September 27, 2004 - Don't look for Jessica Simpson to endorse the Atkins' diet. In Touch magazine reports that after the singer was encouraged to go on the diet in 2001 to compete with the slimmer Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, the meat-eggs-and-cheese diet caused her emotional and physical problems. "Atkins really messed me up mentally," Jessica said, adding that she also suffered from bloating and constipation. After dropping down to 102 pounds and filming a video, she binged on carbs and gained all the weight back. Since then, Simpson has gone on a more reasonable eating plan. "I feel like curves are in," Simpson said. "They make your outfit look better, and I link having something to pinch."

September 27, 2004 - NW magazine reports that Nick Lachey of 98 Degrees and Jessica Simpson are close to a divorce after a much-televised two-year marriage. "They’re living single lives these days — I wouldn't be surprised if both of them are on the market in a few months," a source close to Lachey revealed. "Nick is very upset right now," the pal revealed. "He feels like he is trying to have his own career and Jessica's parents give him no respect. They don't treat him well. The MTV cameras [for the show 'Newlyweds'] are going to go away soon and when they do, Nick wants a break." So does this mean Lachey will separate from Simpson?
