February 24, 2007 - Mandy Moore spoke with Billboard about her forthcoming album 'Wild Hope', and her move to release the disc semi-independently through the Firm Music. "I don't know if the significance of having an actual label behind you really means anything to people anymore," she explained. "People are discovering music on MySpace; they're watching videos on YouTube. I don't think you need that whole big machine behind you. And in this day and age, I'm happy to be a bit of a guinea pig." Read more.

February 24, 2007 - The Sun reports shy Mandy Moore hated having to take off her clothes for 'Because I Said So'. The 22-year-old admitted, "I'm super self-conscious. What girl really feels comfortable about being on a gigantic movie screen with her butt there? Everything is in full view, but in the end, I decided just to dive right in and go for it. Why not? February 24, 2007 - Mandy Moore was so hurt when ex-beau Wilmer Valderrama spoke publicly about their sex life on Howard Stern's show on Sirius, it threw her into a deep depression, sources tell the National Enquirer. "Mandy couldn't believe her ears when she heard the hurtful and tacky comments," said a friend of the pretty 22-year-old actress/singer. "She just wanted to crawl under a table and hide." Read more.

February 24, 2007 - Mandy Moore checked in with fans on her blog at Myspace on Tuesday (February 13). Moore writes, "So far, 2007 has been a pretty glamorous year for me. Between Sundance, Paris and plenty of other stops in between, I've been racking up the frequent flier miles. This past week was no exception as I made my way to Tulum, Mexico for an ELLE magazine photoshoot. For those of you who haven't had the pleasure of visiting, let me tell you: it's pretty incredible. I managed to get past the idea of all the creepy crawlies (beetles, ants, spiders, mosquitos, etc) living with me in my room and relax/enjoy all the swimming and yummy food in between shots. I loved it! However, there was no way of predicting that our 'rag-tag' group would end up rescuing a scrawny dog off the street and bringing him home to NYC. FYI: Pablo is adjusting to his new home and life quite well. All in all, a very successful trip."

February 11, 2007 - Mandy Moore checked in with fans on her blog at Myspace on Wednesday (January 24). "Hey guys, I know I haven't updated the blog in awhile," she writes. "It has been insane finishing the record, getting ready for Sundance, 'Because I Said So' promotion and premiere coming up and now a quick jaunt to Paris for a photo shoot and then to London to play the record for the UK folks. I'm gonna be doing 'Letterman' on Wednesday night just before leaving for Paris. I am hoping this will be one of that last TV's I do without playing the new music. I can't WAIT to get out there with this record! I just did two shows at Sundance and it was the rush of a lifetime! The band was insane and we didn't want to get off the stage." February 11, 2007 - The New York Post reports Mandy Moore's new film 'Dedication' was bought by the Weinstein Co. at the Sundance Film Festival, with Harvey Weinstein securing the deal "at 4 a.m." after "distributors were in a fierce battle." While the film's director Justin Theroux was securing the deal at the Lotus Lounge at Hollywood Life House, Moore was "making out on the couch" with new squeeze DJ AM. Read more.

February 11, 2007 - Saturday night at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Mandy Moore spent some quality time with DJ AM ahead of the screening of her new film 'Dedication'. "Mandy was performing songs from her new album, and the last song was 'Gardenia,'" a source tells Us Weekly. "DJ was standing in the corner drinking P.i.n.k. Vodka and smiling. He was singing along. February 11, 2007 - In the new issue of Seventeen magazine, Mandy Moore uncharacteristically dissed a fellow starlet. "Oh, God! I tell you what: In this industry it's my job to look a certain way or whatnot - and it's' weird for men too," she explained. "But I'm much happier to present this type of person. I'm not Nicole Richie. I'm not like a toothpick, and I will never be. I'm just a regular-looking person - and that's okay. I's taken a while to come to grips with that since its' definitely not the norm in my business. But, like, who cares? If anything, that makes someone more special -- or at least that's what I tell myself." Given that since the interview Moore has begun dating Nicole's ex DJ AM, this is bound to really infuriate 'The Simple Life' star.

February 11, 2007 - Mandy Moore checked in from Paris, France on Thursday (February 1) while promoting her new film 'Because I Said So'. "Ok. Without a doubt, I could live in Paris," Moore wrote. "I love it more and more with each visit. While the first 24 hours there were a tad hectic (to say the least), I rewarded myself with 'A Few Days Down' in my favorite city. Sundance to New York. New York to a red-eye flight to Paris and straight off the plane into a photo shoot for Vanity Fair was deserving of at least a couple of good days of shopping. And so the fun/work began... :) Paris has some of the best vintage shopping in my opinion (a personal favorite). I must say, I was pretty thankful to Sophia Coppola (who was kind enough to mention a few of her favorite shops in a New York Times article I read a while back) and I ended up following her 'lead' around town. I am also always thankful for concierges who are somehow able to conjure up big enough boxes to ship stuff home. That way, I leave feeling good about going home with the same amount of luggage I started with." Read more.

Moore said of the track: "There are times when everyone hits a point of wanting and knowing they can go beyond what they deem their limits to be. Personally, it took me a while to come to this conclusion and it was quite a bold move for me to make. I consider myself to be pretty shy and have trouble expressing myself in certain situations, so writing this song is one of the most honest, humble things I have ever done and said in my life.
