Moore posted some new messages on her official website on Thursday, previewing
her appearance tonight on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. She writes, "Guys!
wow.... what a great wake-up call to receive yesterday morning! As I've
said in regards to this record----sales or debuts, etc. are not a concern
to me. I guess it's just a perk to hear that people are curious about the
music. I hope you guys are enjoying it as much as I had making it. Oh and
ps: try to watch VH1's All Access'--- I saw it yesterday and it was quite
entertaining and honest. Ohhhhh that and... Leno is on tonight. I
will be wearing a black pencil skirt and a pink top with my favorite little
zebra heels." Read more.

Moore responded to some e-mails from TRL viewers after her appearance on
the MTV program last Tuesday. One asked why she decided to do an album
of cover songs as opposed to new songs. "The idea for the cover record
came about just by experimenting," Mandy explained. "I wanted to do a couple
covers on the album and by the time I finished compiling a list of potentials,
I knew that I wanted to do a ‘fun’ record of all of them." Check out the
rest of the questions and answers here.

Moore tells Billboard that she is not worried about comparisons of her
interpretations with those of the original artists on her latest effort
'Coverage', having tackled songs by such heavyweights as Joan Armatrading,
Cat Stevens, Blondie and Joni Mitchell. "It's for people to decide what
I add to these songs, not me," she reflects. "I just wanted to sing them.
The songs are all genius and perfect to begin with, so I didn't feel the
need to do something completely different. I wanted to hold true to the
songs." Read more.

October 20, 2003 - Jim Farber
of the New York Daily News reviewed Mandy Moore's new album 'Coverage'.
He writes, "She's today's Annette Funicello - though that can create some
alarming juxtapositions. Moore makes Joan Armatrading's '80s hit 'Drop
the Pilot' sound like any song from that era by Mister Mister. And she
pulls all the quirks out of XTC's 'Senses Working Overtime,' which was
the whole point of the song. Still, if Moore can turn one kid on to such
artists, it's a good thing." Read more.

in the Catskills (New York) singing karaoke in a bar. I did a film last

writes "Mandy Moore is this month's Fashion Obsession at www.luxuryfashion.com:
"You'll have to excuse us for turning our focus to a teeny bopper this
month but how can we resist reporting on a girl who wears so many loose,
flowing dresses? Blonde or brunette, 19 year old 5'10 Mandy Moore has shunned
the traditional Britney-esque custom lowriders and crop tops for the more
elegant look of chiffon and satin. The singer-turned-actress relies on
iconic designers like Richard Tyler, Vivienne Westwood, and Jill Stuart
to supply her with the most femme of creations. Below is just a sample
of Ms. Moore's mature fashion sense." Click here

October 8, 2003 - After a
polished and pre-fabricated pop start, Mandy Moore eventually became a
certified music geek who is preparing to release an album of classic covers
from a period before she was born. "I went to a record store, and started
at the As and ended at the Zs," she tells MTV News. "I admitted to the
fact that I didn't own a Joni Mitchell record, so why don't I just pick
up her greatest hits and hear what she's all about? Then I bought [the
1971 classic] 'Blue' and [1974's] 'Court and Spark'. That's kind of how
I discovered most of these artists. Once I had an understanding of who
they are, I dove in and got to know them a little more by going toward
their individual albums." 'Coverage' is released on October 21st. Read
