Daily News reports Mariah Carey has been hit with a plagiarism suit Friday
by Manhattan songwriter Vernon Minow. Minow claims Carey ripped off three
Christmas songs he wrote, including All I Want for Christmas Is You. Carey's
rep said neither she nor her lawyer was aware of the lawsuit.
March 23, 2001 - The New
York Daily News reports Mariah Carey has finally worked out a deal to leave
Sony. Labels most likely to pursue Carey, who is seeking a four-record
deal that would pay her $25 million per album, include Warner Bros., Interscope,
Universal and Jive.
March 13, 2001 - Perhaps
Mariah and Max Beesley did have a fling while shooting All that Glitters
as Worldpop reports Beesley admitting to friends, "We spent a lot of time
together. She has a serious liking for macaroni cheese at 5am."
