March 31, 2002 - George M. Thomas of the Beacon Journal reports Regal Cinemas' Montrose Movies 12 is one of the first sites testing the latest entertainment concept combining technology with pop culture -- using *NSYNC in concert. The technology, called InTheater blends concert footage with a nightclub atmosphere, peeks behind stage with digital video and audio. Read more.

March 31, 2002 - Launch.com reports Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi recently shot the music video for his single 'Secret' in Miami in preparation for the release of his debut English-language album, 'Fight The Feeling'. The singer was helped out by *NSYNC's Joey Fatone who made his directorial debut on the video. Read more.

March 31, 2002 - Tammy Swift of The Forum reports *NSYNC hit the Rob Zombie concert at the Fargo Civic and the Northern Gentlemen’s Club in Fargo Thursday night. Tom Blair, operations manager at the Northern said of the guys, "They brought an entourage and a whole bunch. Everyone who was 21 and above, they were here." He added, "They had a few drinks and had a great time. Were they well-behaved? Absolutely. … There were no problems, no fights. But then we have a pretty dang good security staff." Read more.

March 31, 2002 - Ahead of their show in Des Moines, Chris Kirkpatrick of *NSYNC spoke with Greg Chance and Blake. Chris said there probably won't be any more releases off 'Celebrity' and that they'll be working on a new album after the tour wraps up. He also described a go-cart race the guys in the band had earlier where he almost broke his toe. Chris says he has a small label he's putting together right now to help other acts put their foot in the door. He talked about his clothing line that will have a men's line launch in Australia in two months. Listen to the 4 minute clip here. March 31, 2002 - Associated Press reports veteran rocker David Crosby of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young took a break from his "Tour of America" to assess the current crop of musicians. Crosby said, "There's some good people out there, but there's a lot of fluff. Things like *NSYNC and Britney. These people are about as deep as a birdbath." Read more.

March 30, 2002 - US Weekly reports *NSYNC star Justin Timberlake is set to make a solo attempt after the group finishes their tour in April. An insider revealed, "Justin wants to go solo in every part of his life. He wants to be a bachelor, and he's looking forward to doing his own album." Much like Sisqo's solo venture that saw the demise of Dru Hill, the insider adds, "If he doesn't do well, he'll be back with them... but if it does well, he'll break off." A spokesperson for Jive is still denying Timberlake's plans for a solo album, despite numerous quotes, and business meetings with Justin, from artists indicating otherwise.

March 30, 2002 - Well anyone doubting if Justin Timberlake of *NSYNC is plotting a solo career may be interested in visiting WeAreNow.com, a website representing various artists. March 30, 2002 - Shannon McCarthy of Get Real Detroit got to chat with *NSYNC's JC Chasez and Chris Kirkpatrick where they returned the praise that Gene Simmons of KISS had recently given them. Chris said, "You know, we’re huge fans of theirs. We’ve been to their shows a couple times last year. They’re another one of those groups that, not only were they a great band, but they had great music." As for both band's licensed merchandise, JC joked, "Yeah, they have more crap out than we do!" March 29, 2002 - Justin Timberlake of *NSYNC called in to the Doug Banks radio show this morning from Fargo, North Dakota to talk about the tour and his sighting with Alicia Keys. Justin said of the Keys meeting, "Yeah we did have lunch," adding "Well it was business related." He added coyly, "Come on you know I wouldn't tell you anyway." Read the entire transcript here.

March 29, 2002 - Foxnews.com's Roger Friedman is commenting on the breakup of Britney Spears and *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake, as well as his lunch with Alicia Keys. Friedman said, "When Britney made her startling admission to me — that she didn't know who Yoko Ono or Linda McCartney were — Justin and the gang ferociously mocked her. In fact, even Justin's mom — who seemed quite nice — was incredulous." Friedman also says the two "had almost no physical contact all night." Read more.

March 29, 2002 - Y-100's Fay reports Justin Timberlake of *NSYNC went through $250,000 during a non-stop 24 hour party during his time in Las Vegas. After his MGM concert, Justin went straight to the casino where he proceded to lose $30,000 at craps. Afterwards, he jumped into his limo where he and his friends were taken to a post-concert V.I.P. party, where they were greeted by a dozen strippers. Sources say Justin was tossing $100's in the air screaming "God bless America!" as the strippers scrambled for the cash. Justin went back to the casino where he lost additional 10's of thousands before returning to his hotel suite that was already host to a wild party. Timberlake reportedly bragged the next morning that he had slept with four girls.

March 29, 2002 - Jon Bream of the Star Tribune was on a conference call last month with Justin Timberlake, Lance Bass, and Joey Fatone of *NSYNC where Justin talked about their cross collaborations -- Nelly on the remix of their track 'Girlfriend', and *NSYNC's role in Nelly's upcoming release, 'Nellyville'. Justin said, "I was really, really excited just because I thought his first album was a great, great record, and I personally consider him a blues singer, you know -- even though everybody thinks he's a rapper -- because he's got a really good voice. March 29, 2002 - Tara Ariano of the National Post is giving her thoughts on all the chaos that Britney Spears rumored breakup with Justin Timberlake of *NSYNC is causing in the media. Tara writes, "The breakup would not be remarkable in the least were it not for the way the entertainment press is pouncing on Britney's few comments and dissecting them as though she were the Delphic oracle pronouncing a latter-day riddle of the Sphinx." March 29, 2002 - Elysa Gardner of USA Today spoke with music and gossip insiders on word that Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake of *NSYNC have split up. Rob Roberts of WHYI-FM in Miami said, "Their star power has been amplified by each other. It's a publicist's dream relationship." Roberts says Timberlake is better positioned for future success saying, "Justin has been a little more groundbreaking, while Britney has been a little more predictable." Read more.

March 28, 2002 - Star magazine reports Britney Spears is a basket case following her breakup with *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake. They report problems erupted after Britney accused Justin of flirting with a waitress. Britney had quickly left a party in Los Angeles after spending 30 minutes in the bathroom talking on the phone with Justin when he broke the news. An onlooker revealed, "I heard a friend who was with her say: 'He's not much of a man if he dumps you over the phone,' and Britney burst into tears." Read more.

March 28, 2002 - Star magazine reports an 11-year-old boy who with her mother and father arrived to an *NSYNC show in San Francisco just as it was wrapping up was devastated to miss his favorite band. He and his family explained they were hung up in traffic and that they'd missed the show to one of the group's security guards. After the guard asked them to leave their name and number, he promised to try and help them out. The *NSYNC guys when told about the story insisted the family be sent free tickets to their next concert in the area and made sure they were advised to leave home earlier next time.

March 28, 2002 - After the much rumored lunch date between Alicia Keys and *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake, pictures have been found. The rest is up for speculation, as always. Check out the 11 pictures of the pair here.

March 28, 2002 - MTV News reports Britney Spears' admission of being single was a joke that later had the singer accept a proposal of marriage from Big Breakfast presenter Richard Bacon, who later staged a mock wedding between the two. After exchanging their "I do's", Britney said, "I'm married, mom! Let's go on our honeymoon. Let's leave now and go to Vegas, baby!" Bacon wanted to hit a nearby lodge to seal the deal, but Britney sneared, "Um, yeah, OK." Britney's handlers nabbed the marriage certificate application after the cameras stopped rolling. Read more.

March 28, 2002 - Well Entertainment Tonight's and Access Hollywood's spin (and several other news reports I saw) on the Britney Spears appearance on Big Breakfast Wednesday morning was that she is single, as she made no reference to Justin Timberlake of *NSYNC. That would make the wedding portion of the show a joke, but she was single when she said "I'm single... right now."

March 28, 2002 - Beat.com.au spoke with KISS guitarist Gene Simmons on whether he thinks today's top pop acts will have 30-year careers like his band and The Rolling Stones. Simmons replied, "At the end of the day the only thing that matters is – of the people, for the people, by the people. If the people like it, then that’s the end of it. You and I could sit on the sidelines and say 'ah yes, but it doesn’t last for 30 years' and 'ah yes, but it’s not like my music'. I’m a big fan of Brittney Spears and *NSYNC and anyone that does what they do well." Read more.

March 27, 2002 - Pictured here, Justin Timberlake of *NSYNC was spotted at a nightclub in Los Angeles on Friday night with whom Entertainment Tonight identified as a dancer who had appeared in one of *NSYNC's videos. The couple is said to have partied all night and left together. Meanwhile, former girlfriend Britney Spears when asked at a press conference in London if she was in an intense relationship answered, "I wouldn't say an intense relationship."

March 27, 2002 - G. Brown of the Denver Post was also at last night's *NSYNC show and also gave the show a bad review. Brown wrote, "As everyone saw at this year's Olympics closing ceremony, *NSYNC's songs have mutated into overstuffed monsters. At the Pepsi Center, 'Bye Bye Bye' had all the melodic force of, well, a Chili's commercial." Read more.

March 27, 2002 - Mark Brown of The Rocky Mountain News was at Monday night's *NSYNC concert held at Denver's Pepsi Center and didn't leave very happy. Brown said the group put "on a tired, repetitive performance that fans have already paid for in the past." Brown added, "Critics keep wishfully thinking that the boy-band trend is dying out but, if anything, it's committing suicide. Sure, the natural expiration date is coming up fast, but the band is hastening its own demise with this tour, a clear attempt to cash in while the cash is still there." Read more.

March 27, 2002 - The New York Post reports *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake was spotted having a cozy two-hour lunch together on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. The two were 'laughing and giggling' and having a great time according to a spy. After they departed, the two hugged and kissed. Read more.

March 26, 2002 - CDNow.com reports Will Smith was asked on the red carpet of Sunday evening's Oscars what he thought about the alledged breakup of Justin Timberlake of *NSYNC and Britney Spears. Will said, "They are a wonderful couple and they should work it out." Will and wife Jada Pinkett Smith had to exit the Oscars early because one of their children had a high fever and ear infection. 

March 26, 2002 - MSNBC reports executives at Radio Shack are hopeful following the weekend of medical examinations Lance Bass of *NSYNC underwent at Russia's Institute of Biomedical Problems. RadioShack's Jim McDonald said Monday, "I think he made a very, very positive impression, both in terms of his healthfulness and also his attitude." Lance is back with *NSYNC for tonight's concert in Denver. Read more.

March 26, 2002 - Mark Brown of the Rocky Mountain News profiled *NSYNC ahead of their show at the Pepsi Center in Denver. Again using excerpts from JC and Chris Kirkpatrick's recent press conference, Brown says the subject of Milli Vanilli was broached where JC said, "It was great stuff, and I don't care who sang it. It sounded good." As for whether there was a formula with *NSYNC, Chasez added, "There's no formula. We never really had a formula in the first place. We just do what we do." Read more.

March 26, 2002 - The Associated Press reports *NSYNC's Lance Bass left Russia on Monday after undergoing a series of health tests in a bid to blast into space onboard a Russian rocket. The Russian space agency told Interfax news agency on Monday that it has not yet received an official application from Bass. Read more.

March 26, 2002 - Smash Mouth's guitarist and chief songwriter Greg Camp talked with Mark Brown of the Rocky Mountain News about their unsual pairing with a pop act like *NSYNC on the road. Camp admits, "At first we were like 'No way, uh-uh, forget it.' Then we were like, 'OK, let's wait a minute and think about this. We're playing arenas, some places two nights in a row. We'll be playing in front of a lot of people." Read more.

March 26, 2002 - The New York Post is in glee after Britney Spears finally broke down and admitted during a press conference in London that she's "not [in] an intense relationship with anyone at the moment." The media at the conference were warned not to ask about *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake, her 'virginity', or September 11. The Post had orginally broken the story that the couple had split two weeks ago.

March 26, 2002 - Britney Spears said Monday at a British news conference for 'Crossroads' that she's not "in an intense relationship with anyone," fueling speculation that she and *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake have broken up. Britney later told ITV, "People talk about my private life. That goes with what I do. You have to accept that," she said. "But if they ask about it, I say it's none of your business." Read more.

March 25, 2002 - NSYNC's online spokesperson Melinda Bell posted another update from the road today. Melinda told fans, "Ok now that we are up to date...The tour has been going great! It is such a special show and the guys really love the intimacy it has so they can get close to their fans. We have been seeing our Chili's fans in every city...you guys are great sponsors. Always so nice at our sound check parties. We are starting to head east now, slowly. We are playing Denver this monday it was snowing when we pulled into town...yes I got my wish but still it wasnt like a snow storm or anything." Read more.

March 25, 2002 - The big story in this week's National Enquirer alledging that the romance between Britney Spears and *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake ended after Spears got a false positive pregnancy test and Justin was spooked afterwards has been posted. A source told the tabloid, "Justin was even more freaked out than Britney when she told him an abortion was out of the question. She said if it turned out that she really was pregnant, there would be only one solution--they'd have to get married right away." Apparently Justin wasn't going for that idea.

March 25, 2002 - Searches for Lance Bass of *NSYNC picked up a bit in February on early word that the singer would make an attempt to fly into outerspace later this year. While still getting less than 1/3 of the searches that *NSYNC's most popular member Justin Timberlake got, he still nabbed 22,724 searches during the month on pay per search engine Overture.com. Among the top searches besides the space related ones were for Lance and rumored ex girlfriend Danielle Fishel as well as some searches on whether Lance is gay. March 23, 2002 - Someone typed up the article that is in the latest US Weekly, which is mostly a rehash of various reports and comments from insiders about the split between *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears. A friend of the couple said, "They tend to do that break up-to-make-up thing, but not this time. They done."

March 23, 2002 - Lance Bass of *NSYNC arrived in Moscow on Friday in hopes of becoming the first celebrity in space. Bass told reporters at his hotel, "Its been my life-long dream. I've always wanted to do it and I want to see if I can do it." As for his bandmates' impression of his space dreams, he said, "Ha ha. They love it. They're all saying they'd never do anything like that. But I guess there's something in me. I just want to do it so bad." Read more.

March 22, 2002 - MTV Primtime Players reported Thusday night that a spokesperson for Britney Spears said the singer has scrapped plans to use the 'Pinky' nickname given to her by *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake for her new restaurant scheduled to open during May on East 41st Street in New York. The eatery will be run by restaurateur Bobby Ochs, who has previously teamed with celebrities Marla Maples and Patrick Swayze, and will feature moderately priced American bistro.

March 22, 2002 - The New York Post is going as far as saying Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake's publicist Lisa Kasteler is looking like a liar in her denial the couple had split. They report the *NSYNC star was spotted boozing it up with six exotic bombshells as the group downed six trays of kamikaze shots at Las Vegas Hard Rock hotel nightclub Baby's before all of them left together in Timberlake's limo. A spy told the Post, "He sure didn't seem to be missing Britney."

March 22, 2002 - The National Enquirer reports Justin Timberlake got spooked out of his relationship of more than two years with girlfriend Britney Spears after she took a pregnancy test that came back positive. A source told the tabloid, "Britney and Justin had sex, yes, sex, all the time." Fortunately it was a false alarm, but enough to scare off the *NSYNC star.

March 22, 2002 - Bill Zwecker of the Chicago Sun Times spoke with a close friend of *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake on the conflicting reports he and Britney Spears are split up. The friend said, "There may be second thoughts on both sides. ...They may get back together, but believe me, they are not together now." March 22, 2002 - Travis took part in an online chat on BBC's Radio 1 where they were asked "What do you think of manufactured bands like Hear'Say?" The guys responded:
Dougie Payne: I think it's fantastic TV but it's not really about music, is it?
Andy Dunlop: Some of the manufactured bands have great songs. They work just as hard.

March 22, 2002 - MSNBC reports *NSYNC star Lance Bass is taking a break from the Celebrity 2002 tour to go to Moscow for a medical exam to see if he's up to the task of journeying into outer space. If he clears the tests and negotiations to get him on board the Soyuz capsule are successful by May, he could become the first celebrity to enter outer space. The reported $20 million would be financed by a reality TV show documenting his mission. Read more.

March 22, 2002 - Aex Band and Aaron Kamin of The Calling were on KISS 92 in Toronto March 9 for a interview/performance and they were asked about boy bands. Alex said, "I think people just got burned out on the whole create a band good looking nothing else..." Adding, "I won't rag on *NSYNC or anything like that because they're entertainment. It's like a Vegas act... it's entertainment, but it's not something that will move you because it's not passionate. They didn't write it, they don't have the passion for it I don't think." Later in the interview Alex talked about giving Aaron Carter's gold record on the wall of the KISS 92 studios the finger because he keeps getting told he looks like him... and he's getting sick of it. March 21, 2002 - Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears spokeswoman Lisa Kasteler tells USA Today that rumors of the couple being broken up are untrue. Lisa insisted, "They love each other very much and have not broken up. To set it straight, both of them are very busy and focusing on their careers... The demands on their time have naturally created a significant time apart, which could be misconstrued as a more permanent situation. As for spottings in clubs, they are both young and like to dance." Read more.

March 21, 2002 - Michael D. Clark of the Houston Chronicle was on hand at Monday's *NSYNC concert at the Compaq Center. Clark said good things about the show in comparisons to his thoughts on their PopOdyssey stop eight months earlier. Clark wrote, "As a listening experience, it was certainly better in the Compaq Center than in the cavernous Reliant Astrodome. Visually, this show wasn't the fantasyland of PopOdyssey, but it was easier to separate the group's artistry from its props. Most importantly for *NSYNC, Celebrity 2002 is a more mature show, an important step if the group plans to keep appealing to the more than 13,000 fans at Compaq as they get older." Read more.

March 21, 2002 - Glenn Gamboa of Newsday was at last week's South by Southwest Music Conference where he spoke with Jeff McClusky, president of Chicago-based radio promotion company McClusky and Associates about the record industry's need for someone new to boost sales. McClusky said, "There's a lot of looking for the Next Big Thing, especially as it seems Britney, *NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys have run their course. They drew massive sales for a period of time. The emphasis now goes to finding what the next trend is. Right now, there isn't a Thing." Read more.

Diddy' Combs' decision to open for *NSYNC on selected dates of their Celebrity 2002 tour has many in the record biz raising their eyebrows as he seeks a new deal for Bad Boy at the same time. March 21, 2002 - Norm Clarke of the Las Vegas Review Journal reports *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake was spotted Saturday night at Baby's in Hard Rock Hotel. While drinking Christal champagne at the place, Justin requested hip-hop music to be played... The Request was approved, and within half a minute, the joint rocked.

March 21, 2002 - Britney Spears phoned in with JoJo on KIIS FM in Los Angeles last week to talk about her new tour. JoJo asked her about a bunch of what her favorites choices are, her toes, movie plans, her music, clothing line plans, her sister, and the hang-up portion when JoJo mentioned what's up between her and *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake. March 21, 2002 - The Sunday Mail spoke with Britney Spears' ex boyfriend Reggie Jones, who admitted to being pleased to hear news that Spears and *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake have reportedly split. Reg said, "Am I pleased? Of course I am. Give me another chance Britney." Read more.

March 20, 2002 - Candie's, Inc. announced today its tour ticket promotion with *NSYNC on their current Celebrity 2002 tour. Candie's has developed a dual in-store promotion for consumers and sales associates, which includes an exclusive sound-check party in each city, which entitles winners to see the boys rehearse for their big performance later that evening. Candie's is also giving consumers in each market the chance to win tickets to a sold out concert by *NSYNC. Despite all of the corporate sponsorship and what *NSYNC admits is a scaled back show, ticket prices are topping $100 for preferred seating. Read more.

March 20, 2002 - Joey Fatone of *NSYNC was featured on MTV's Total Request Live on Tuesday to talk about being a father and dealing with the media. Fatone said, "Oh, I just laugh at it. I mean, 'cause for me, I was datin' Chyna and somebody else and all this other stuff and people found out obviously I had a kid so I have almost a year-old daughter now and it's been wonderful. People make up rumors and lie and all that stuff. That's true. She's almost a year old. Here I can actually talk about it, she's on the road with me right now." Read more.

March 20, 2002 - The Hollywood Reporter says Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC, and R. Kelly are amongst those that will their music in a new format intended to replace the CD. Jive Records will be the first label to commit their roster to the new DataPlay format. DataPlay discs are the size of a large coin in a clear plastic shell that hold more than 11 hours of compressed music files. Read more.

March 19, 2002 - The Las Vegas Review Journal reports for some reason Justin Timberlake of *NSYNC was turned away from Light, the Bellagio's new nightclub, at 1 a.m. on Sunday (perhaps someone in his group was under 21 or it was 'last call'). A member of Timberlake's party made a call to the Hard Rock where they were warmly greeted by the club's new boss Don Marrandino, who put them up in the VIP section of Baby's.

March 19, 2002 - Joey Fatone of *NSYNC spoke with MTV News about his movie role in the independent film 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding,' which hits theaters April 14. Fatone said of the role, "Obviously it can get old or tiring after a while and you're like, 'I want little bit of a change. [So you] go do a movie. Be a character. Be nutty. Be silly. Whatever the case may be. And then you're like, 'OK, well, now I can be creative and go back to doing writing and dancing and performing with '*NSYNC.'" Read more.

March 19, 2002 - News of the World spoke with Britney Spears for her comments on reports she's broken up with *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake. Britney explained, "We haven't split up. I love Justin and we are still together." Britney admitted to having an argument with Justin, "We had a huge row which ended in us both slamming the phone down but things are OK now. We are trying to find time to see each other but our schedules are just too busy." As for all the hoopla, a record executive said, "There's been Britney hysteria since the Justin story blew up. But it doesn't do any harm to record sales. In fact it helps sell more singles."

March 18, 2002 - According to a forum posting at abstracts.net, Britney Spears was interviewed by JoJo from KIIS FM this weekend where she talked briefly about her clothing line and her sister. JoJo then said, "Now I know I'm not supposed to ask you this, but what's up with you and Justin?" Britney's quick response, "Oh my God.... my rides here, I gotta go!" and then she just hangs up the phone.

March 18, 2002 - Norm Clarke of the Las Vegas Review Journal spoke with an *NSYNC spokeswoman Saturday night when the group did their radio promotion in The Palms High Roller Lounge. Melinda Bell says the group is taking "a little hiatus" of about eight months and should be back together by early next year. She explained, "They have not had one day off in five years." And as for the persistent rumors that Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears have ended their longtime relationship, she said it was "just a rumor. They are all laughing about it; Justin's laughing about it." Rumors had it that Britney was at Friday's *NSYNC show at MGM Grand in the VIP section with a hat pulled low.

March 17, 2002 - The Herald Sun reports Britney Spears was devastated after seeing photos of her *NSYNC boyfriend Justin Timberlake kissing the same woman outside a Mexican restaurant that he reportedly was dirty dancing with at a club in Los Angeles. She had planned to join her boyfriend at her new $9 million Miami penthouse in a break from touring later this month, but after seeing the photos she abruptly left the Paris premiere of Crossroads and booked a flight home to Louisiana. March 16, 2002 - Kirk Baird of the Las Vegas Sun previewed this weekend's *NSYNC shows in Vegas using many of the quotes from JC Chasez and Chris Kirkpatrick's press conference a month ago. Chris said of the Celebrity tour's difference from last year's Pop Odyssey tour, "So (this tour) is basically a good musical enhancement of the album now. People have had time sleep with the album and then come in and say, 'Oh, I know these songs now, I'm ready for the 'NSync show,' rather than (saying), 'I can't wait to go to the show to hear what the new stuff is.'" March 16, 2002 - Chris Ryall of the Dallas Observer gave his thoughts on *NSYNC ahead of their show at the Reunion Arena on March 20. Ryall blasted, "See, part of it is that I just don't get *NSYNC. (And why should I?) They followed the Backstreet Boys, and by all rights, should have signaled to everyone that these contrived pop bands were on the way out, and helped kill the whole scene so we could return to Real Music. March 16, 2002 - Ramiro Burr of the San Antonio Express-News spoke with Smash Mouth guitarist/songwriter Greg Camp about the move to open for a pop group like *NSYNC. Camp said, "We're on the same airwaves as *NSYNC. But we write our own songs, we play our own instruments, and we actually sing live. And they're a track act, they're a boy band. Artistically, it's not really the coolest thing in the world.'' Camp added, "We'll be playing for 20,000 people. There's a percentage of those people that knows who we are but don't have our album. March 16, 2002 - US Weekly reports *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake broke the news to girlfriend Britney Spears that their romance was over from Tacoma on March 4 while Britney was in Los Angeles (there were several reports Britney was in Seattle). A source said Justin was "under a lot of pressure these days. He's embarking on a solo career at the end of April. It can take its toll on young lovers." A source close to Britney added, "They are on the rocks, but no one's saying why." Before Monday's concert in Anaheim, a young boy asked Timberlake if the rumors were true and Justin replied, "Girls are trouble; stay away from them." Another said the pair could just be having temporary problems, "They tend to fight a lot."

March 16, 2002 - NSYNC members Justin Timberlake, Lance Bass, JC Chasez and Chris Kirkpatrick will take part in a blackjack competition along with 10 lucky fans at the Palms High Roller Lounge on Saturday night. The event is part of a KLUC FM98.5 promotion. Meanwhile, JC and Justin's Micky Mouse Club pal Tony Lucca will open for the group at tonight's show at the MGM Grand.

March 15, 2002 - Larry Rodgers of The Arizona Republic spoke with music insiders on how *NSYNC has been able to stay popular while boyband rivals Backstreet Boys drop off the charts and 98 Degrees go on a 'hiatus.' Danny Zelisko of Clear Channel Entertainment explained, "How can you ever stop loving them if they won't go away? They're in your face; they just don't stop touring." He added, "These guys come around just enough, and they always put on a great show. They get just the right commercial with the right sense of humor or appear on the right show." Read more.

March 15, 2002 - E! Online gossip guru Ted Casablanca weighed in on the much rumored split between Britney Spears and *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake when asked by a reader. Ted said, "Officially, of course, Brit-babe has denied the split-up rumor. But unofficially, a B&J insider weighed in with this: 'My gut says there are probs for them; otherwise, why would Brit ever hang out with Tara Reid? Maybe they didn't break up, but I'm rather confident they're having some issues. My guess is she would be the hottest ticket on the Hollywood scene, should they break up.'"

March 14, 2002 - The Sun did a weeks after the fact story on Justin Timberlake's lunch date with a mystery brunette, which they cite as perhaps the same woman he was spotted dirty dancing with a few days ago at Hollywood nightclub A.D. An insider that witnessed the meeting told the Sun, "Justin’s lunch date was so cloak and dagger. They arrived separately at a Mexican restaurant but she joined him at his table and they ate together for over an hour." Read more.

March 14, 2002 - The Sun reports Britney Spears will head back home alone to visit her mother after her European promotional tour that had several cancellations along the way, including a 'Top Of The Pops' appearance. A source said, "Britney’s world has collapsed and she’s in tatters. Her fairytale life has turned into a nightmare." March 14, 2002 - Famous cross-dresser Ru Paul [one-hit wonder with 'Supermodel'] and a pal checked out the *NSYNC concert at the Pond in Anaheim Tuesday night. Ru said, "I had a great time and let me tell you, I’m not the biggest *NSYNC fan either. The average age at the event was 14. There was one male for every 20 females. It was almost as much fun studying the audience as it was watching the show. Everybody screaming their lungs out for their favorite *NSYNC. My fave is Joey, the one who plays the 'big brother', and I also love JC, who plays the 'Falcon Porn Star' of the group." Read more.

March 14, 2002 - The Toronto Star reports Sonia Muckle, VP of publicity at Jive Records is denying reports that Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake of *NSYNC have broken off their two year plus relationship. Muckle refused to say more. "We do not comment on her private life," she said. Britney's L.A. publicist, Lisa Kasteler, refused comment on the story.

March 14, 2002 - MTV News spoke with Nelly about a surprise collaboration on his new album, 'Nellyville', due out June 25. Nelly will be teaming up with Justin Timberlake of *NSYNC on a track as he explained, "He's a cool dirty. Once I found out he was from Memphis, that sewed it up for me. I was like, 'OK, I see you in a whole new light. You Memphis family.' I meet up with [him] at different parties. It's hard [to hang out] 'cause he's crazy busy. I'm ripping and running as well. March 13, 2002 - Tonight's Access Hollywood played the clip of Britney Spears denying the much reported breakup with *NSYNC's Justin Timberlake on MTV Italy. Many are questioning Britney's credibility after her seemingly insincere and unconvincing response where the singer looked away, rolled her eyes around, and smirked.

March 13, 2002 - Australia's Hot 30 will be featuring Britney Spears tonight (Wednesday there) as radio host Kyle will be interviewing her about the much reported split. March 13, 2002 - AJ's Playhouse of channel 93.3 spoke with *NSYNC's Chris Kirkpatrick as we reported yesterday. The clip is now online and Chris talks about the band's addiction to the video game Halo, he also revealed plans for Justin Timberlake to do a solo album, and Lance Bass going into space, which will cause the band to take at least a couple of month break. March 12, 2002 - Christie Griffin of the Indiana Daily Student spoke with MTVSpring Break casting director Michael Petolino about the work that goes into making the MTV Spring Break episodes airing the week of March 22. Petolino said, "The shows looks spontaneous and last minute, but there's a lot of work that goes into it." Indiana sophomore Lora Melton shared details behind her appearance last year with a performance to *NSYNC's 'Bye Bye Bye' with four of her friends. March 10, 2002 - The Enquirer reports Justin Timberlake whacked a 300 yard drive when golfing at a club in Los Angeles recently, but left a deep divot behind. A member of the next group of golfers saw what happened and went after him. The golfer fumed to Timberlake that stars aren't exempt from golfing etiquette. The *NSYNC singer trudged back and patted the sod over his divot afterwards.

March 10, 2002 - The New York Post reports Britney Spears has broken up with her *NSYNC boyfriend Justin Timberlake. Britney was spotted drowning her sorrows with party animal Tara Reid at Les Deux Cafe in Hollywood on Monday night, and again the next night at the Standard... But wait a minute, Spears was spotted by several people at the *NSYNC concert in Tacoma, also on Monday night, many claiming to have gotten her autograph. March 9, 2002 - Rob Morse of the San Francisco Chronicle reports three of the guys from *NSYNC (who were not named, but didn't include Justin Timberlake) were spotted at Larry Flynt's Hustler Club in North Beach on Tuesday night. The trio hung out in the club's VIP room for 3 1/2 hours where they "got a little wild and sang to the waitresses in." They also offered to buy a $1000 lapdance from a non-dancer, but she (assuming that the person was a she anyways) turned them down.

They were right there next to me. Like whoa!" She also said Britney was at the *NSYNC show later and she met her and got Spears' autograph. March 7, 2002 - Associated Press reports Joey Fatone's girlfriend and mother to his daughter Briahna were involved in an emergency landing at Texarkana Regional Airport after a cockpit fire Tuesday. AP must not have known the relationship as they made no mention of it, but she told them she placed her 11-month-old daughter, Briahna, on the floor of the plane on a blanket and pillow and held her during the landing. Fortunately, none of the 99 passengers on a United Airlines 757 were injured. Read more.

March 7, 2002 - Marian Liu of the San Jose Mercury News reported still more excerpts from *NSYNC's recent telephone press conference as the group is in the area this week for shows in Northern California. While this early into the show stagnation wouldn't be a problem, Chris Kirkpatrick says it never is for the group. "Some kids got their tickets three months before and every day mark on a calendar," he said. "So with us doing a show every night, we can't get stagnant. March 7, 2002 - Roger Moore of the Orlando Sentinel spoke with Samantha Mumba about her role in the upcoming film 'The Time Machine' and also asked about her singing career which included a stint opening for Orlando's own *NSYNC. March 7, 2002 - Pam Sitt of the Seattle Times was at Monday's *NSYNC show in Tacoma and gave her thoughts on the band's rock-driven show, with covers of the Beatles and Temptations. Sitt said of the show scaled back from the group's usual excessive pyrotechnics, "Perhaps *NSYNC has become comfortable enough in its own celebrity skin to strip its tour down to the bare essentials. The group's aim to make the show solely about the music was refreshing in some ways, but probably not what a 10-year-old paid up to $110 to see." Read more.

March 7, 2002 - Jeannette Walls of MSNBC reports an insider close to *NSYNC has revealed the group plans on splitting by fall. The source said, "It's not like they don’t get along, they just have their own interests and would like to pursue solo careers. They’ve been together for something like four years now, and in the pop world, that’s a lifetime." The person cited as being most eager on going solo for good was Justin Timberlake: "Britney’s very supportive of him being solo, but I don’t think she’s a divisive factor. She’s not Yoko Ono." March 6, 2002 - Westlife were on Radio 1 to chat with host Jamie Theakston where they discussed the popularity of fellow boy bands *NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys. When Jamie tried calling BSB 'rubbish', Westlife insisted, "No honestly they're not very successful here, but they are everywhere else." As for *NSYNC, the boys said, "They're good."Again, Jamie said *NSYNC were also rubbish, but Westlife countered, "I think they've taken pop music to a new extreme when it comes to production. March 5, 2002 - Chris Macias of Teen Music was in on the conference call *NSYNC recently had and reports when Jusitn Timberlake was asked if he ever got tired of singing the band's popular tunes replied, "Yeah, there are definitely songs that, you sing them for the thousandth time and they start to get a little bit (old). You start to feel like your whole stage show is a bit redundant. But ... if I go see the Stones, I definitely want them to play 'Satisfaction.' And I'm sure Mick Jagger isn't crazy about playing the song anymore just because he's played it every day he's been on tour. But the fans want to see it and they want to hear it." Read more.

When asked if the guy's decisions on what type of music is released is controlled by a formula either they come up with or someone else. JC insists, "Well, there is no formula. March 2, 2002 - Gene Stout of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer previewed Monday's *NSYNC show at the Tacoma Dome. Stout stuck up for the boy-band movement saying, "Though critics have been eager to write an epitaph for the boy-band phenomenon, *NSYNC, the Backstreet Boys and others of their ilk are still selling millions of albums and launching mammoth tours. March 2, 2002 - Patrick MacDonald of the Seattle Times profiled what *NSYNC's been up to ahead of their show on Monday at the Tacoma Dome. MacDonald opined on the high ticket prices saying, "Maybe one reason why 'N Sync's concert Monday is not sold out is the ticket price. The best seats go for $110. That's a lot of babysitting. Even the nosebleed 300-section tickets are steep — $40. It's expensive keeping your little princess happy, isn't it, Mom and Dad?" Read more.

March 2, 2002 - Justin Timberlake called in to Z100 in Portland ahead of *NSYNC's opening night concert there on Sunday. Justin talked about his acting gigs on SNL and girlfriend Britney Spears' job in doing 'Crossroads.' Justin insisted that if the couple ever get married he'll be the first to come out and say it. March 2, 2002 - Foxnews.com's Roger Friedman reports Britney Spears showed an incredible lack of knowledge on the subject of musical history, having no idea who both Yoko Ono or Linda McCartney were. Britney explained, "I'm sorry, I'm very young." Meanwhile, insiders tell Roger that her *NSYNC boyfriend Justin Timberlake has a solo album that is over halfway completed and one insider that has heard some of it told him, "It's going to be huge." March 1, 2002 - Scott Huver of Hollywood.com spoke with Britney Spears about what she wants from a man and how well boyfriend Justin Timberlake from *NSYNC delivers on her needs. Britney said, "A guy doesn't have to do all that for me, as long as I can just be with the person I love and be intimate with them and have a good conversation with them." As for Justin? "Oh my goodness, Justin surprises me all the time with so many things and I've never been in a relationship like that. He totally fascinates me on that level...He's just a very cool guy and being in his presence just makes me... I don't want to go into detail about what he does! [laughing]" Read more.

March 1, 2002 - JdxFANx1 says Justin called in to 106.7 about 3 minutes ago and talked about the new tour. Also that Britney didn't know he was going to wear a shirt with her face on the grammy's until they got there. He joked around and said she didn't want to look at it.
