July 29, 2006 - While filming the video to her new single 'A Public Affair', The Sun reports Jessica Simpson was left battered and bruised. "Those roller skates weren't my friends! I have bruises all over, including this one on my thigh," she said. "My wheel got caught on the stopper of my other skate, and I totally bit it (fell down). I thought I'd get trampled by the skaters behind me. But I was more worried about my hair extensions coming out or my face being demolished!"

July 29, 2006 - The New York Daily News reports Joe Simpson was keeping a close eye on Nick Lachey during the seven-month separation before the marriage officially ended June 30th, especially so during the spring when Vanessa Minnillo and CaCee Cobb were all in the same nightclub. "Joe called the club people after hearing Nick was there and demanded to see the security videotape," an insider claimed. "Joe was looking to incriminate Nick. He told the club, 'If you ever want to see my daughter there, you'll give me what I want.'" The club denied Papa Joe's request, though Simpson camp insisted the story was preposterous.

"Jessica was their lowest sale in seven weeks," a glossy-magazine insider told Lloyd Grove. "She's so over. She's a bargain-basement star who can only sell $1.99 magazines at best these days."
