March 29, 2004 - Us Weekly
has details behind Kid Rock's appearance at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
gala on March 15th with new girlfriend Jaime Pressly, making sure the actress
didn't feel out of place at the music industry event. "He kept an eye on
her," a witness remarked. "The whole night, she was being led around by
Rock." A pal of the rap rocker added that Pressly is "around a lot. Pam
didn't go out to public events like this as much."
March
29, 2004 - Anonymous writes "At 33, Kid Rock has finally decided to quit
smoking. It's been one week and counting for the Detroit rocker, who crushed
his last pack of smokes on St. Patrick's Day. He's on a regimen of magnesium
and vitamin C and last week got state-of-the-art laser treatment intended
to kill nicotine cravings." Read more.
March 22, 2004 - Prince burst
into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with some blistering funk, joined by
Bob Seger, ZZ Top, and Jackson Browne. On hand were Alicia Keys, Kid Rock,
and Lenny Kravitz. Watch a highlight clip at WB11.
March 17, 2004 - Greg Kot
of the Chicago Tribune reviewed Kid Rock's performance to a nearly full
house Friday (March 12) at Allstate Arena. Kot writes, "He's the people's
rock 'n' roller, the Kid would have us believe, and he's updated his '70s
rock populism with more than a touch of rap's swaggering rhymes and larger-than-life
sense of identity." He added, "Beneath the pimp poses, Rock strove to show
he has a sensitive side, as evidenced by the appearance of a white baby
grand piano. He invested the ballads 'Cold and Empty' and 'Only God Knows
Why' with a road-weary pathos borrowed from Seger's 'Turn the Page'." Read

March 1, 2004 - The Dallas
Morning News reports Kid Rock and girlfriend Jaime Pressly trucked over
from Fort Worth to eat at Bob's Steak & Chop House on Lemmon Avenue
at the urging of Kid's Detroit Red Wings pals Brett Hull and Chris Chelios.
Jaime, Kid and their party of 15 all wanted to smoke – a clear violation
of the no-smoking ordinance championed by soccer mom Mayor Laura Miller.
No problem, says Bob's owner, Bob Sambol, who isolated the group from the
other patrons and allowed them to torch up. "Jaime Pressly can light the
place on fire if she wants to," Sambol said.
