When that day happens, the whole world will know. She is not one to keep things quiet. It would be something that she would share with you guys. until you hear it from her, you can be sure----NO ENGAGEMENT! The ring is about his love for her, but if it meant marriage, it would be on the left hand."

February 18, 2001 - The Sun reports Andrew Lloyd Webber has gotten Jessica Simpson to do a track on his compilation for the Ireland-based musical The Beautiful Game.

February 17, 2001 - 98 Degrees were on with Jay Leno Friday and Nick commented on My Everything as Jay asked if it was written for Jessica, "Yeah, it was inspired. Jessica and I wrote it together. Like, for me, the inspiration was her. And we just wanted to write a general love song that could apply to romantic love or spiritual love or, you know, whatever."

February 10, 2001 - The New York Daily News reports Jessica Simpson apparently is engaged to Nick Lachey, as she told people from the NBA TeamUp celebration that the ring on her right hand was "more than a friendship ring."

February 10, 2001 - In an abstracts.net poll asking visitors if they thought Jessica is overweight, a narrow and suspicious majority of 51.5% said yes, while 48.5% said no. A total of 5829 votes were cast. Note that we suspect the poll was somehow manipulated either by programming glitch or cheating as early and late results showed a 75%-25% favoring no.
