29, 2000 - Interesting comments from the late Joe C in his last interview
in Spin magazine. Joey talks about Kid Rock saying, "Kid Rock saw me and
saw my size could be exploited. He saw dollar signs - bottom line. But
I'm not trying to dis Kid Rock. I've got nothing but love for that [bleep]."
December 24, 2000 - Kid Rock
will perform a tribute to honor his sidekick Joe C. at next month's American
Music Awards.
December 17, 2000 - Kid Rock
will cover tune Drinkin' Wine Spo-Dee-O-Dee on an all-star celebration
of seminal rock label Sun Records' 50th anniversary.
December 16, 2000 - Kid Rock
will be donating all profits from his show in Norfolk, Virginia January
21 to the personnel and families of those injured and killed on the USS
Cole. "Here at home, it can be easy to forget that there are Americans
in uniform all over the world putting themselves in harm's way every day,"
Kid Rock said in a statement issued Friday (December 15). "It's something
I often find myself thinking about when I look at my son - imagining the
folks in the service who are working hard and making sacrifices to protect
our country."
December 15, 2000 - The New
York Post reports James King is telling friends she's not sure Kid Rock
is Mr. Right and that she "needed to talk to her boyfriend", though she
also tells them she loves him.
December 12, 2000 - Wrestling's
Undertaker seems to think Kid Rock has become overexposed so he no longer
wants him to open his bouts, instead turning to Limp Bizkit... And they
aren't overexposed?
December 10, 2000 - Eminem
is commenting to CDNow about Kid Rock saying, "I like Kid Rock. When he
first got his deal with Atlantic, and I didn't have nothing, he came to
a couple of my shows just to show support, which was cool. And then I started
going to a few of his shows, just for the fact that I respect him as far
as being from my town and doing something. It's cool."
December 10, 2000 - Wall
of Sound reports Kid Rock will be playing a series of shows in January
and February. They also report McFarlane Toys will be distributing his
action figure into toy stores around the same time.
December 3, 2000 - Heavy.com's
Behind the Music That Sucks features an animated comedic look at Kid Rock
with a cameo by the late Joe C.
