November 21, 2001 - Brian
McCollum of the Detroit Free Press reviewed Kid Rock's new album 'Cocky'
giving it 3 out of 4 stars. Brian says the album "is no Kid Rock retread
-- this is a decided step in a new direction for the self-proclaimed pimp
of the nation. Having already learned you can find an audience who likes
Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Beastie Boys, Rock plunges in all the way, exalting
the merits of 'everything from old George Jones to Jay-Z.' Bubba Sparks
has already proved there's room for more than one redneck rapper." Read

November 20, 2001 - Entertainment
Weekly's Rob Brunner gave his thoughts on the latest Kid Rock release,
Cocky, which drops tomorrow. Brunner gave the disc a 'B' rating saying,
"Kid Rock's tear-down-the-walls ideal of a world where rappers can sip
whiskey with rednecks is a compelling fiction, and if the cross-pollinated
musical results aren't always as exciting as the conversation no doubt
would be, you have to at least admire the breadth of his vision." Read

November 16, 2001 - Kid Rock
talked with MTV.com about what took him so long to make a new album following
his breakout LP, "Devil Without a Cause." Rock admits, "The reason it took
so long to put out this record is basically, girls, money, trying to raise
a son, trying to have fun -- all those things. So it gets a little crazy.
The world's a big place; there's a lot of touring to do. I would rather
be a family man than a musician, but being a musician pays the bills so...
this is what I do, and I have to make time with the family no matter what.
It's always a balance, life's a balance." Read more.

me all day."

have a right to know, but until I say something I don't think anyone has
a right to pry. That's why I live in the woods."
