August 29, 2002 - Zap2it.com reports Jennifer Love Hewitt will host the third annual "Women Rock! Girls & Guitars" concert, sponsored by Lifetime network and Marie Claire magazine. The show  will air on Lifetime Friday, Oct. 25 at 10 p.m. ET. Read more.

August 23, 2002 - Jane Stevenson of the Toronto Sun caught up with Jennifer Love Hewitt to talk about her fourth album 'BareNaked', due October 8th on Jive Records. Jennifer says signing on with the same label that's home to the Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, and *NSYNC did cause her some concern. "That was a small fear in the beginning, because I didn't want to be similar to the other artists that they had," she admitted. "I wanted to find my own individuality. Believe me, I listen to Britney Spears, I listen to NSYNC, I listen to the Backstreet Boys. I'm a total fan. But I just wanted to be my own person. And I wanted to find my own thing." Read more.

August 21, 2002 - Jennifer Love Hewitt is denying that she's been romantically involved with either Alec Baldwin or Enrique Iglesias, reports IMDB. "We've been friends for a really long time. I don't think Enrique would ever go out with me. I'm too big of a dork." As for Baldwin, Jennifer says she was just trying to help him be a better dad. "His main thing was wanting to remain a good dad, and he looked at me as somebody who had been through what his daughter was going to go through. He would say to me, 'What can I do to not screw this up and have her feel bad?' I took that as, 'Oh my God, I have the chance - when maybe my dad didn't handle the situation the right way - to fix it now for someone else.'"

August 20, 2002 - Cindy Adams of the New York Post reports Jennifer Love Hewitt has a bug thing. In the tropics where there's a surplus of insects, she contracted a bizarre bug-killing habit. She hacks them with a knife whilst yelling, "Hate you, hate you, hate you. Die! Die! Die!" 

August 16, 2002 - E! Online's Ted Casablanca reports Jennifer Love Hewitt and Barry Watson, who is battling Hodgekin's Disease, were spotted catching a late-afternoon screening of 'Austin Powers in Goldmember' at Universal CityWalk. The two "just friends" battled over who was going to pay for the tickets, with Love finally getting the chance to foot the bill.

August 15, 2002 - Access Hollywood identified all the celebrities that have made it to the 'American Idol' live broadcasts. Jennifer Love Hewitt and 'Dog Eat Dog' Brooke Burns (not Faith Hill as some had said) were there last week. And Tuesday night, comedian Wayne Brady was in attendance, while actress Selma Blair gave Nikki McKibbin a hug for good luck, plus 'The Other Half' star Mario Lopez.

August 10, 2002 - The New York Daily News reports Jennifer Love Hewitt was accosted by a woman in San Diego Monday morning, but she refuses to press charges. She had just walked out from the KFMB-AM radio station when a 46-year-old stranger came up and started screaming at her. Fortunately, Jennifer's bodyguard stepped in between the two as the woman started swinging. "We're not giving out her name, and we're not even filing a case," police spokesman Dave Cohen said. "Officers tried to talk to her, but she wouldn't say anything."

August 9, 2002 - AOL and Jive Music today announced that AOL Music's online premiere of Jennifer Love Hewitt's first music video, 'BareNaked,' was streamed more than 1.48 million times in just seven days. "The public knows Jennifer Love Hewitt as one of Hollywood's most successful young TV and Film actors," said Randy Miller, Senior VP of Marketing for Jive Records. "It's fantastic that the online debut of her video on AOL produced such astounding results and proves that her fans are interested in her music and will support her dream of becoming a successful singer and songwriter." Hewitt wrote lyrics for every song, while producer Meredith Brooks, who had a hit with 'Bitch' in 1997, wrote the music. "I was a really big fan of her music, and she was sending out a song to other artists, so I went to her house for an afternoon and we hit it off and started writing," Hewitt said. A year later, "we ended up with the whole album." Read more.

August 8, 2002 - Well Jennifer Love Hewitt was raving the other night about how much she loves 'American Idol', and at the beginning of Wednesday's show, Hewitt was shown wearing an 'American Idol' cap and cheering on the contestants. Some are also saying another woman shown later on in the show was Faith Hill.

August 6, 2002 - Access Hollywood reports the stars of the night at Sunday's Teen Choice Awards in Los Angeles were the finalists from 'American Idol'. Jennifer Love Hewitt gushed, "I'm obsessed. I just want to tackle all of them one at a time as soon as I can find one of them on this red carpet. I'm so excited. I love them all. I do -- I'm a big fan."

August 6, 2002 - Extra TV has a video clip highlighting last night's 'Teen Choice Awards' in Los Angeles. The clip shows Britney Spears presenting an award with Mini-me Vern Troyer for best comedy, which 'Friends' won. When ex-beau Justin Timberlake of *NSYNC walked on stage, an anxious Britney watched from the audience. Jennifer Love Hewitt also commented on her performance. Watch the clip here.

August 6, 2002 - Alec Baldwin called in to the Howard Stern Show this morning and was asked about whether he really was briefly dating Jennifer Love Hewitt. Alec said that Jennifer, a 21 year old, wouldn't give him the time of day. Howard asked if 21 is too young for him. Alec said he'd date a 17 year old so 21 isn't too young. He and Artie Lang continued to quiz him about it but Alec just wanted to get off the phone.

August 4, 2002 - While John Mayer was photographed walking hand-in-hand with Jennifer Love Hewitt last month, he revealed to Entertainment Weekly that their relationship is over. "It was a strange little detour that I took for a minute," he said. "Hopefully the people who listen to my music can relate to it in their life -- save for the People magazine part. It's really just an all-American, boy meets girl, check it out, fall madly in love, go overboard to the point of no return, and then do your best to get over it story. It sucks. Because the idea of it was fantastic. It just didn't work. And I hate that. Because I would've been loyal. And I was, but it just didn't.... I hope I'm not being too cryptic. It's not anything [other] than two people being very different. And hopefully I can go through it and not be cheesy about it and not be the guy in People, but just the normal heavyhearted guy.''
