May 27, 2002 - US Weekly chatted with stars on what they'd do if they weren't celebrities. Jessica Simpson replied that she'd still be with fiance Nick Lachey of 98 Degrees: "I think I'd be a mother. If I wasn't a singer, I would love to go on the road with Nick and raise or kids and be normal."

May 23, 2002 - Jessica Simpson's label Columbia Records has announced that they will be releasing a remix album of some Jessica's biggest hits. The album is to contain remix's for 'I Wanna Love You Forever', 'I Think I'm in Love' and two 'Irresistible' remixes including the Jermaine Dupri produced 'So So Def Remix' and a 'Hex Hector Remix.' May 22, 2002 - Jessica Simpson official site forum moderator AJessFriend told fans earlier today, "[Jessica] in or on the way to Hawaii to shoot a video for the premiere of the 'Lilo and Stitch' Disney movie coming out in June. The whole soundtrack is remakes of Elvis songs and they asked Jess to sing 'Love Me Tender'. The video will air on an ABC special to promote the movie."

May 20, 2002 - Searches for Jessica Simpson continued to decline in the month of April on pay-per search engine Overture.com. The Texan singer had just over 70,000 searches for her name, putting her well behind Britney Spears' 2.6 million searches, and Mandy Moore's 89,000 searches. Pop newcomers Vanessa Carlton and Michelle Brach also received more search interest than Simpson. Read more.

May 18, 2002 - Earlier we heard that Jessica Simpson planned on getting hitched to 98 Degrees star Nick Lachey later this year. According to a posting on Jessica's message board, the singer revealed in an interview at her appearance in Delware last weekend that the couple plans on marrying on October.

May 14, 2002 - The New York Post reports an item that many on this site have been making speculations about from the start - that last year's split between Jessica Simpson and her 98 Degrees fiance Nick Lachey was a hoax designed to get some publicity for their careers. The couple got back together supposedly after 9.11 but insiders laugh, "It was all a publicity stunt. They wanted some attention on their careers and so they broke up. Unfortunately, no one really cared, so they got back together."

May 13, 2002 - 98 Degrees official site message board has photos of Jessica Simpson with what appears to be a party glass filled with wine at the pre-Kentucky Derby bash in Louisville recently. May 12, 2002 - Another fan shared her experience meeting Jessica Simpson earlier today at the Delaware Flower Market. Jessica1fan4life revealed, "I asked her if her career stopped today what she would be most proud of and she said 'I Wanna Love You Forever' going to #1. Then I waited in the autograph signing and gave her this collage I made her and sour skittles. She told me she really misses me it was so cute." Read more.

May 12, 2002 - Fans on Jessica Simpson's official site message board shared details of their meeting with Jessica at her appearance at the Flower Market in Delaware. faith_in_jess writes, "So the line starts moving, and I'm getting so nervous but I finally get up there. I think she spent more time with me than others because I had so much stuff and I was like 'Hey Jessica, I'm Emily' and I put all the stuff on the table and she was like woah! lol a pig. And she told some girl because it was her favorite, and I was like, 'Yes, this is from the JSMB, and the quotes are on the back'. And she was like 'Aww, thank you so much!' and I started to cry." May 7, 2002 - A  fan on Jessica Simpson's official site message board from Louisville posted transcripts of chats Jessica Simpson had done with local media before Saturday's Kentucky Derby. Amongst Simpson's comments were her planned marriage to 98 Degrees star Nick Lachey. Jessica revealed, "The wedding is this fall. We're planning it now we have a wedding planner. We're trying to plan it in LA it is in Austin, so its kinda like we're having to fly back and forth and do all kinds of stuff. It's really exciting! I can't wait to say, 'I do!'" Read more.

May 1, 2002 - Jessica Simpson official site moderator AJessFriend revealed more news on what Jessica's been up to, including news that she just shot a Nestle Crunch commercial with Shaquille O'Neal of the Los Angeles Lakers for the NBA playoffs - which are currently underway (Shaq's Lakers advanced to round 2 on Sunday), so look for those anytime now. In addition, Simpson will be shooting a mini video, singing an Elvis song for a TV special to promote the upcoming summer movie 'Lilo And Stitch', which will come out presumably in June.
