February 26, 2002 - Jessica Simpson will perform the National Anthem for the LA Clippers game against Michael Jordan and the Washington Bullets at the Staples Center on Wednesday March 13, 2002. The game is broadcast on TNT but I'm not sure if they'll televise the anthem.

Pop singer Jessica Simpson and her 98 Degrees flame Nick Lachey just may beat Britney and Justin to the altar. On Feb 10, Lachey, 28, presented Simpson, 21, with a pear-shaped-diamond engagement ring as the couple vacationed on a yacht off the coast of Hawaii. (No wedding date has been set.) After taking a break last year from their three-year relationship-"Nick was patiently waiting for me to grow up a little," says Simpson- the couple reunited after September 11. Says the bride-to-be: "I knew that I never, ever wanted to be away from Nick for the rest of my life.""

February 16, 2002 - Fans on the official site message board for Jessica Simpson reacted to news that her 98 Degrees boyfriend Nick Lachey asked her to marry him and her acceptance. Simpson family message board 'spokesperson' AJessFriend commented, "Thanks, Jess, for sharing this news with your message board family. As you are aware, the mb has supported you and Nick without fail. This announcement makes us happy, because it makes you happy. I'm totally part of the unhappy about this group and please don't give me hell for it, it's just how I feel. February 8, 2002 - The Los Angeles premiere of Britney Spears' debut film 'Crossroads' will be broadcast live on the internet on February 12. The webcast will include behind-the-scenes footage and clips of the movie. Britney and her *NSYNC boyfriend Justin Timberlake will headline a list of celebrities that is scheduled to include the Jessica Simpson and 98 Degrees singer Nick Lachey. Fans can log onto the film's official website, crossroadsmovie.com from 6 PM PST time to see the guests arriving at the premiere.

February 8, 2002 - E! Online's Ted Casablanca reports Jessica Simpson was spotted with her mother flying from Dallas to Los Angeles in first class. Upon arriving at LAX, a run-of-the mill driver greeted the singer who was wearing hip hugger jeans and tall platform shoes. Jessica reportedly "couldn't keep her eyes from wandering over to a particularly lovey-dovey couple."
