December 31, 2001 - AJessFriend posted a response to photos posted on Jessica Simpson's official site message board showing her nude. The moderator revealed, "Many of you are aware that someone posted some pix yesterday, claiming to be nude pix of Jessica. They are fake. We have dealt with that user and as many of the pix as possible." AJF also addressed complaints that too many threads were deleted because of the nude photo situation saying, "Some of you made posts that were perfectly acceptable posts, but had to be deleted because of those pix that were posted as a reply to your thread--in many cases, the software would not allow us to delete just one message in a thread." December 31, 2001 - Hits Daily Double reports Shaquille O'Neal gave his list of the top 10 beautiful girls he said hello to in 2001 which included Jessica Simpson in the #2 spot followed by Britney Spears at #3. Read more for the full list.

December 30, 2001 - Buzzwords.com reports Jessica Simpson has signed on to take part in the latest Dana Carvey comedy, 'Master of Disguise'. Simpson's appearance will be a cameo role in the movie slated for a May 31st, 2002 release. Check out more on the movie here.

December 29, 2001 - Well again Mariah Carey dominated one of our polls, this time asking the favorite song of the year. Carey came out on top with her hit, Loverboy, which beat out the Christina Aguilera, Mya, Pink, and Lil' Kim collaboration, 'Lady Marmalade' and Jessica Simpson's Irresistible. December 28, 2001 - US Weekly spoke with Jessica Simpson about what her beauty secrets are and she said her secret for tired-looking skin was "Kiehl's moisturizer with panthenol - it's amazing." As for puffy eyes, Jess said "I use only one product - Shiseido eye cream." For her blotchy skin, Jess recommends "Stila concealer. I use it every day."

December 27, 2001 - Britney Spears gave her thoughts on others in her music genre including Mandy Moore and Willa Ford and Jessica Simpson saying, "I think they're all very cool. Anybody who's out there fulfilling their dream and working hard and doing what they love, I think that's a beautiful thing. So I definitely think that's very cool."

December 26, 2001 - Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Gemma Tarlach gave her thoughts on the year in music and said, "B-list boy bands such as 98 Degrees did a fast fade, as did also-rans in the Britney Brigade, including Mandy Moore and Jessica Simpson." Read more.

Joe did not "tape a diary entry" at the photo shoot. Most of Jessica's appearances, interviews & photo shoots are video taped to document what she did or said, or in some cases, to document what she DIDN'T do or say. Those tapes are kept by Sony..." December 21, 2001 - Jessica Simpson tells the Washington Post's Lloyd Grove details of her latest calling to perform on the Wayne Newton USO tour but was mum on the location. Simpson said, "I know where I'm going, but I'm not allowed to say. I got the call on Monday. The president and Mr. Wayne Newton asked me to go on a secret mission. They didn't give any information on where I was going. But I immediately said, 'Absolutely!'" December 21, 2001 - FOXnews.com reports Muslims are furious following a segment aired on CNN last night, where reporter Jason Bellini whipped out an American teen magazine featuring Jennifer Lopez, showed it to traditionally dressed Afghan teens and asked: "What do you think?" The kids said while J-Lo was "very beautiful," she would "never be allowed to dress like that here because her outfit exposes her belly." Read more.

December 20, 2001 - In Jessica Simpson's controversial photo spread in Maxim, the magazine asked her if she's more comfortable around men prompting Simpson to reply, "In general I like hanging out with guys more than girls. Guys are nevef competitive with you or giving you the evil eye from across the room. I'm kind of the opposite of most girls I have to wear my best outfit and a push-up bra. If I'm hanging out with a guy, I can throw on old jeans and a sweatshirt and be totally comfortable."

December 20, 2001 - Anonymous writes "The controversy has started again now that Jessica's sexy Maxim photo shoot has finally surfaced. The cover shows Jessica posing in black lingerie, with a picture of her pulling down the front of her underpants with a mattress behind her as well as a see-through lace dress on the pages inside. This has some fans fuming and other fans telling them to support her or leave the board."

December 19, 2001 - Seattle P-I reviewer Gene Stout was at the KISS 106.1 FM concert Monday that featured several acts including Jessica Simpson and said of Jessica's performance, "Simpson, wearing a black sweater, black mini-skirt and black, thigh-high leather boots performed 'I Think I'm in Love,' 'I Wanna Love You Forever,' 'A Little Bit' and the title song of her current album, 'Irresistible.' December 19, 2001 - Star reports Jessica Simpson was spotted at Houston's Restaurant in Century City, California with 98 Degrees star Nick Lachey sitting very close to each other and showing body language which appeared according to a snitch "lovey-dovey".

December 17, 2001 - Jackie & Bender of KISS 106.1 FM in Seattle talked to Jessica Simpson from Los Angeles as she was going to be in Seattle for a show today. They talked about her new brunette hair, what she's been up to, her status with 98 Degrees singer Nick Lachey (and yeah, it sounds like they are back together), the dog Hugs she had to give up, and her trip to Bosnia for the USO tour. December 17, 2001 - Some of the more visible parents of today's top pop stars are drawing some search engine interest of their own. Topping the Overture.com search queries are Lynn Harless, the often visible mother of *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake who received 108 searches during the month of November. Next up was Britney Spears' mother Lynne Spears who received 106 searches. Joe Simpson, father of Jessica Simpson received 89 searches. Surprisingly, the most vocal parent on the web, Christina Aguilera's mother Shelly Kearns, didn't receive the 25 search limit to even be listed.

December 16, 2001 - The New York Post is asking in today's blind item: "Which pop princess keeps her weight own by taking laxatives? The downside is she sometimes has accidents requiring even more costume changes than normal."

December 14, 2001 - The Seattle P-I talked with Jessica Simpson ahead of her concert at the Stadium Exhibition Center in Seattle on Monday where she admitted she's dropped her recently adopted dance focus saying, "For me personally, it changed my focus. Because I suddenly thought, 'Oh, my gosh, I'm about a voice.' And that's really what I want to be doing, less dancing and more singing. I want to inspire people and I want people to listen to my music and be moved." As for her next album due next year, Jessica said, "On the next album, I hope to write at least 90 percent of the songs. I've been working with other writers and learning the craft of songwriting." December 9, 2001 - Blink-182, Bush, Pink, O'Jays, LFO, Blu Cantrell, Jessica Simpson and Busta Rhymes will perform on Dick Clark's annual New year's eve special, Dick Clark's New Year Rockin' Eve on ABC. While they perform in Hollywood, Clark will be in New York.

December 8, 2001 - Anonymous writes "Another controversy has broken out at Jessica Simpson's official website. Alongside Maxim, you will also be able to see Jessica on the Feb./Mar. 2002 issue of Complete Woman with the bottom of her breasts exposed amongst the headlines "Sex Tricks Only Lovers In The Tropics Know," "Saturday Night Fever A Lovers' Weekend He'll Never Ever Forget," and "Hot Bachelors You Can E-mail Today." Fans have posted their discontent over her cooperation with the magazine, but the posts are being deleted."

December 6, 2001 - According to Jessica Unlimited, Jessica Simpson is currently suffering from eye trouble as a result of her contact lens use. According to news on the fansite, when Jessica took the stage Tuesday night at a radio show in Syracuse, New York, she was sporting a pair of sunglasses and had to be escorted to a stool on the stage to perform her four song set. She is apparently suffering from ulcers on and around her eyes. Jessica addressed the crowd about the situation by saying, "If you have to wear contact lenses, wear the kind you throw out."
