October 17, 2001 - Thanks Serendipity. The journal at film producer Roger Avary's website includes a great compliment for Jessica Biel who's starring in his film Rules of Attraction. Avary says Jessica "far exceeded the range I thought she was capable of. She performed an emotional scene, confessing first to get herself into a dark place, that totally blew my socks off on the first take." The journal at avary.com has since been removed.

October 7, 2001 - The Emmy Awards were canceled again Sunday after United States and Britain launched a military attack in Afghanistan.

October 5, 2001 - The Enquirer is reporting that Jessica Biel's boyfriend and 7th Heaven co-star checked himself into Promises rehab in Malibu after Jessica and the show's producers both gave the cocaine and Vicodin addict an ultimatum. An insider told the taboid, "The cocaine and pills drastically changed his demeanor." After the two talked him into rehab, he appears greatful as the friend added, "Right now he's thanking God for Jessica and the show's producers. They saved his livelihood - and his life."
