July 26, 2004 - The Associated Press reports Jessica Simpson's rainbow-colored shawl has become a fashion statement - good news for the unemployment-stricken Argentine economy and the 28 knitters at a factory outside Buenos Aires. July 19, 2004 - Anonymous writes "While Jessica Simpson has only mentioned the only other serious "love" of her life, as someone who broke her heart, on tonight's episode revealing that he was "an actor on 'Days of Our Lives' and was dating country singer LeAnn Rimes at the time he professed his love to her. Any soap fan (or person good at using google) would know that this could be the one and only Jensen Ackles, who briefly dated LeAnn Rimes and worked on 'Days'. He, like Jessica, hails from Texas as well."

July 12, 2004 - Jessica Simpson's mother tells Vanity Fair her daughter's IQ is in the 160s. "The genius IQ is from Tina Simpson," editor Krista Smith revealed to 'Extra'. July 12, 2004 - Star magazine reports that Jessica Simpson's recent health problems were not because of a pregnancy, she really has a kidney infection. She told pals that it developed from a urinary tract infection cause by "too much sex with hubby Nick." As for pregnancy plans, a source said that "Jess and Nick do not want a baby right now. Their lives are too hectic, their schedules too full." But they're "loking forward to having kids" in the future.

July 12, 2004 - Jessica Simpson stopped by Elements boutique in Chicago the other day. Not recognizing her immediately, a salesperson asked the 'Newlyweds' star where she was from. When Simpson said, "L.A.," the clerk quipped, "What are you? A rock star?" Jessica responded, "Actually ... sort of ... I'm Jessica Simpson!" Klein writes, "Surprisingly, Simpson filled virtually all of Tweeter's seats, plus a small part of the cheaper lawn seating, no small feat considering the rain clouds that hovered menacingly. From the start, Simpson was hardly shy about her various TV projects and the role they played in her recent success. Underscoring the debt Simpson owes to television, a huge video monitor hung center stage. The overwhelmingly young and female crowd even cheered for the breath-mint commercial featuring Jessica and her younger sister Ashlee. The sad truth about Simpson is that her recognition factor is strictly skin deep. "I'm just not a domesticated kind of girl," the 'Newlyweds' star explained. "I've never used an iron or washing machine. I consider myself a good wife, but life's too short to cook when you can go out to eat or order takeouts. Who cares if you know how to make a pot roast? It wasn't my cooking that made my husband want to marry me. Men don't find a piece of pie sexy, do they?"

July 6, 2004 - Us Weekly reports that Jessica Simpson has sparked an economic boomlet in the tiny Argentine village of Florencio Varela after wearing shawls by local designer Cecilia De Bucourt. "My business has grown like crazy," she explained. "I can't keep up with demand!" De Bucourt met with Simpson in May at Radio City Music Hall, when she started to wear the $200 crocheted, hand dyed knits, which cost around $200 each. De Bucourt's work staff has jumped from eight to thirty, and has raised the village's standard of living. "The kids in her village can eat, and they can go to schools that they couldn't go to," Jessica's mother Tina revealed. "She changed this village." But, Ryan stopped to laugh and recalls an embarrassing moment he had with the family, mentioning that even he makes mistakes. "Just recently, I was backing out of the driveway and suddenly I hear this crash," he revealed. "I look back only to realize I had hit Jessica Simpson's brand new Mercedes Benz. I considered just driving away, but then her car alarm went off and the whole family came running." He felt terrible and admitted he was almost in tears. July 2, 2004 - Globe magazine reports that while Meryl Streep was at a gas station in Los Angeles, Jessica Simpson walked up and introduced herself, claiming the actress was her idol and how much she loved her films. Meryl was gracious, but admitted to the 'Newlyweds' star that she couldn't return the compliment because she was unfamiliar with her work. She told Jess, "But I'm sure my kids know who you are."

July 2, 2004 - Former Steps singer Lisa Scott Lee and her dancer fiance Johnny Shentall will pocket £250,000 for a MTV reality show about their first year as a married couple, based on the Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey original, 'Newlyweds'.
