April 26, 2005 - A 'truth be told' posting on Britney Spears' official website asked if her new UPN reality show with hubby Kevin Federline would be like the Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson starring 'Newlyweds' or 'The Osbournes'. "The show coming out is not a reality show like 'The Newlyweds' and 'The Osbournes,'" the posting claims. "It is documentary-style footage which was filmed by Britney and Kevin. It's not as conservative as Nick and Jessica's show nor is it as dysfunctional as 'The Osbournes.' Britney and Kevin think it's just right. It's their world. Trust us, it's like nothing you've seen before."

April 26, 2005 - Star magazine reports that Jessica Simpson's father Joe Simpson is now trying to save his oldest daughter's troubled marriage to 98 Degrees star Nick Lachey. According to sources, former minister Joe has pleaded with Jessica and Nick to go into marriage counseling. "Joe has steered them into a form of Christian counseling," says a source close to Joe, adding that the sessions will take place at Jessica's parents' home in a gated community in Encino, California, "away from prying eyes." April 26, 2005 - An eyewitness at 'Scrubs' star Zach Braff's birthday party at 40 Deuce in Los Angeles last Saturday night tells The New York Post she saw Johnny Knoxville and 'Dukes of Hazzard' co-star Jessica Simpson stroking one another's hands when the lights went down. Not only is Simpson already married to Nick Lachey, Knoxville is married and has a daughter. "It was awesome," the source gushed. Knoxville's rep, Melissa Kates, insisted: "Jessica and Johnny are good friends as a result of working together last year. Any stories suggesting otherwise are ridiculous." Read more.

April 11, 2005 - Popdirt.com's previous poll asked how you thought Jessica Simpson should handle the recent claims allegedly made in an e-mail from Lindsay Lohan to Paris Hilton. 26.6% said Simpson should make light of it and do T-Mobile commercial, while 21% suggested she should deny the allegations through her rep, and demand a gag for media interviews. So far it seems to be the latter. 17.4% said Simpson should file lawsuit against Lindsay, and 12.5% suggested the 'Newlyweds' star should take a polygraph, submit to a urinalysis and have press conference. Though Simpson says she's not a prude, she did want him to get rid of the collection because it was so big. April 11, 2005 - In Touch magazine reports that when Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey appeared on 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno', the couple arrived in separate cars and had separate dressing rooms. A source said Jessica "looked angry for some reason" and later was heard snapping to her assistant CaCee Cobb, "CaCee, shut the door!" A source familiar with the NBC set said, "Couples almost always arrive together, and they always use the same dressing room." Lachey visited Simpson's dressing room moments before they went on stage insisting to his wife that "nothing went on" after reports he was flirting with two women in Nashville. The 98 Degrees singer begged, "We have to go out in 10 minutes. Smile for me."

April 5, 2005 - Seventeen magazine caught up with Nick Lachey and asked the 98 Degrees singer if he and wife Jessica Simpson were hurt by the constant barrage of tabloid stories claiming their marriage is in trouble. "Well, it's more frustrating than anything else," he said. "You have friends and family reading it, wondering, Is this true? I think we were just shocked by how long these fabricated stories continue to stay out there. No matter what you do, people just spin it and misinterpret it. You'll be called defensive if you answer it, but if you don't, there must be something wrong 'cause you're not answering. You can't win. You just gotta learn to ignore it and know it'll pass.
