October 31, 2003 - Mandy Moore posted some new messages on her official website on Thursday, previewing her appearance tonight on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. She writes, "Guys! wow.... what a great wake-up call to receive yesterday morning! As I've said in regards to this record----sales or debuts, etc. are not a concern to me. I guess it's just a perk to hear that people are curious about the music. I hope you guys are enjoying it as much as I had making it. Oh and ps: try to watch VH1's All Access'--- I saw it yesterday and it was quite entertaining and honest. Ohhhhh that and... Leno is on tonight. 
I will be wearing a black pencil skirt and a pink top with my favorite little zebra heels." Read more.

October 29, 2003 - Mandy Moore responded to some e-mails from TRL viewers after her appearance on the MTV program last Tuesday. One asked why she decided to do an album of cover songs as opposed to new songs. "The idea for the cover record came about just by experimenting," Mandy explained. "I wanted to do a couple covers on the album and by the time I finished compiling a list of potentials, I knew that I wanted to do a ‘fun’ record of all of them." October 29, 2003 - Mandy Moore tells Billboard that she is not worried about comparisons of her interpretations with those of the original artists on her latest effort 'Coverage', having tackled songs by such heavyweights as Joan Armatrading, Cat Stevens, Blondie and Joni Mitchell. "It's for people to decide what I add to these songs, not me," she reflects. "I just wanted to sing them. The songs are all genius and perfect to begin with, so I didn't feel the need to do something completely different. I wanted to hold true to the songs." Read more.

October 27, 2003 - Reuters has a photo of Mandy Moore applauding her boyfriend Andy Roddick of the United States during his semifinal match against David Nalbandian of Argentina at the Swiss Indoors ATP Tennis tournament in Basel on Saturday (October 25). Nalbandian won the match 7-5, 7-5 and will face his compatriot Guillermo Coria in Sunday's final. Check out the picture here.

October 27, 2003 - Mandy Moore tells Launch.com that she was in awe of the talent that participated on the fourth annual Women Rock! Songs From The Movies breast cancer awareness benefit, which aired on Thursday (October 23). "It was such an amazing project to be associated with," Moore said. "And the caliber and the credibility of the people that I was working with. I mean my jaw was on the floor the whole day of rehearsals--the whole evening that we taped the show." Read more.

October 27, 2003 - MTV News reports that Mandy Moore won praise from Elton John after including her take on Elton's classic 'Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters' on her new effort 'Coverage'. "I saw Elton John at a benefit and I got to meet up with him backstage before he went on," Moore explained. "He gave me a big hug and he's like, 'I heard 'Mona Lisas'.' I got back and I was with my boyfriend and I sat at the table the rest of the night and I'm like, 'Oh my God, he's heard my version of 'Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters' and he liked it!' October 20, 2003 - Mandy Moore posted several messages on her official website's forum at SonyMusic.com. Her first few posts were using the name 'tiredgirl'. The singer talked about growing up and filling out -- "I have some cleavage now. I admit that, but come on. I'm not being some hussy all of a sudden", talk about her virginity and that it's nobody's business, and phoney Mandy impersonators. October 20, 2003 - Jim Farber of the New York Daily News reviewed Mandy Moore's new album 'Coverage'. He writes, "She's today's Annette Funicello - though that can create some alarming juxtapositions. Moore makes Joan Armatrading's '80s hit 'Drop the Pilot' sound like any song from that era by Mister Mister. And she pulls all the quirks out of XTC's 'Senses Working Overtime,' which was the whole point of the song. Still, if Moore can turn one kid on to such artists, it's a good thing." Read more.

October 16, 2003 - WENN reports Mandy Moore is already plotting her retirement even though she's only 19. "If you see me in a movie when I'm 37, seriously, pull me aside and ask me what's going on," Moore said. "I want to have a family. I want to have gone to college and live somewhere suburban, quiet and regular - I'll be in the Catskills (New York) singing karaoke in a bar. I did a film last year with Macaulay Culkin and Jena Malone and we'd go karaoking a lot."

October 8, 2003 - After a polished and pre-fabricated pop start, Mandy Moore eventually became a certified music geek who is preparing to release an album of classic covers from a period before she was born. "I went to a record store, and started at the As and ended at the Zs," she tells MTV News. "I admitted to the fact that I didn't own a Joni Mitchell record, so why don't I just pick up her greatest hits and hear what she's all about? Then I bought [the 1971 classic] 'Blue' and [1974's] 'Court and Spark'. That's kind of how I discovered most of these artists. Once I had an understanding of who they are, I dove in and got to know them a little more by going toward their individual albums." 'Coverage' is released on October 21st. Read more.
