August 31, 2001 - The New York Post's Liz Smith talked to Josh Hartnett where he admits, "It would be so much easier for me to move to California for my career, but I'd miss my family and friends. Their love and support helps me keep my head on my shoulders." And of his role in Othello, Harnett admits, "It's one of the toughest roles I've ever done. Having to go to that dark place every day; it was a real struggle."

August 31, 2001 - Josh Harnett talked about how he's avoided the pressures of fame as Allpop reports, "Just by chance -- not really by chance, it was kind of by design -- I was shooting a movie in Africa when Pearl Harbor came out, so we went through the press (in Hawaii) and I took off back to Africa where I was in Morocco and I could walk down the street and I was just that white guy. So I missed a lot of the hype the first month-and-a-half it was out. And the last month-and-a-half I've been in Minnesota and I've been putting together a house so I haven't been out all that much." August 30, 2001 - USA Today is profiling Josh Harnett where O co-star Julia Stiles admits, "He's so shy about all the success. I guess that's what makes him charming." As for Josh, he says dealing with fame hasn't been too bad yet, "t's not as overwhelming as I thought it was going to be." Read more.

August 28, 2001 - Josh Hartnett commented on the controversial film O saying, "I think kids can learn from a film like this, use it to explore their ideas and opinions on the subject matter, and heal from their own situations. Just because you don't acknowledge a problem or you forbid a teenager from seeing the movie, it doesn't mean the problem doesn't exist."

August 28, 2001 - BBC reports Josh Hartnett is sticking up for Ben Affleck and putting some blame on the media saying, "I like Ben. I know he's a very good person. And I know that he's doing the best thing for himself. When I see the media chastising him for it, I really feel bad for him. He is just trying to get his life back together."

August 22, 2001 - Josh Hartnett was on with Jay Leno Monday night to promote O and talk about how he robbed a Dairy Queen when he was 16... Don't worry, the robbery was actually a short film.

August 21, 2001 - Josh Hartnett was on Access Hollywood to talk about O and deny rumors he's dating co-star Julia Stiles. Josh says, "The rumors aren't true. We're not dating." Harnett added of the tabloid reports, "You never believe that crap anyway. It's just like everything you hear in those things, is usually false, especially in regards to me because I'm not even around. I live in Minnesota. I'm far away from it all. How would they know what I'm doing?"

August 21, 2001 - The Chicago Sun Times Bill Zwecker got comments from Josh Hartnett on his Pearl Harbor co-star Ben Affleck where he said it's just another reason  "why I live in Minnesota--it keeps me anchored." While he admits drug problems happen everywhere, it's easier to avoid the livestyle in Minnesota as opposed to Hollywood.

August 16, 2001 - Access Hollywood previewed O with Josh Hartnett showing clips of the film they say was so controversial, it almost didn't make it to screen. They also report Entertainment Weekly calls it a can't miss film.

August 11, 2001 - Josh Harnett will be on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Monday, August 20th. Also on the lineup are musicians Stevie Nicks and Sheryl Crow.
