July 29, 2001 - US Weekly reports Mariah Carey was spotted grabbing her hair elastic before losing it in the wind while sticking her head out of the sunroof of her limo during a recent trip to Detroit.

July 29, 2001 - An autographed photo and Glitter movie poster are up for bids on ebay. The Glitter poster, item 1450631428, is bid at $10.50 and the auction ends August 5th. The 8x10 autographed photo, item 1450820748, is unbid at $24.99 and the auction ends August 6th.

July 28, 2001 - The New York Daily News' Mitchell Fink reports despite rumors making the rounds this week Mariah's rep Cindi Berger insists, "It is not an alcohol or a drug problem. I can say that unequivocally." Read more.

July 28, 2001 - The New York Post reports insiders at Virgin Records are livid over Mariah's problems as one groused, "Virgin is furious. Right now she needs to be out there doing concerts, signing CDs for fans, doing ‘Live with Regis and Kelly,' and getting on the radio stations!" The Post also says the failure of Loverboy on the charts and Eminem's refusal to appear on her album drove her to a nervous breakdown. Read more.

July 28, 2001 - Access Hollywood reported on Mariah's hospitalization and recent erratic behavior including her appearance on TRL.

July 28, 2001 - In an abstracts.net poll asking what profession should Mariah concentrate on more, 83.6% said music while 16.4% said acting, with 1500 total votes cast, with 1500 total votes cast. Perhaps Mariah would have been well advice to take that advice and lighten her workload.

July 28, 2001 - Launch.com reports Mariah Carey's rep cleared confusion as to what country she's receiving medical attention in saying, "she's not in London. She's in an undisclosed location in the U.S." Read more.

July 28, 2001 - A Star magazine article last week indicates Mariah's troubles may be primarily based on insomnia. Mariah says, "If I'm feeling comfortable, I could sleep 10, 12 hours, but generally, I get about three." Mariah adds, "Relaxing is hard for me."

July 17, 2001 - News of the World's Rav Singh reports he hears Mariah Carey has a clause in her contract stating she won't do interviews before 3pm and after 10pm.

July 17, 2001 - Willa Ford talked to the Tucson Republic where she was asked how she compaired to the other female pop artists voice-wise responding, "Voice wise I think I have a unique type of voice! None of our voices are the same.. out of all of us though, Christina has pipes til' heaven ya' know that girl gotta voice that would blow Mariah outta the water, I'm NO competition for her! July 17, 2001 - Howard Stern spent Monday morning bashing Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez for wearing bikinis saying both were overweight and you could see their guts hanging out in recent photos published in tabloids. Howard said women that size should wear a 1 piece suit instead.

July 1, 2001 - Mariah Carey's swimsuit outfit from a trip to Spain was grilled in this week's US Weekly. Radio host Lisa G joked, "Boarding the good ship Silicone" while comedian Veronica Mosey cracked, "One of the hundreds of great uses for old throw pillows." Writer Rena Zager explains, "Someone should tell her that there are places to buy swimsuits besides Baby Gap."
