spoke with Louis B. Hobson of the Calgary Sun but was mum on what his girlfriend
thought of his '40 Days' role: "No comment." Hobson said Harnett had dated
Gisele Bundchen and actress Monet Mazur during his time in Los Angeles.

"Enough. 40 Days And 40 Nights has a couple of good laughs, such as the

"My friend Maggie Joan Hall was going off to play a stripper in a play
in San Francisco so she wanted to go to a strip club and asked me to go

really got into it. It was really embarrassing. After that I tried to give
all that up - I lasted about two- and-a-half weeks. We're not just talking

"Hartnett — whose voice seems deeper than usual in this film, as if he's
trying to sound more manly — handles the indignities of his role with his
usual likable, squinty charm."

Josh's character, "Hartnett, a deep-throated, aw-shucks Minnesota boy who
squints his smiles, has been altogether wooden in his past endeavors. But

it a C+ rating issued the verdict: "'Seinfeld' did abstinence more cleverly,

flawed but crudely funny, '40 Days' is an entertaining way for adults -

spoke with Entertainment Weekly about the scene in '40 Days..' where he's
chained to the bed. Josh admits, "That was NOT a good day. I'm not into
that bondage sh--. I think I spent a couple of days chained there. My wrists
were all raw and cut up -- they were real handcuffs. They had a little
bit of fur on them, a little bit of padding, but it didn't help." Read

caught up with Josh Hartnett to see if he'd give up sex for 40 days in
real life like his character does. Josh said, "I would give up sex and
everything sex-like 40 days to get get with my next girlfriend, I don't
think so. Hopefully I'll have more santy than that. I gave up candy for
lent and I really like candy, this is my choice." As for a comedy role,
he said, "It is good to challenge yourself. I like the challenge of --
I mean if i wanted to do one thing all the time I would have just gotten
a normal job. The fun of being an actor you get to choose things, you know,
a different life every 6 months or so."
