August 31, 2001 - USOpen.org had a brief chat with young tennis star Andy Roddick where he was asked about rumors that he and Jessica may have met and exchanged telephone numbers. Andy denied the reports and said it has been a distraction for him at this year's tennis tournament. Read more.

August 23, 2001 - New Zealand's Xtra reports Jessica Simpson is clarifying her opinion of Britney and Christina saying,  "I did something for a magazine a while ago and they completely twisted my words on Britney and Christina just to make the story look better. And that really frustrates me, because I've always been so positive about both of them. I think Britney is an amazing performer and I think Christina's an amazing singer, and they work as hard as me, if not harder. I would never say anything negative about somebody, especially somebody I respect. It just sucks that people twist your words like that."

August 12, 2001 - Thanks tlcwaters. "I watched some of my video archives earlier, and happened to be see Music Mania 2000. During a commercial break, Bill Bellamy interviewed Jessica Simpson. She discussed her then-upcoming album, Irresistible. She claimed that she was in search of inspiration, and that in order to find it, she was listening to some older Mariah.'"

August 8, 2001 - USA Today covered young stars and the pressures brought by being in the spotlight, where Lori Majewski talked about her interview with Jessica Simpson who acknowledged that she had lingering hang-ups about her weight, looks and dancing ability. Lori says, "Imagine feeling that way when you're on stage in front of thousands of people and on television in front of millions. If you're a young person and not secure with who you are yet, being thrust into the spotlight doesn't help." Read more.

August 5, 2001 - Former teen idol Leif Garrett is blasting Jessica Simpson in the September issue of Spin saying, "They're clearly selling a lot of sex here, but on the cover of her new album, they've apparently airbrushed her nipples. They have been deleted." Leif advises her to "come out with big black hair and a goth motif. Like bobcat makeup. And put the nipples back on." Garrett predicts Simpson's future Behind the Music revelation will be "she was hiding 12 illegitimate children." Garrett picked Mandy Moore as his favorite of the current crop of pop stars.

August 4, 2001 - Jessica Simpson was on an MSN chat yesterday. Jess talked about Nick saying, "Nick and I were open about our relationship. I love him and he loves me but knows what I'm going through right now. It was hard to put it all out [in the public], but it just comes along with the business."

August 1, 2001 - Apparently the story about Jessica's Canadian tour being cancelled was phony, there never were any dates scheduled in Canada at this point.
