July 30, 2002 - A particularly
negative post by someone on Mandy Moore's official forum where the 'fan'
blasted her for her comments that she didn't like being blonde, atomickittenMANDYwestlife
said, "ARE YOU OKAY?! I mean, look at yourself now! Look, I'm not trying
to be mean, but I'm just looking out for you." The poster added, "A lot
of 'haters' have been saying that you look like a lesbian and not that
I agree, but I can see where they're coming from. You really don't look
good with that short hair cut." Read more.

30, 2002 - After a fan on Mandy Moore's official message board complained
about having a lousy 16th birthday, Mandy posted that her 18th birthday
wasn't all she thought it would be cracked up to be. "My actual 18th birthday
was spent doing nothing. I was stuck in a trailer with my parents for 10
hours hoping to work but eventually just getting sent home. To top it off,
the weather was crap -- chilly rain, mud, the whole nine yards. LOL. Not
as bad.... but I can relate on a level. I thought my 18th was supposed
to be special too. I decided that I COULD do to make it better -- by celebrating
(I had my first real birthday party, nothing huge, but definitely worth
it). I hope your next year is better than ever. You can make sure of it."

(WENN) reports Mandy Moore again felt uncomfortable doing a kissing scene,
in this case with 'A Walk To Remember' co-star Shane West. "The first day

a good mood. But I gave her a big hug - I knew we had to do the scenes
right away where our characters were really into each other, so I wanted
us to get on." Read more.

July 26, 2002 - Mandy Moore
checked in with fans on her official message board Thursday and updated
her status on upcoming film projects and music. Moore said, "After HTD
[her latest film 'How To Deal'], I am headed back to LA for a few weeks
to hop into the studio (working on some demos for the next album), a couple
of meetings, some downtime, and prepping for the next film, 'Saved'. The
script to 'Saved' is wonderfully witty and was so funny, I was rolling
on the floor in hysterics. The cast is incredible too (Jena Malone, Macauley
Culkin, Mary Louise Parker, Patrick Fuggit, Heather Matarazzo, etc.). I
would have been silly to pass up the honor to work with those folks....
you'll see." Read more.

and intends to keep that way. "It's very weird. I feel like a completely
different girl," she said. "I look back at pictures with myself with blonde
hair and cringe. What was I thinking? I'm definitely more comfortable as
a brunette. I feel more like myself, as stupid as that sounds, since it's
just hair color. It's nice." Read more.
