September 29, 2002 - Pamela
Anderson and her future husband Kid Rock visited Turkey this week for a
quiet vacation but it turned into anything but that. The celebrity couple
continually had their romantic vacation interrupted by dozens of cameramen
and photographers, eventually infuriating the rock star. Kid first displayed
his anger at a marina as the couple were about to board a yacht. Later
that evening, the pack of photographers were once again there to watch
the couples every move. Clearly displeased, Kid Rock turned again on the
assembled camera crews, threatening the photographer from the marina to
a one on one fight, before lunging at him. Click here

about their much publicized relationship. Asked about the false reports
of their breakup, Pamela said, "What are they saying now? I can't keep
up with who is saying what." Kid Rock added, "I get pissed if I miss a
good tabloid rumor about us. We like to get the dirt to entertain us while
we're pooping." As for Pam's Hepatitis C, Rock said, "It's in sickness
and in health, you know? You take the blows as they come. I'm proud of
her." Will the couple get married soon? "Pamela and I just want to settle
down and figure everthing out," Rock said.

called himself Kid Rock in a Sunday night DJ competition. The two eventually
became friends, and it wasn't long before Matt met Ritchie. "My brother
was totally in awe of Bob," Mike says. "He hung around with Bob as much
as he could. He was all in." Read more.

growing up in Detroit with fellow musicians Kid Rock and Eminem. Kracker
talked about Kid Rock and Pamela Anderson's tabloid friendly relationship
saying, "I read a lot of stuff how one gets drunk and the other doesn't,
one is a bad influence," acknowledging that Rock gets most of that blame.
"But they both have their priorities in the right spot." Read more.

September 21, 2002 - Launch.com
reports Kid Rock will take part in this year's Farm Aid concert which takes
place on Saturday (September 21) at the Post-Gazette Pavilion at Star Lake.
"Oh, they've been asking me to do that for years, for the last few years,"
Rock said. "We just haven't been able to fit that into the schedule. It's
even gonna be tough this year, but we did have the day off. It's right
after the Detroit show. It's really the last place I want to go after playing
two shows at (Detroit's) Joe Louis. I'd like to stay home and have a day
off, but it'll help the farmers out. I'm looking forward to playing it.
I'm just not looking forward to the scheduling." Read more.

Rock and Lynyrd Skynyrd kick off a two-night stand on Thursday (September
19) at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, the first time both acts have performed
together. Rock said, "I think it'll just be a good night of music. You
know, we have our little antics and stuff we do, but I think people have
come--in Detroit--to expect that, and they already know that. But I think
it's really just gonna be three-and-a half hours of just really good music
and a good time. I think it'd be great just to end the whole night with
'Sweet Home Alabama.'" Read more.

Crow recorded for 'Picture', Kid Rock's next release. Moorer is convinced
the song will receive a warm reception from country audiences. "Kid Rock
can work it any way he wants to work it," she says. "He has a great attitude

Wendy Case of The Detroit News reviewed Kid Rock show at DTE Energy Music
Theatre stage Friday night where the hometown guy received a "hero's welcome."
Case said, "Though the production was pretty standard fare for Rock --
scantily clad cage dancers, plenty of pyrotechnics and multitudinous nods
to Detroit and his hometown of Romeo -- it drove home the most basic element
of what makes a Kid Rock show so much fun: The man is a great entertainer."

September 15, 2002 - Brian
McCollum of the Detroit Free Press chatted with Detroit's own Kid Rock,
and asked the rap-rocker if he's transforming into a Southern rocker. "You're
definitely seeing Kid Rock evolve. Into a Southern rock guy? I don't know.
A country guy? I don't know. There's so much that's close to my heart,"
he says. "Being a DJ is in my heart -- that's where I came from. It's simple
-- people appreciate good music. It's about trying to avoid the overnight
trends. Rather than trying to follow something, I'm trying to create something.
I learn from the people who came before me, what they've seen in their
careers." Read more.
September 15, 2002 - Marc
S. Malkin of New York Magazine reports Kid Rock had a tough time getting
around in the Hamptons over the Labor Day weekend. Rock stayed at Lava
Records honcho Lee Trink’s Southampton home and couldn't find a limo to
take him to Atlantic Records boss Ahmet Ertegun's place. Couldn't find
a town car either... so he settled for a cab. Rock had the same problem
later trying to get to the Stuff magazine’s party at the PlayStation 2
house in Sag Harbor. After looking for a ride for an hour, even a cab wasn't
available. A staffer working the party was sent to pick him up in a pickup
truck.

Rock is lashing out at record labels after being told by Interscope his
next single, 'Picture', cannot make use of Sheryl Crow, who duets on the
original version. Rock wasn't necessarily surprised by the move and fumed,
"Good old politics--heads of record companies and all that bullsh**, and,
you know, people having albums out, and singles rights, and worried about
if it's gonna stop the sales of maybe Sheryl's record, you know, if this
thing takes off, people buying my record. It's all a bunch of bullsh**.
You can't just make music and put it out. And, the same goes to say for
my label (Lava)--you know, Jason Flom never lets people use his artists.
He's always, 'No, no, no, no,' so, it comes time for someone else, everyone
goes, 'Fu** him. He doesn't let anybody else get down, so why should we
let him?'" Read more.
September 14, 2002 - Get
Real Detroit chatted with home town hero Kid Rock and asked him when he
expects to release a new album. "I don’t know," he said. "I’m going to
shut down at Thanksgiving, some time around there. This tour is really
tough. I’ve never been away from home this much because they tour day-on,
day-off. I haven’t done this schedule in a long time. I realize it’s great
for the fans and that’s really why I’m out here, but come Thanksgiving,
I’m going to shut it down. I’ll be home, be home with the family, and start
a record. And however long it takes." Read more.
