanna Gleason is commenting to Liz Smith about working with
Jennifer Lopez in The Wedding Planner saying, "I had been primed to expect
a demanding, entourage-laden diva with Jennifer. But she was adorable,
totally professional. No fuss at all."
December 13, 2000 - Jennifer
Lopez is #10 in Playboy's list of The Sex Stars of 2000.
December 11, 2000 - The New
York Daily News reports that neither the prosecutor's office nor the defense
attorneys want to question Jennifer when Puffy goes to trial in January,
according to a source. Puffy's defense attorney Benjamin Brafman told the
Daily News that Jennifer "is 100% supportive of Mr. Combs."
December 10, 2000 - A funny
article about the upcoming virtual reality advancements and opporunties
to have Jennifer Lopez 'up close and personal' was in yesterday's Salt
Lake Tribune.
December 10, 2000 - Jennifer
Lopez was at the Bambi 2000 media awards in Berlin, December 8, 2000 performing
and picking up a Bambi award for the best international pop performance.
December 10, 2000 - In a
CDNow article, amongst Christina Aguilera's favorite artists for 2000,
at #10 is Jennifer Lopez. Her top pick was Mariah Carey.

Mike Walker reports Jennifer Lopez's people didn't know what kind of meal
she wanted for a room service breakfast one day so they ordered 6 meals.
When she got the meals she decided she wasn't hungry and didn't eat any
of it.
December 8, 2000 - Billboard
reports Jennifer Lopez's new album, JLO, will be hitting stores on January
23rd. The album will include a duet with Latin singer Chayanne entitled
Touch Me.

Fink reports that Jennifer Lopez not being with Puffy when he went to Jay-Z's
birthday party at Luhan on Monday may have been a good thing, since Misa
Hylton-Brim and Kim Porter (the moms of his two kids) were there.

reports Jennifer Lopez went to Tommy Mottola's wedding not with Puffy,
but manager Benny Medina and she apparently danced the entire night at
the reception held at the Regent Wall Street, not sitting down once.

Adams reports Puffy and Jennifer were seen kissing in front of his Park
Avenue townhouse, but didn't go in.
December 5, 2000 - Jennifer
Lopez co-hosted TRL today and by guessing 6 out of 10 of the top 10 videos,
everybody in the audience got a Virgin Megastore gift certificate. Jen
also answered fan questions about her new album, JLO.
December 5, 2000 - E! Online's
Ted Casablanca was asked in an online chat if Puffy and Jennifer were about
to break up responded, "Darling, I wouldn't answer that question if you
put a gun to my head."
December 4, 2000 - The Star
reports that Puffy tried to get a gopher to ask a Jennifer look-alike to
come to his table at a New York club. She ended up turning him down and
insulted him for not asking her himself and asked, "by the way, where's
your girlfriend tonight?"
December 3, 2000 - Jennifer
Lopez was amongst many celebrities due to be onhand at last night's wedding
for Sony Music honcho Tommy Mottola to Mexican singer and TV star Thalia,
which was held at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York.
