July 29, 2000 - Kid Rock's lawyer
says of the Russell lawsuit "For centuries, artists have been telling their
life stories in song, poetry, and literature," he told the Free Press.
"The law honors and protects this right and does not permit plaintiffs
to censor artistic expression by filing lawsuits."

29, 2000 - Kid Rock has been hit with a lawsuit by former girlfriend Kelly
Russell in which she claims his lyrics damaged her reputation. Excerpts
from the track in question include "If she stepped out of line she got
slapped/She had no man no money and no clue/She said I want your child
or I'm leavin' you/That girl met another guy and was f--kin' him, too/Slut
could barely pay her rent/And then the same old sh-t, I'm pregnant/And
if that ain't some sh-t 'cuz/The girl didn't even know who the father was/Three
different kids from three different men."
July 22, 2000 - A judge told
Kid Rock and Kelley South to resolve their custody dispute, saying "There's
no question in my mind that both parents love this little guy and that
both parents deserve time with this little guy. But you're going to have
to communicate back and forth. I don't want to get involved in this." South's
attorney has argued that Kid Rock is letting relatives watch him instead
of South when he's on tour, while Kid Rock's attorney says "This is about
dough re mi."

spoke with Launch after his Devil Without A Cause went 9 times platinum,
saying "If your record company is pushing you and you see 'em working hard,
don't let it go to your head and get a big head. Because it can go, 'Bam!'
tomorrow and you'll be done. Do you know what I mean?"

emerging from the Steve Hutton firing from Rolling Stone. He tells RS "After
working with someone for seven years, pursuing the same goal, sharing your
heart and soul with him to have it end the way it did is incredibly sad.
My illusions have been shattered." When asked why he was axed, he said
his unwillingness to concentrate solely on Kid's career and moving to Detroit
were the main points, both of which he thought were unreasonable. Explaining
how he was fired, he said "His lawyer just left a voicemail on my lawyer's
answering machine."
July 15, 2000 - Kid Rock

is bid at $19.99 and ends July 16th.
July 14, 2000 - Steve Hutton,
the Kid Rock's manager for the past seven years, has quit and filed a $4
million lawsuit against Rock. So is Robert Richie a tightwad Steve? "When
I asked him for the money, he tried to bargain with me. But I don't work
on discount," said Hutton.
July 8, 2000 - Two autographed
kid rock pictures are bidding on eBay. The 8x10 photos (items #376956756
and #372908233) are bid at $29 and $14 while ending July 14th and 9th,
respectively.
July 1, 2000 - Kid Rock will
perform again with Metallica at the Hard Rock Cafe Rockfest in Chicago
on July 22nd.
June 24, 2000 - At the Kid
Rock show Friday night in Seattle's Memorial Stadium (which I attended),
Kid bashed *NSYNC and BSB while asking Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears
to "suck my d**k".
June 11, 2000 - The Post
reports Rock's hard-partying midget sidekick Joe C stumbled into a pole
and couldn't get up. Tavern staffers carried him outside to the garden
to sober up at a party at Tavern on the Green. Kid Rock joined his pal
outside where he unwound by cooing to model galpal James King on his cellphone.
March 31, 2000 - Eminem on
Kid Rock to MTV: "I mean, his stuff did take off quick, no doubt about
it. But that kid's been putting in work as long as I have, you know, as
long as he's been down with hip-hop."
