Stern again goofed on Mariah Carey, this time replaying her RMA acceptance
speech from last weekend. Howard talked about how he really is on Mariah's
side even though she hates him. Howard would like to have Mariah on the

31, 2001 - This news according to a message board post... Z100 reported
today that Christina Aguilera was spotted backstage at the Radio Music
Awards in Las Vegas last Friday using the 'F' word and slamming Most Requested
Artist winner Mariah Carey. After Christina told the crowd "Let's hear
it for Mariah Carey" the tiny diva was later heard backstage saying, "You've
gotta be kidding me! Most requested artist? It must be a joke!"

Weekly talked to Tommy Hilfiger at the VH1 Vogue Fashion Awards about Mariah
Carey where the clothing guru praised the singer saying, "She's a talented
musician and a wonderful girl. For her to be down-and for everyone to be
negative about her-was so wrong." Meanwhile, Ally McBeal executive producer
Bill D'Elia said the crew there treated her great and that she was great
herself adding, "We made sure she was surrounded by people she feels comfortable
with."

Spears as their 'You've Got Mail" voice. They joke Christina Aguilera would
have been a better choice saying, "At least she would've made it fun, shoving

into 37." Or perhaps Mariah Carey, who's fans "can hear her sing 'You've

Carey opened the Radio Music Awards Friday with 'Never Too Far' and right
afterwards was awarded the 'Most Requested Artist Award.' In her acceptance
speech, Mariah said, "Oh oh, dear. Thank you so much. I'm just happy to
be here. And I'd like to say thank you to radio, first of all, for being
here for me, since 'Vision of Love,' and, you know, I wouldn't be here
without you and mainly, basically, this award is about the fans, and you've
been here with me, stuck with me through thick and thin, drama, no drama,
whatever. And I just want to say I love you. I appreciate you. Thank you,
God, for taking me through whatever. And thank you everybody out there
who supported me."

Jackson put out a press release today announcing the lineup on his charity
single, 'What More Can I Give' after *NSYNC completed their part in the
song. On the lineup are as follows: NSYNC, Ricky Martin, Mariah Carey,
Carlos Santana, Celine Dion, Tom Petty, Beyonce Knowles of Destiny's Child,
Usher, Julio Iglesias, Reba McEntire, Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, Luther
Vandross, Shakira, Brian McKnight, Gloria Estefan, Mya, Aaron Carter, Hanson,
Laura Palcini, John Secada, Billy Gilman, Ruben Blades, Anaida, Shawn Stockman
of Boyz II Men, Alejandro Sandz, Christian Castro, Olga Tanon, Anastascia,
Joy Enriquez, Juan Gabriel, Luis Miguel, Thalia, Ziggy Marley, and 3LW.
The artists recorded both English and Spanish versions of the song.
October 26, 2001 - Mariah
Carey left another voice message on her official site on Tuesday, basically
recapping what she's been up to including the Ally McBeal taping. Mariah
told fans "I miss you, I love you, I adore you," and added that she's been

October 25, 2001 - Christina
Aguilera will host the Radio Music Awards in Las Vegas on Friday at the
Aladdin Casino in Las Vegas (though no mention of her on ABC's official
RMA site has some wondering about a last minute cancellation). Among the
guests at the show will be Mariah Carey, Jessica Simpson, *NSYNC's Lance
Bass & Joey Fatone, Christina Milan, Nelly Furtado, and Elton John,
who will receive this year's Legend Award. Christina said of the opportunity
to host, "It is kind of a different thing for me because I'm speaking my
way through it. I'm not performing. But it'll be a fun night just because

Mariah Carey's performance last night at the United We Stand concert many
fans flocked to her official site's message boards to wonder what happened
to Mariah's voice, as she struggled during her short set to hit the high
notes. LoverBoyMCstyle wrote, "She was DEFINATLY (sic) lacking the power
in her voice! It made me kinda sad after she performed 'Last Night A DJ
Saved My Life' that not to many people even clapped. Oh well I did. I just

Dominic Mohan reports, "In spite of running three hours over schedule 47,000
fans loved the highlight of the event, Mariah Carey's first major stage

reports Mariah Carey's appearance on Ally McBeal will be aired in January
and will have Mariah playing a comedic role as a witness in the trial of
a dating service where Mariah's character is a client. Mariah will also
perform in the show's nightclub, perhaps singing 'Lead the Way.' The episode
will also mark the introduction of Jon Bon Jovi's character.
October 19, 2001 - E! Online's
Ted Casablanca reports Mariah Carey was spotted at the Bellagio Hotel on
the Las Vegas strip flirting with some male rapper friends of hers. Mariah's
hair was blonde and her frame was uncharacteristically thin as she wore
a tube top, brown leather mini and black boots.

Carey will perform at the VH1 Fashion Awards which will be taped Friday
at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York and broadcast at 9:00 p.m. on October

Roger Friedman today says he thinks the story in the NY Daily News yesterday
that Mariah Carey is in danger of being dropped by Virgin is 'laughable.'
Friedman says, "In the history of the record industry there has yet to
be a case of a big-name star with a multi-million dollar contract who was
'fired' from their label because of poor sales." And for how Mariah got
out of her record deal with Sony so easily, he hears that it was legal
pressure from Carey after Jennifer Lopez ripped off the music loop from

to IMDB.com, Mariah Carey is still going ahead with a film career despite
horrible reviews for her debut, Glitter. Carey says, "It's hard to decide
which creative thing I enjoy most. I have been singing since I started
talking. I have been a songwriter most of my life. I enjoy acting as well.
I look forward to further projects, one which I just completed. It allows
me to use a different side to my creativity."

Carey was on Extra Thursday where she talked about her first return to
her apartment in New York since the terror attacks on September 11. Mariah
said, "My apartment is pretty close to Ground Zero, and the police commissioner
took me on a tour. It was the most devastating thing I’ve ever seen in

says she feels "great" after her UCLA hospital stay.

Carey did show up for her chat on MSN today and she happened to answer
one of my 10 or so questions... and probably the toughest one she got as
I asked, "Mariah, what is your fascination with rainbows?" Mariah answered,
"Obviously I did the album 'Rainbow' and I have told the story many times
of seeing a double rainbow before I put that album out and didn't have
a title for it. There have been a couple of other occasions that have been

wide run in theatres this Friday. The flick took in a pitiful gross under
$5 million.

Records announced that they'll be releasing "God Bless America", a CD featuring
a special version of the title track by Celine Dion and tracks by Gloria
Estefan, Mariah Carey, and others. A substantial portion of the proceeds
received by Sony Music from sales of this album will be donated to The

records sent out a press release today announcing that Mariah Carey's first
single from her label debut, the Glitter soundtrack, has been certified
gold. Loverboy has now sold over 500,000 copies. The next release from
the Glitter soundtrack is "Don't Stop," which features rapper Mystikal.
October 6, 2001 - The November
issue of Vibe has a segment talking about how certain celebrities would
fair on a reality TV show, including Mariah Carey, "Her flair for the dramatic
and constant mirror-hogging ways would make her the housemate you love
to hate on The Real World."
October 5, 2001 - Mariah
Carey reponded to gossip queen Liz Smith's column earlier in the week saying
she was headed to Japan. Mariah told Liz she didn't go "due to world events."
The obviously upset Mariah told Liz, "I took a break just like anybody
else and now I'm back to work. But really, how much can somebody sleep?

is reporting that Mariah Carey's cancelled interview with 20/20's Barbara
Walters will be conducted on Friday October 5. The piece will have footage

reports Britney Spears has admitted she doesn't want to end up like Mariah

York Post's Liz Smith reports Mariah Carey has headed off to Japan despite
the order from her doctor, and wishes from Virgin Records, that she shouldn't.

reports Mariah Carey cooked dinner for her and her four guests at the Lanesborough
Hotel and sent a butler out to get the ingredients needed for her creation.
The butler noticed the lentils included on the list would need to be soaked
for a day at least. The hotel's kitchen replaced the rock-hard beans with
ones that were ready to cook. No word how the guests enjoyed the meal.

Stern was on this morning talking about how Usher recently talked about
his busy schedule and how he fears that under all the pressure he "might
pull a Mariah Carey." Howard thought it was interesting that Mariah's name
is becoming synonymous with being crazy, especially from the rappers [hey
Howard, Usher doesn't rap, he's R&B!] that she's trying to identify
herself with.
October 1, 2001 - The New
York Post is reporting Mariah Carey is wanting to stop taking her two anti-depressants
she has been taking since her breakdown. While Virgin execs tell her it
is important she stay healthy, Mariah is concerned about her inability
to hit her patented high notes while on the medication. Several have noted
her limited range following the America: Tribute to Heroes performance.

Carey's good friend Da Brat left a new message on her official website
on September 19 telling fans that Mariah's doing fine and everthing is
great, telling 'true fans of hers' that Mariah 'sends her love fo' sure.'
