June 25, 2001 - Spin magazine reports the inside word on Jessica Simpson breaking up with Nick Lachey was because Nick's career was failing.

June 21, 2001 - Mandy Moore responded to Ella Hooper of Killing Heidi who criticized top US female singers saying, "Those girls - the Britneys and the Christinas and the Jessica Simpsons anmd the Mandy Moores - are so unreal. June 20, 2001 - Louis B. Hobson profiled Mandy Moore for the Calgary Sun where she revealed "Jessica and I are the absolute best friends. I have her cellphone number and we talk all the time." Moore also conceded, "Jessica and I aren't in the same league as Britney and Christina so the idea of rivalry and competition doesn't even enter the equation. They are the superstars. June 19, 2001 - Billboard's Chuck Taylor had good things to say about Jessica Simpson's new album. Taylor says, "Among the highlights of Irresistible is Simpson's favorite, Hot Like Fire, a funky midtempo shuffler that she delivers with blazing vocal grit - it's certainly not kid stuff. The set also serves up momentously luscious ballads."

June 17, 2001 - Jessica Simpson reportedly made some negative remarks about her female peers to CNN at the charity Gala Dinner honoring Jackie Keneddy. Simpson reportedly gushed about Jackie O saying, "Jackie Kennedy is very sophisticated, and I'm trying trying to be more like that.
