March 29, 2002 - Mandy Moore
responded to the skimpy outfit she ends up in for Elton John's new video
'Original Sin' that had many comparing her to Britney Spears. Mandy said,
"What I am about to reiterate is in no way an attempt to defend myself,
for I don't feel the need to. I am just simply stating: the shots pictured
are from a video. A video, not of my own, but of another artist. Was I
comfy in parading in that outfit? Of course not! Because I wore that outfit
in a video, does it mean I am headed in a direction stylistically that
is the opposite of everything I am? NO!!! Guys,
all I ask is for you to accept the fact that this wasn't my personal decision.
the video, outfit, etc. are NOT MANDY MOORE... nor should they be. It was
an acting role just like in a film. Watch the video first lol." Check out
the pictures in question
here.
March 29, 2002 - Mandy Moore
was asked on her official site's message board what she feels her weeknesses
are, to which she replied, "My weaknesses? Well let's see... I consider
myself to be outgoing, but I also tend to be shy around new people. Like
starting this film, 'Try Seventeen', I was quiet until I got to know some
of the crew, etc. I think in a sense it's a way of guarding myself. Weird.
I think I can be overly-sensitive at times. I hate it! And hell, I am an
aries so I am stubburn and always like to be the leader (at times it could
be a bit bossy??? I dunno). Geeez, hehe."
March 25, 2002 - Mandy Moore
told fans on her official site's message board on Sunday, "I am not doing
a photo shoot for Maxim magazine. No. LOL... I recently did a shoot for
Blender magazine (they appear in this month's issue w/ Shakira on the cover)....
and YES -- I AM DRESSED you guys!! come on guys." Of course Blender is
a music magazine spin-off from Maxim.
March 25, 2002 - Mandy Moore
is still in Vancouver, BC filming 'Try Seventeen' with Elijah Wood. When
asked by a fan on her official site's message board if there was any way
they could see her before she left, Mandy said, "How gorgeous is it here?
I love Vancouver (so far). Sure, I am a bit homesick, but i am having a
blast working. The sun is a certainly welcomed... more so than the snowy
cold lol. Come visit us... Others already have."
March 23, 2002 - Mandy Moore
was asked by a fan on her official site's message board what her favorite
scene in her hit film, 'A Walk to Remember' was. Mandy said, "The wedding
was probably my favorite scene to shoot, although I loved every moment
of making the movie. Watching the film now, my favorite scene is when Shane
and i pass each other in the hall at school (it's in slow motion and 'Mother,
We Just Can't Get Enough' is playing). That was the last scene I shot for
the movie. I burst into tears when we were done with it :("
March 23, 2002 - Mandy Moore
told fans on her official site's message board the motivation behind her
song 'When I Talk To You'. Mandy said it "basically talks about how i was
feeling 2 years ago; depressed about the situation with my friends. true
friends stuck by me, while others automatically thought different of me.
They thought because I had gone off to try my hand at having this career,
that I had transformed into a different person. Therefore, those people
chose to treat me in a way that crushed my feelings. It hurt to know those
people were out fo my life, but the therapy was writing the song and turing
it in to a postive situation."
March 22, 2002 - Mandy Moore
answered 25 questions from a fan on her official site's message board on
Thursday. Amongst her answers were that Mandy doesn't drink alcohol, she'd
most like to own 'another's heart', and that she feels she is 'way too
sensitive'. For the complete Q&A intended just not only Mandy, but
everyone on the singer's board, read more.
March 22, 2002 - Mandy Moore
answered a fans question about her 'Try Seventeen' co-star Elijah Wood
having great things to say about the 'Lord of the Rings' actor. Mandy said,
"Elijah rocks! He is such a genuine, professional, and hard-working guy...
not to mention very sweet. The film is going very well (we just ended our
2nd shooting day). Can't wait for you guys to see it!"
March 21, 2002 - After a
fan posted a rumor that Mandy Moore was perhaps dating Kevin Dunn from
the Real World New York, Mandy replied, "Oh my goodness!! I met Kevin during
MTV's New Years Eve celebration. He is very cool and we became friends.
I talk to him every now and then. That's all... lol."
March 19, 2002 - Mandy Moore
was asked on her official site's message board for her feelings on singer

of all time."
March 19, 2002 - Well again
the controversial posting from Michelle Branch where she disses not only
Vanessa Carlton, but Mandy Moore was pulled from her official site's message
board again today. Luckily, anticipating such move, I've screen-capped
the long posting leading up to answer #5. As well, Branch said of Mandy
Moore, "I must admit, I loved reading off cue cards. I felt a bit like
Mandy Moore 'Hi Carson! This is Mandy. Here's my new single 'Crushhhhhh'
Hope you like it!' and she does that weird slur thing and then the signature
Mandy look. Who knows? Do we all see being a V.J. in my near future? Probably
not." Read on for the screencap and entire transcript of the controversial
posting, that given the detailed content would at the beginning would question
whether it came from a hacker... though look for record execs to force
that opinion down. Besides, the moderator has the IP's of Michelle's posts,
and decided to republish it earlier today. Read more.
March 19, 2002 - Mandy Moore
responded to a fan's question on her official site's message board on whether
professional recognition means more to her than the personal recognition.
Mandy said, "It would upset me to think that anyone attaches a negative
connotation with my name... but I understand that people are going to think
what they want and unfortunately listen to rumors or ney-say from mean
individuals. It honestly affects me and how I lead my day to day life.
It bugs me to come on and read one mean comment on the message board."
Mandy added, "At the end of the day, yes, it is important for my family
and friends - my loved ones, to see me in a good light. But if others,
those people I may never get the chance to meet or thank, don't think the
same... well... then.... I am kinda outta luck." Read more.
March 18, 2002 - Mandy Moore
checked in with fans on her official site's message board on Sunday night.
Mandy wrote, "Well.... as I sit in my Vancouver hotel room, falling asleep
on my keyboard, I am a newly colored blonde. Yep, I know, I know... I am
kinda bummed but hey! it's for a month (I keep telling myself that). And
to top it off, it's really short (above chin length). It's that staggeringly
pathetic that a girl mentions her hair alterations first? Hehe....well.
Cancun and MTV Spring Break was unusually fun this year." Mandy later wrote,
"Just to further clear up any rampant rumors... hehe there are no signs
of marriage to anyone at this point. I will let ya know. I am single and
LOVING it!!" Read more.

for celebrities on the planet with her musical and film success. The singer

Aguilera continues her delays, she may jump to the #2 most popular pop
princess soon. The most popular song query was for 'Cry' while the most
popular misspelling was Mandy More. For a complete list of Mandy related

March 10, 2002 - MTV News
spoke with Mandy Moore's manager about her role in the film 'Try Seventeen'
with Elijah Wood that she's going to begin filming next weekend. MTV says,
"Moore will play a more world-wise 21-year-old gal from the Midwest who
knows a thing or two about partying and hanky-panky." As for her new album,
her manager says it will be "an organic rock/pop disc and will not feature
any dance music." Look for the new CD to be out late 2002 or early 2003.

March 10, 2002 - After MTV
posted an article Friday on Mandy Moore's next film 'Try Seventeen', with
Elijah Wood, the actress/singer clarified the report to fans on her official
site message board. Mandy said, "I am sorry how the article sounded, but
no, no, no. 'Try Seventeen' is not about me at all. The story focuses around
Elijah's character. I play a supporting role---a college aged girl who
happens to live in the apartment building that he moves in to. This girl
is by no means crazy, but she is a flirter. There are no sex scenes acted
or insinuated between my character and anyone else. lol.... It's a great
story that I am more than proud to be a part of. Vancouver rocks and we
are having a blast rehearsing and hanging out. I can't wait to go back
and get started. Hope this cleared it up a bit."
March 9, 2002 - Lynn Barker
of Teen Hollywood spoke with Samantha Mumba ahead of 'The Time Machine'
release today. When asked if she's seen the films by other pop artists
like Britney Spears or Mandy Moore, Mumba said, "No because I just came
to the states and they weren’t out in Ireland. I wouldn’t compare any of
the roles. They are very different. This film was very challenging and
extremely technical with all the CGI effects and everything. I think it
was harder than doing just a romantic story but I haven’t seen their movies.
I think it’s great that the girls are doing that. I think the timing is
quite bad so it looks like we’re doing it at the same time." Read more.

March 8, 2002 - A fan on
Mandy Moore's official site message board says some friends of his had
mooned Mandy Moore and her boyfriend at the time Wilmer Valderrama at a
packed restaurant, CPK. Afterwards, Wilmer chased the butt flashers and
banged on their car window. Mandy responded to the report, and another
on Wilmer having road rage against him by saying, "Oh my gosh..... lol!
genius. I can't confirm the first part of the story..... hmmmm (since we
have since parted ways), but I can tell you that yes, your friends mooned
me.... not Wilmer and I was beyond embarassed. We were eating dinner at
CPK (one of Wilmer's friends worked there) and they called my name, just
as they were exiting and dropped their pants. As you can imagine, I was
horrified because the restaurant was packed with families and everyone
turned their attention towards me. It was awful. why would they have done
that? Hmmm anyways... Funny story dude, funny story." The guy then posted
his picture trying to land a date with the pop princess. Read more.
March 7, 2002 - Aparita Bhandari
of the Toronto Sun spoke with Mandy Moore as the singer is in Canada this
week on a promo tour. Bhandari asked about Britney Spears comparisons but
Mandy distinguished herself saying, "Well, I am a brunette now. So that's
different, right?" Moore added, "If you have blonde hair, you're a woman
and you sing pop music, for some people that means you have to be like
the person before you. But I am a different person." Read more.

was on an online chat with Allpop.com earlier today where she addressed
a variety of issues including her new film 'Try Seventeen', her previous
hit 'A Walk to Remember', and several personal questions. Having such a
business schedule, one asked if the trouble Mariah Carey had recently has
effected how she feels about having a busy schedule as a singer and actress.
Mandy said, "I think that I am very privileged to not be the biggest mega-superstar
in the world and to have the most hectic, crazy schedule in the world.
I sympathize with Mariah, but I can't completely fit my head around the
concept of physical, mental exhaustion, because my schedule has never been
that crazy." Read the entire transcript here.
