June 13, 2001 - Peoplenews.com reports Leonardo DiCaprio has been taunted by his Gangs of New York co-stars about his weight. Cameron Diaz, Liam Neeson, and Daniel Day Lewis refer to Leo as, according to Diaz, "Roly Poly Dicaprioly and The Snail, because he was so round that he looked like a snail, all balled up."

June 8, 2001 - Martin Scorcese was on Access Hollywood dispelling the whole Leo DiCaprio battles on the set of Gangs of New York. Martin said he got calls about it often but that he and Leo mostly ignored the whole thing.
