February 22, 2000 - More news about Leo and Nicole, as today's airing of Dees Sleaze indicates the two spent a weekend together. The All Saints singer wasn't very saintly though as just a week later she was told to be getting hot and heavy with 'N Sync member Justin Timberlake.

February 20, 2000 - Virginie Ledoyen is in the February 28th issue of People telling them that kissing Leo was hard work, saying of their underwater kiss "As you can imagine, you can't breathe. So you have to breathe before and then dive down. It's really work. It's hard to make people understand that you're kissing Leo but that it's a job". She went on to say filming the movie was a "great time".

February 18, 2000 - Well it appears that Leo has gotten himself more attention from the UK press for his sexual exploits than his new movie. Rush & Malloy today said that Leonardo was getting more questions about his 1/2 hour bathroom 'meeting' with All Saints singer Nicole Appleton than about his movie The Beach

February 17, 2000 - Alicia Silverstone tells Mr. Showbiz in a story run today that "For years people said I was going out with Leonardo DiCaprio. We knew each other when we were little and he was dating a friend of mine, but he and I never even looked at each other. I hear that kind of thing all the time; I get paired up all the time. Leo's the cutest idea; the package is so cute: We're two little blondes, a boy and girl. Only we look like brother and sister, right."

February 14, 2000 - The Beach was unable to take the number one movie position away from Scream 3 in its inital weekend as the DiCaprio film came in with $15 million compared to Scream 3's $16.4 million.

February 12, 2000 - Popcorn.co.uk reports that Leonardo DiCaprio is in the running to play opposite Sylvester Stallone in the movie Champs, in which he'd play a rookie racecar driver tutored by the aged champ Stallone.

February 12, 2000 - Leonardo DiCaprio tells Reuters that his celebrity image is out of control and sometimes he wishes he could be like his character on The Beach and escape to a deserted island. In the interview from the Berlin Film Festival, DiCaprio says, "Sometimes I have no control over all this, this image is separate from me. I try to detach myself from it as much as possible." But a tabloid in Berlin wasn't detered offering $500 for any local girl that got Leo to kiss them.

February 10, 2000 - Virginie Ledoyen talks about Leonardo DiCaprio in the March issue of Glamour Magazine, saying  "Well, he's great. I expected him to be this Hollywood superstar, but he's nothing like the spoiled brat the tabloids make him out to be. In reality, he's generous, simple, charming and lots of fun". She also makes light of rumored romance by saying "There are still a lot of personal things we don't know about each other." and noting that their relationship is strictly professional.

February 9, 2000 - Leonardo DiCaprio speaking out at the European premier of The Beach in London says "There's a lack of privacy I have nowadays, that's for sure, but the pros far outweigh the cons".
