June 29, 2001 - Jay Leno took a shot at boy bands in his monologue Thursday reacting to the Microsoft case being thrown out saying, "Hey, forget Microsoft. How about breaking up *NSYNC, Backstreet Boys and 98 Degrees? This is what we should be breaking up."

June 29, 2001 - JC tells J-14 he never washes his socks or underwear, "I wear them once and throw them out. When you're on the road, you don't want to mix... I'm just so used to throwing them out that I wouldn't even think of washing them."

June 29, 2001 - Joey Fatone tells MTVasia.com that *NSYNC has no plans on putting down the Backstreet Boys saying, "It's a friendly competition. They're out doing their job and we're out doing ours. It's like we timed it so perfectly, we released No Strings Attached and went out with one tour, the rumours of a rivalry started to fade and then Backstreet released Black & Blue and it gave them time to shine."

June 28, 2001 - The Bloodhound Gang's Jimmy Pop talked to MTV.com about *NSYNC appearing on their next album saying, "They're cool with it; we just need to make sure their people are cool with it." Read more.

June 28, 2001 - MTVasia.com reports *NSYNC looks to have won the boyband battle and are tipped to break their own first week sales record of 2.4 million with the release of their "Celebrity" album in July. Read more. [Personally, I think they'll sell around 1.5 million.]

June 28, 2001 - Rich Cronin and LFO were on with eYada.com's Joanna Molloy yesterday talking about their new album and Rich somewhat slammed *NSYNC for having a choreographed show. Unfortunately that was the final show to broadcast as eYada has joined the dotcom deadpool as the web continues to disintegrate so as of writing this, no archive.

June 27, 2001 - Worldpop reports Justin Timberlake has been going to local gyms during *NSYNC's PopOdssey tour to weight train, leading some to believe he's prepping himself for the Challenge for the Children charity event which will have a basketball game and Sumo wrestling.

June 21, 2001 - The Chicago Sun Time's Bill Zwecker reports *NSYNC were spotted clubbing all over Chicago over the weekend, where Britney Spears also came to town to spend time with Justin. He ads there was a 'testy scene' between Justin and a couple of bandmates over a woman they were vying for at the nightclub Kustom.

June 16, 2001 - Jive Records is considering suing Kramer and Twitch following the shock jock's rumor that Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake had been involved in a fatal car crash.

A spokesperson said, "We want some redress, as we do take this sort of thing very, very seriously. We're currently talking to our solicitors." The BBC website is configured so that addresses ending with @ followed by an IP would redirect to that site, causing confusion that BBC was actually the source.

June 14, 2001 - Worldpop reports many are wondering if a new anonymously written book allegedly about Lou Pearlman entitled Pop Pimp: From Planes To Preteens is written by members of *NSYNC or the Backstreet Boys. Worldpop though joked that they didn't know the two bands could write.

June 9, 2001 - Worldpop reports Moby attended the *NSYNC show  at Giants Stadium, New Jersey on Wednesday and was actually impressed saying, "I went for the same reason my father went to see the Beatles at Shea Stadium in 1964 to see the teen phenomenon up close, and what a phenomenon it was. I have to say the concert was one of the most technically impressive I have ever seen. The boys are smart and funny. I was impressed."

June 8, 2001 - Worldpop reports *NSYNC is set to sing the American National Anthem at the Jayson Williams Celebrity Softball Challenge at the end of next month. Kylie Bax and Penny Marshall are lined up to participate in the game where proceeds benefit the Jayson Williams Foundation.

June 8, 2001 - The New York Daily News reports *NSYNC disappointed those at Roseland as the last act of a benefit concert for the Candie's Foundation since the guys only sang one song following a performance earlier that evening at Giants Stadium. Though they claimed they were tired, the band immediately left to hang out at Spa.
