August 26, 2001 - Willa Ford's CD thank you notes slam perhaps Mariah and Mandy Moore as she says, "May my life be as much of an emotional rollercoaster as it is during this one so I can keep writing real lyrics and not the cheesy sh** about butterflies, sunshine, and candy."

August 18, 2001 - The Salt Lake Tribune's Dan Nailen talked to Mandy Moore where she talked about teen pop saying, "The formula that's been so successful with this whole Teen Pop phenomenon is changing. "The audience is kind of growing up a little bit and going, 'OK, we're not stupid. You don't have to spell everything out for us. Let us think a little bit when we hear this music. Don't hand everything to us on a silver platter. Something kind of genuine and not necessarily all manufactured would be nice.' " Read more.

August 16, 2001 - CDNow's Miss Truth wasn't too kind to Mandy today when she quoted Mandy admitting, "I'm probably the most boring, lame 17-year-old out there. I'm not necessarily sending out the message that you shouldn't dress provocatively." Miss Truth's reply, "Frankly, we couldn't agree more."

August 12, 2001 - Mandy Moore was on the MTV Kiss and Tell special talking about her video for Walk Me Home where she talked about how she didn't want to kiss when Gregory Dark told her about it and said she felt, "Very, very awkward."

August 12, 2001 - Entertainment Weekly had a frank discussion with Mandy Moore about the change in her musical direction with the new album. Mandy admits, "Candy was a great place to start from, but I listen back to a couple of the other songs on the past two records and I cringe." Read more.

August 11, 2001 - The New York Post reports Mandy Moore will not only perform but co-host the CBS telecast of Miss Teen USA with MTV's Brian McFayden August 22 on South Padre Island in Texas.

August 8, 2001 - Mandy Moore talked to Access Hollywood about the pressures of fame and the busy schedule it brings saying, "Working sometimes 20-hour days in a row for a week, when you travel overseas. You out there that often, and they try to squeeze a lot out of you."

August 7, 2001 - Mandy Moore's new album is beginning to climb back up the charts after the release of Crush. Mandy tells MTV the new song is being release quickly because In My Pocket didn't "do as well as we thought it would." Read more.

August 5, 2001 - Former teen idol Leif Garrett is giving props to Mandy Moore saying in the September issue of Spin saying, "I like her record the best [of the teen pop stars]. It's definitely the most interesting." Garrett advises Moore to "keep up the natural, less contrived angle. And stay at MTV!"

August 4, 2001 -  Mandy Moore will perform live at the 2001 Miss Teen USA competition in South Padre Island, Texas, on August 22, and the event will air live on CBS at 9 p.m. ET.

August 4, 2001 - Mandy Moore will be the musical guest on the Tonight Show on August 9th. Molly Shannon is the other guest. I assume she'll also be interviewed for the Princess Diaries.

August 2, 2001 - Mandy Moore is interviewed in the latest Teen Movie Magazine where she revealed that she first met boyfriend Vilmer Valderrama when she interviewed him for a magazine, he asked her out, and the rest is history. Mandy also says no matter what happens in movies, she'll never give up her music career.
