January 31, 2001 - Rumors that
*NSYNC and Britney Spears will be touring together this summer are flying
and the reaction online hasn't been postive. In fact, a petition
is already making the rounds at petitiononline.com. Some early reaction
includes, "We are fans of *NSYNC, not *NSYNCY." Another detractor states,
"I refuse to pay to see 50% of the concert performed by ANY lipsyncher."
So far, obviously, most of the reaction is coming from *NSYNC fans.

31, 2001 - From what Kevin Richardson is quoted as saying, it appears the
Backstreet Boys were asked to perform at halftime of the Super Bowl before
*NSYNC was, but he reveals, "We wanted to go in, sing the anthem, then
kick back with a beer and watch the game. Who needs the stress of waiting
to sing? You'd miss half the game."
January 31, 2001 - Amy Reiter
reports *NSYNC and 98 Degrees were on their best behavior at the Maxim
party last Friday, where instead of drinking and dancing with the Maxim
girls, the guys where using the Sony PlayStation kiosk instead. Lance did
take a shot at the Backstreet Boys when he was asked what he thought of
the rival band performing at the Super Bowl, saying "There's another band
performing besides us?"
January 30, 2001 - A photographer
from a Florida newspaper emailed into the Rush & Molloy show on eyada.com
today to tell Joanna that as he walked by Justin and Britney Sunday at
the Super Bowl, he could smell 'mary-jane' and that their eyes matched
the part.
January 30, 2001 - Howard
Stern was commenting on the Super Bowl halftime show today saying that
he thought Aerosmith did the show with *NSYNC to get in touch with a younger
audience but he thought it was still kind of gay.
January 29, 2001 - You can
vote for your favorite Super Bowl commercial at Superbowl-ads.com. Yes,
*NSYNC's Bud PSA spot is on the list. The top vote getter will be announced
March 1st.

did a public service announcement against under age drinking. Ironically,

January 28, 2001 - Big week
for boy-band birthdays as Joey Fatone and Nick Carter celebrate there's
today while Justin's will be on the 31st, when he turns 20.
January 28, 2001 - *NSYNC's
Simpson's episode will air February 25th at 8 PM on FOX. In the episode,
boy-band impresario L.T. Smash recruits Bart along with fellow band members
and friends Milhouse, Ralph, and Nelson. Just as the band finds success,
Bart's sister Lisa discovers that Smash has ulterior motives for forming
the group.

Timberlake was recently asked about his most memorable experience with

York Daily News reports Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake have RSVP'd
to Derek Jeter's invitation-only party Friday at the Rain Lounge in Tampa.
January 26, 2001 - *NSYNC
has been nominated for Favorite Singing Group and Favorite Song (Bye Bye
Bye) in the Kids' Choice Awards. Rosie O'Donnell will host the awards show
on April 21 on Nickelodeon.
January 25, 2001 - The Salt
Lake Tribune reports Britney Spears and *NSYNC played an acoustic set at
a private party in Deer Valley Saturday night. Later, Justin and Britney
were spotted strolling Main Street.
January 25, 2001 - O-Town's
Ashley Parker Angel is responding to crticism by *NSYNC's Lance Bass about
their band saying to WallofSound.com, "Honestly, I would completely understand
any criticisms, We don't exp ect that everybody in the
music industry right now will welcome us with open arms. We're a group
that is being put together on television; of course it's going to be different
than how 'N Sync came together, or how Backstreet came together. Maybe
those groups are misconstruing what Making the Band is. It's not the story
of how they came together; it's a story of how we came together. It's an
opportunity for people to view a group from its very beginning. No one
is trying to say this is how 'N Sync or Backstreet came together."

Beat reports postive comments from Justin on Eminem though less than positive
comments on O-Town. Says Justin, "Eminem, it's cool to me. We got free
promotion on his album. ... We think he's talented." And of O-Town? "I'm
almost positive that they don't have a clue what's going on," says Timberlake.
"I kind of look back and I feel like that's what we were like."
January 24, 2001 - The rumors
of Justin leaving *NSYNC are gaining momentum with stories out today from
Katrillion and Chicago Sun-Times.
January 24, 2001 - Worldpop
has a review of *NSYNC's Rock in Rio show, summed up by saying, "Unlike
the mechanical performance from Britney, 'N Sync give us a passionate show
and are by far the best act of the night." Read more.
January 23, 2001 - Foxnews.com's
Roger Friedman reports Lance Bass has signed on to make his first movie
in a deal with Miramax called On the Line. The romantic comedy which will
star Bass involves him falling for a mystery girl. Bass also commented
on the Backstreet Boys rivalry saying, It's too bad. They've had some unfair
things to happen to them, which has kind of made them act mean to us."
Lance also found time to take a shot at Britney and her AMA performance
saying, "It seems like all the girls have major lip-synching," he said,
"and it's because there's so much dancing. Maybe because there are five
of us, someone can always fill in a voice when we're dancing. But, we never

Timberlake was quizzed by fans in an MSN online chat last night. Justin revealed the band will perform at the Grammys and that the new album
probably won't be only until Summer, with the first single out late spring.
January 22, 2001 - News of
the World reports that Britney and Justin spent three nights in the honeymoon
suite of the Intercontinental Rio hotel they were staying at. Rav reports
the two spent nearly all of their time in Rio in the $800/night room ordering
fried chicken, chips and cans of cola. A Britney spokesman told the tabloid,
"It was ideal for both Britney and Justin because they find it much easier
to relax when in each other’s company."
January 22, 2001 - Worldpop
reports Justin Timberlake refused to attend a press conference in Rio claiming
he had the flu but *NSYNC insiders say he was afraid of being asked about
Britney.

is reporting Britney Spears gushing about boyfriend Justin Timberlake,
where she admits, "When I went to high school and had boyfriends who weren't
even that serious they were the ones who ended up breaking my heart. "We'd

January 18, 2001 - E! Online's
Ted Casablanca reports *NSYNC's upcoming album may be their last, at least
for awhile, as the band focuses on their solo careers. Read more.

Kilborn was joking about Britney and Justin looking for a home in California,
saying Britney was wanting a place around Los Angeles while Justin was
more interested in Silicone Valley.

reported a quote from a fan who witnessed Britney and Justin in LA walking
under the Virgin umbrella who quipped, "I don't know if Britney and Justin
realized what they were doing. It could have just been her minder's umbrella,

parents in the show were trying to check their daughter's email, their
son said try "Timberlake" since she was a huge *NSYNC fan.
January 15, 2001 - During
his Tea with Ted chat, Ted Casablanca responded to a questioner who wondered
if Justin's comments on Larry King Live about the two not marrying anything
soon contradicted what he's been saying by responding, "I didn't say when,
dear heart. I just said it's in the works. And note that Just-babe did
not deny."

and the Daily Star are all running stories today that after Britney Spears
purchased a $3 million mansion, she will soon move in with Justin Timberlake.
They report that her parents are insisting the two get married before they
are allowed to live together which is prompting speculation the two are
planning a wedding this summer.
January 15, 2001 - In an
interview with Metal-Sludge.com, SR-71 singer Mitch Allan responded when
asked which rock star deserves a smack in the mouth and why, "Justin Timberlake
from *NSYNC... just because!" Mitch also predicted Carson Daly is "going
to explode one day and beat the sh** out of *NSYNC... I can't wait."
January 13, 2001 - Ryan Phillippe
was on the Tonight Show Friday and they brought up the whole Justin lookalike
angle. Ryan talked about the psychic on TRL who predicted he'd be replacing
Justin in the band this year and said he'd like a cut in what Justin's
getting, Jay joked that would be Britney Spears.
January 13, 2001 - Worldpop
reports *NSYNC may rake in $30 million between them if their Microsoft
deal takes off. They also report the band may do a pay per view webcast
together after the frenzy Madonna created on the web.
January 13, 2001 - In Spin's
Readers Poll 2000, *NSYNC was 2nd place to Limp Bizkit in the Worst Artist
category. Spin called the band "Marionette metaphors registering all too
well." *NSYNC also placed 3rd for Worst Album... again Limp Bizkit got
top honors.
January 13, 2001 - Allstar
reports Anheuser-Busch will feature footage of Joey, Justin, Chris, Lance
and J.C. going door-to-door to thank parents for discussing underage drinking
to their children. The spot will air during the Super Bowl.

is reporting that Britney Spears has been spending hours on the phone with
Macaulay Culkin after meeting her following one of her concerts in London.
They report Justin was furious with a source revealing, "Justin exploded
when he found out that Macaulay and Britney had made plans to meet up in
Los Angeles. He quickly got Macaulay on the phone and basically told him
to stay away from Britney or else. But Britney exploded when she

press for Justin and his treatment towards fans as music365.com reports
to a fan who told "A US website" (message board?), "He was pretty rude.
He just blew us off. He just walked past us so when we got angry and shouted
out at him, his bouncers turned on us. One of them called me 'a piece of
sh**'. There's no need for it. He has the fans to thank for where he is
today and really, at the end of the day, he's just another boy in another

January 10, 2001 - MTV Asia
reports Joey Fatone kept mum about his girlfriend and pregnancy rumors
at the People's Choice Awards Sunday. An eyewitness told MTV, ""She was
wearing a smock, and many people commented that she looked like she was
in the early stages of pregnancy."

appeared on Larry King just minutes ago. Some of the major highlights were
the announcement from Chris that he broke up with Dani. Also, Justin said

Aguilera's mother addressed rumors that her daughter and Justin Timberlake

Ted Casablanca is hearing that *NSYNC's Joey Fatone is going to be a father
according to pals. This prompted Ted to ask "why do I suddenly see this
boy band plummeting on the charts as they continue on the road to domesticity?"
Ted points to the rumors that Justin and Britney are planning on marriage
as well.
January 4, 2001 - Looks like
we now know where Britney and Justin were for New Year's Eve. The two were
seen cooking their own steaks at the Minturn Country Club near Denver.

by a Duo or Group With Vocal (Bye Bye Bye), and Best Pop Vocal Album (No

poll asking if they thought Justin Timberlake sees other women besides

January 2, 2001 - Those hoping
to see more of *NSYNC than the occasional shots of Lance at Roseland were
disappointed while watching the ABC and MTV New Year's coverage last night.
They did re-run the MSG show where they sang Bye Bye Bye... And we have
15 vidcaps of that, plus 1 of Lance at midnight.
January 2, 2001 - Not Justin
related, but the New York Post rated wrestler Chyna and *NSYNC's Joey Fatone
as the Un-Sixiest Couple in their Sixy Awards. The Post says, "They've
been spotted around together with increasing frequency, and the thought
of their union becoming more than platonic makes us shudder."
January 1, 2001 - Here's
29 video grabs from the TRL Top 40 of 2000 before *NSYNC's Bye Bye Bye
was introduced as the #1 TRL tune of the year. The infamous Tiffany who
went totally psycho after losing a TRL contest to an *NSYNC fan was named
the #1 TRL moment, threatening to kill Carson and her opponent... but who
cares? She's hot and this may be the only internet gallery of her pictures!
