June 30, 2002 - Reuters reports Lil' Bow Wow said that between takes of his new movie 'Like Mike', he went one-on-one with his famous NBA co-stars -- often successfully. "I had trouble with Tracy McGrady, but I beat everyone else," he said. "I played Jason Kidd and beat him 5-4; by the time I got to three, he was playing kind of tough, but he couldn't stop my layups." Read more.

June 29, 2002 - Entertainment Tonight was on hand at Thursday's premiere of Lil' Bow Wow's new film 'Like Mike'. "I had a lot of fun doing my first movie," Bow Wow revealed. "I feel blessed to be a part of something like this and I would love to be a film star, but I'll always stay with music too." Read more.

June 28, 2002 - Reuters reports U.S. electric utility Progress Energy Inc. says copying the actions of Lil' Bow Wow in 'Like Mike' could result in death by electrocution. The controversial scene in question involves Bow Wow climbing onto a roof to retrieve sneakers hanging from a power line. As his hand reaches the shoes, lightning strikes a power pole, throwing him to the ground and "energizing" the shoes. "It might be entertaining but it couldn't be more dangerous," Florida Power official Robert Sipes said. "Parents should make sure their kids know just how dangerous this is." Read more.

June 26, 2002 - Access Hollywood's Billy Bush sat down with Will Smith who admits his son Trey isn't exactly the next Lil' Bow Wow. "He's slightly rhythmically challenged," he said. "I have had him in the studio, and we don't have another Lil' Bow Wow on our hands here – he's not that level of talent yet. He's not that good, but he can smack the hell out of a baseball, so that's what we've been working on. We're going to concentrate on baseball and a little bit of acting." June 22, 2002 - Jay Leno joked during his Tonight Show monologue on Friday, "15-year-old rapper Lil' Bow Wow -- has legally changed his name, dropping the Lil. He says he's getting older now, and it doesn't make any sense anymore. And besides, Bow Wow is so much more dignified, really, than Lil' Bow Wow."

June 18, 2002 - The Chicago Sun Times reports Lil' Bow Wow will be at Nike Town on Boul Michigan at 3 p.m. Tuesday to promote his new basketball movie, 'Like Mike,' and host a free-throw contest. The event will be part of a special shoe drive for the James R. Jordan Boys and Girls Club.

June 12, 2002 - Bow Wow is dishing out love advice in the July issue of Spin magazine. One guy talked about how girls he knows are so aggressive, but he worries if he takes things slow, they'll think he's cheesy. Bow Wow advised, "Some girls like romance, and some don't. Girls are aggressive all the time with me. You don't want that kind of action to stop. But if girls are scaring you, there's something wrong." Another girl complained that her boyfriend didn't know how to dance. Bow Wow advised, "Tell him to watch BET. Sit in front of that TV and learn!" 

June 11, 2002 - The New York Daily News reports Lil' Bow Wow says he's ready to give up his rap career for basketball duties for the Duke Blue Devils. Bow Wow revealed, "I'm going to Duke. I got a nice jumper on me, and I'm not just bragging."

June 11, 2002 - Tommy Lee tells Spin magazine that he wasn't exactly happy to hear Kid Rock and ex-wife Pamela Anderson had gotten engaged. Lee said, "I was so depressed when I heard about it. I was so bummed they didn't just get married so she could leave me the fu** alone and dump all of her sh** on him!" Lee said the engagement was done to help her get custody of their two kids, but he insists, "It ain't gonna happen."
