November
28, 2001 - Shocking blind item in this week's Star as they dish, "This
pop-music queen may not be as innocent as she claims. There's a NYC nightclub
deejay who's telling his friends he showed the young lady some of the ways
of the world that are usually not discussed in public - when he worked
her 16th birthday party not too long ago. And he swears he wasn't her first!"
Age and recently certainly narrows the mix, as well as someone who's well
known at 16. Britney Spears, Mandy Moore? Who do you think, or is the deejay
just full of it?
November 23, 2001 -
A post on the official site message board providing a scoop on Mandy Moore's
role in her new movie 'A Walk To Remember' not only did bring thanks from
Mandy herself, but turned into a catfight between the moderator Jon (bills5000)
and the original poster Angelika, who is a friend of Mandy's brother Scott
Moore. Angelika blasted Jon saying, "Alright... I am going to go ahead
and speak about this if you won't drop it. You are a punk Jon. You know
damn good and well why I threatened you. And I do stand by it. I am going
to go out on a limb when I say that you are a pathetic guy, and I am telling
you right now that if you don't drop all of this.... I am going to keep
going after your sorry ass. I was trying to be nice and take the heat off
you some, but you know what? You don't deserve it, you were wrong. What
you did was crossing a boundary. You are NOT Mandy Moore's friend. You
ARE NOT welcome in her personal life." Read the full online war here.

November 13, 2001 - The New
York Post reports Mandy Moore was spotted in a Hogan store last week and
told a customer who mentioned she was afraid of flying, "Oh, don't worry
- the skies have never been safer." Mandy then purchased a Hogan bag that
she claimed "would make the perfect travel bag!" Mandy's father is an American
Airlines pilot.
November 10, 2001 - The Sydney
Herald Sun reports industry insiders are suggesting that Mandy Moore's
poor record sales were the key decision behind Sony's decision to not fly
her and her band all the way to Australia to perform for just 20 minutes
at Rumba, as it would be financially unviable. Moore has been stating on
her message board repeatedly that she nor her manager had any involvement
in the decision, but apologized in any event.
November 7, 2001 - Mandy
Moore posted a response to the overwealming chatter about her message board's
moderator Jon urging fans to quit talking about the incident. Mandy said,
"Stop talk (sic) about the whole incident of last weekend. It was topic
that shouldn't have been brought to this message board in the first place
and was wrong of myself to even address. It is unfair to Jon and all of
you to get so worked up over something that has already happened. Everything
has ended ok... Everyone is ok... So therefore, it's not of relevance.
I apologize to all of you for everything!!! Please keep your heads up and
smile..." Now whether this advice is heeded or not is yet to be seen.
November 7, 2001 - Mandy
Moore lashed out at message board member RuNvS on her official site who
accused her boyfriend of being a pedophile by saying, "It's all to have
your own opinion... as much as you criticize others who have their own
(pathetic as you may think they are). You don't hafta be rude. That's being
idiotic. Heed your own advice. vent all you want. Tell me how much you
hate me... I don't care, but don't freakin call people names (Wilmer's
a pedophile? Come on dude... get original). That's immature."
November 7, 2001 - Fans continued
to express their grief over Mandy Moore's last minute cancellation at the
Rumba show in Australia. Mandy said on her official site's message board,
"I can only attribute our cancellation of the trip to the record company.
We were all told last week and you can imagine how upset the band, makeup
artists, etc... were to hear the news, as they declined other jobs and
didn't book flights to be with their families for Thanksgiving. It is not
fair. Plain and simple. We were all planning on and looking forward to
going."
November 6, 2001 - Following
Mandy Moore's stunning e-mail on Halloween explaining an uncomfortable
situation the singer was put in that previous weekend with the moderator
of her official site's message board, the situation continues to go unresolved
and unforgiven. Seventeen-year-old moderator Jon, user name bills50000,
has so far refused an overwhelming demand that he step down for his unexpected
visit to Mandy Moore's home which he's presented sufficient proof he was
invited... but it doesn't matter. Read more.

November 6, 2001 - Mandy
Moore posted an update Sunday telling fans that her Australia trip was
cancelled. Mandy said, "It was NOT my decision, it was above me and without
my knowledge until the deal was done. And for all Australian fans who have
heard otherwise- I apologize." Mandy also called out against a message
board poster about the moderator Jon incident saying, "Some of you are
very misinformed and have put out false info (webmasterposter person).

November 1, 2001 - A fascinating
development occurred over the weekend as a moderator at the Mandy Moore
official site message board visited Mandy's home over the weekend and spent
the night. Mandy says, "YES, I felt a little freaked out... but who wouldn't?
I was in my house with my parents, my boyfriend, cats, dog, etc... watching
home movies and relaxing. I felt uncomfortable having someone not only
that I didn't know, but my brother and his friends didn't really know,
in my house to sleep over." Mandy's brother did in fact know he was coming
over based on a chat transcript Jon had saved on his computer to prove
it. For more info, click here.
