In it Jessica reveals that in spite of her previous repeated assertions that 'Irresistible is Jessica Simpson' her label, Sony, made her make that album and that posing for Maxim, a men's magazine, was not her idea. Jessica said, "That last record, I mean, it wasn’t me. Like my last record, even 'Irresistible'. It was a great song and it was a great song for me. But, you know, I don’t think that most of that record, if the label wasn’t telling me that I needed to do it, I wouldn’t have done it." Read more."

July 24, 2002 - Jessica Simpson official site forum moderator and spokesperson updated fans with news on her appearance in Dallas on Saturday. AJessFriend writes, "On Saturday, July 27, Jessica will be appearing at the opening of the new Seventeen Studio/Spa/Salon in Plano, Texas... This is not an indoor mall; it's a strip center, so the event may take place outdoors. Dallas DJ Domino of KISS-FM will be broadcasting live from the spa." July 24, 2002 - Fox announced Tuesday that Jessica Simpson will be will make her television acting debut on the network when she guest stars in three upcoming episodes of 'That '70s Show' (Tuesdays 8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT). Simpson is scheduled to start production on the series July 29th where she will portray Annette, Kelso's (Ashton Kutcher) hot new California girl. Read more.

July 22, 2002 - An unofficial Jessica Simpson fansite posted news today that the VH1 Show 'All Access: Hot Couples' included Jessica and her 98 Degrees fiance Nick Lachey along with other celebrity couples. July 9, 2002 - Tina Simpson sent Jessica Simpson official forum moderator AJessFriend news that her other daughter, Ashlee, is also being positioned to catch the latest wave in pop music started by Avril Lavigne. AJessFriend writes, "She has been in the studio recording and writing songs. She is working with Sugar Ray's drummer, Stan, who is one of the writers for Sugar Ray's songs... she is doing punk/ska style music with a pop/rock flair... she has not signed to a label yet but she has 4 labels vying for her contract. July 6, 2002 - Star magazine spoke with Jessica Simpson and 98 Degrees star Nick Lachey on how the events of September 11 brought the couple back together and convinced them that they should get married. Jessica said, "The horrific events of 9/11 put my life in perspective and made me realize who is important to me - and that is Nick." For his part, Nick said, "[9/11] freaked her out. It made us both realize how we felt for each other." He added, "I can't wait to say 'I Do.'"

July 4, 2002 - Jessica Simpson will serve as grand marshal for the 44th annual Pepsi 400 on July 6 at 7:30 p.m. at Daytona International Speedway. Her duties will have her tell drivers to start their engines. "We're happy to welcome one of America's fastest rising musical stars," Speedway President John Graham said. "We'll get a double dose of Jessica Simpson's beautiful voice as she performs during the Pepsi 400 pre-race ceremonies and gives the command as grand marshal." Read more.
