November 30, 2001 - The Sun reports Mariah Carey will entertain US troops in Kosovo next week in an effort to give a moral boost for soldiers over the holidays. This prompted The Sun to joke, "So there won’t be any singing, then."

November 30, 2001 - Mariah Carey spoke with MTV about how her life has changed following her mental breakdown and the tragic events of September 11 where the singer admits, "[The last] six months [have] been a learning experience, and I have learned to slow down in some ways and focus more in others, even though I've always been very focused and a very driven person and a workaholic. I've learned that if I don't take care of myself, there's really nobody that's going to take care of me." Read more.

November 29, 2001 - The Sun reports Mariah Carey will make her first UK television appearance since her mental health crisis with a spot as Cat Deeley's Maid of Honour. Mariah will star in a sketch on SM:TV this Saturday – the last show featuring Ant and Dec.

November 28, 2001 - Star reports Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst and Mariah Carey were sitting at adjacent tables at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills talking business when they decided to chat each other up. The two flirted all evening before Fred left, and a giddy Durst told photographers outside, "She WANTS me! When Mariah comes out, tell her I want HER!" The photographers weren't able to relay the message to Carey though as she exited too quickly.

November 27, 2001 - The Sun reports Mariah Carey has asked Westlife to record another duet with her. In addition, the guys will lend support at the Top of The Pops awards to sing 'Never Too Far' with Carey. Louis Walsh, manager for Westlife revealed, "There was real chemistry when they worked on Against All Odds. We want to record with her again because it would be a great way to bolster her profile in the UK and introduce Westlife to the Americans." Read more.

November 27, 2001 - MSNBC's Jeannette Walls reports Mariah Carey has told Hot 97 that she's bought a BOB boxing machine to vent out her frustrations. He admits, "It looks like a heavy bag but it’s designed like a man? Well, I have Bob set up in my basement with some nice gloves and I release my anger like that. November 24, 2001 - IMDB reports Mariah Carey has shot down reports that her recent more voluptuous look was the cause of breast enhancement surgery saying, "What made you think I did that? It's called a push-up bra. It costs $14."

November 24, 2001 - The Daily Record reports Alicia Keys is giving details as to why she turned away from Columbia Records to sign with Clive Davis and J. Records. Keys says, "It was so frustrating when they wanted me to turn in to a clone of Mariah Carey or Whitney Houston.I wasn't interested in doing something like that. I had to be myself." Keys added, "They wanted me to be something I'm not. I'm not the high-heel and cleavage type. That's why I love working with Clive, he lets me be myself." Read more.

November 22, 2001 - Conan O'Brien joked about Mariah Carey during his Wednesday night monologue, "Movie critics have discovered -- this is true. They've discovered at least a dozen mistakes in the new 'Harry Potter' movie. They say there are a dozen mistakes. Meanwhile -- I don't know if you know this, but scientists still haven't finished calculating the number of mistakes in the movie 'Glitter.'"

November 21, 2001 - Bill Zwecker of the Chicago Sun Times reports Mariah Carey's rep Cindy Berger is denying claims from the New York Post that the singer is being forced to renegotiate her $100 million contract with Virgin Records.

November 21, 2001 - The New York Daily News reports Mariah Carey will be handing out Thanksgiving dinners to families of the victims of the September 11 terror attacks in New York at the Fresh Air Fund's camp upstate.

November 20, 2001 - MTV talked with Mariah Carey about her new greatest hits release that she insists is different from her previous No. 1's effort. Mariah says, "The difference is the 'No. 1's' record only had [songs that reached No. 1] on it, therefore I wouldn't let them call it 'Greatest Hits'. I made a huge deal out of it: 'You may not call this a greatest-hits [album].' I think people are going to like this 'Greatest Hits' because there are songs on it that were not necessarily singles." November 20, 2001 - The news update on Mariah Carey's official website is making the claim "It has been proven that singing along to Mariah Carey’s ballads can increase lung endurance... thus modifying the time of the average work out by up to 20% longer." While actually being credited to a site called Melt-Away.com, the item has drawn the attention of MSNBC gossip reporter Jeannette Walls, who leads her Monday column with the info claiming the singer is "turning to desperate measures to sell her albums." November 19, 2001 - The Sun reports Mariah Carey will be performing at the Top of the Pop Awards on November 30 where her arch rival Jennifer Lopez will perform as well. It will be Carey's first visit to the UK since what the Sun is terming as her 'suicide attempt.' Also at the event will be Atomic Kitten, Kylie Minogue and The Corrs. A source revealed Mariah is "keen to show she's fully fit."

November 19, 2001 - The New York Post reports Mariah Carey was told by new Virgin Records head Alan Levy she could either leave the label or renegotiate her $100 million deal to something substantially less. An insider revealed, "He wasn't going to pay her all that money - especially after 'Glitter' flopped." As lawyers rework the deal, Carey is being helped now by Sean 'P.Diddy' Combs on her next project. As for now, Carey's rep Cindi Berger says "She's leaving next week for a European promotional trip [EMI] set up."

November 15, 2001 - Gisele Bundchen was on with Jay Leno Wednesday to promote Thursday's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show on ABC. Gisele says Mariah Carey's music helped her to learn English as she told Jay, "Mariah Carey is like, big, huge in Brazil. And when I came to America, my sister -- the only CD she had was a Mariah Carey CD. So she gave me one of her Mariah Carey CDs, and I bought more because they had the thing inside where you can read, you know -- read the lyrics and listen over and over again. It was easy to learn, so I liked that."

November 14, 2001 - According to tabloid reports, Mariah Carey is looking to adopt an Afghan war baby. A pal revealed, "Mariah's done a lot of soul-searching after a tough few months," adding, "Recently Mariah's started inquiring about adopting a baby -- and she's even open to the idea of one from Afghanistan. She knows she'll have to overcome mountains of red tape, but she won't give up until she brings a baby home."

November 13, 2001 - Not sure if the Sun is just referring to Mariah Carey's role on Ally McBeal, but they're reporting today that Carey has been offered a lead role in a "Friends-style" TV comedy show. The chance comes after telly bosses saw her showing off great comic timing while starring as Raychel in her latest film, Wise Girls.

November 11, 2001 - The Globe reports Mariah Carey has grown up and is ready to make a post-breakdown comeback according to friends. An insider revealed, "The old Mariah was a flaky kid looking for copout excuses or explanations for everything that went wrong." November 11, 2001 - Dees Sleaze reports Mariah Carey is photographed nearly naked on vacation in the current issue of High Society magazine, wearing only a 'floss g-string'. The magazine describes Mariah as having a "bumping booty" and "bodacious rack."

November 11, 2001 - E! True Hollywood Story is creating an entire show for Mariah. The show debuts 11/28/01 8:00 pm Eastern on the network and will be repeated over the holiday weekend. 

November 10, 2001 - The New York Post reports Mariah Carey was spotted at New York hotspot Fressen for Juke Box Thursdays. Mariah and 106th and Park host A.J. Calloway danced exclusively until 3:30 a.m. drinking Dom Perignon. A.J. had been a very gracious host to Mariah during a recent appearance and appears to be reaping the dividends.

November 10, 2001 - The Enquirer's Mike Walker was on with Howard Stern this morning and told listeners that the RFK stadium performance of ''Hero'' by Mariah Carey was so bad that it was cut from a TV broadcast so it could be redubbed for airing at a future date. Mike said the 'United We Stand' ABC host John Stamos admitted there was trouble trying to get Carey to perform without assurances they'd work out the problems with her voice.

November 10, 2001 -  Jay Leno joked during his monologue on Thursday, "Mariah Carey announced this week she intends to keep on acting. Hey, haven't we been terrorized enough, ladies and gentlemen?"

November 9, 2001 - The Star's latest Hollywood Whodunit provides few clues to which diva is on Cipro, but circumstantial evidence gives us some clue. Is it Jennifer Lopez who has already had a widely believed to be anthrax laced love letter sent in her name to American Media Corp? Or, was the last minute pullout of Christina Aguilera from the Latin Grammy ceremony due to flu symptoms the answer? November 9, 2001 - Roger Friedman of Foxnews.com talked to The Emotions sisters Wanda and Sheila Hutchinson about how their group's biggest hit, "Best of My Love" was taken by Mariah Carey in her 1991 hit "Emotions." The song's writer Maurice White was paid in a lawsuit settlement for Carey's lifting of the song word for word, prompting Sheila to say, "It was at Sony, so they already had the tracks. But it did generate interest in us again."

November 9, 2001 -  A CD and DVD of America: A Tribute to Heroes will be released December 4 and will feature the separate 'Hero' tracks by Mariah Carey and Enrique Iglesias. Proceeds from the album will go to the September 11 fund, run by the United Way... A fact noted in deference of the Red Cross controversy surrounding the original fundraiser.

November 9, 2001 - MSNBC reports among the rock memorabilia at the Hard Rock Hotal in Las Vegas lies some of Mariah's clothing which spectators claim must of been altered. Many people claimed that Mariah wasn't skinny enough to fit into the clothing and that it reminded them of her Glitter promo which was also altered. A spokesman for the hotel assured that Mariah's clothes came in a variety of sizes and the ones on display came from one of her 'skinny' phases.

November 7, 2001 - TheSmokingGun.com has several letters that were sent to Mariah Carey in the early 90s along with accompanying photos from fans that ranged from little kids, prisoners, soldiers stationed overseas, and horny guys. The letters were discarded and found in 2000 and have since been turned over to TSG. Check them out here.

November 7, 2001 - Brad Pitt talks about seeking therapy in the new issue of Vanity Fair and told the interviewer Peter Biskind, "I've thought about pulling a Mariah Carey." When asked what he means by that, Pitt says: "I was just joking."

November 3, 2001 - People reports Mariah Carey's makeup artist pal Billy Brasfield says Carey and her ex-husband Tommy Mottola are settling their differences, "She and Tommy are talking . . . They're friends. He has been really, really supportive." Brasfield adds the two "have had some really great conversations (and) have resolved some residual things that are giving her more peace."

November 3, 2001 - The Enquirer's Mike Walker reports Mariah Carey has demanded when she does a guest appearance on ''Ally McBeal'' that the show revolves around her. The producer of the show says that won't happen though.

November 2, 2001 - E! Online's Ted Casablanca talked to someone on the set of Ally McBeal who revealed Mariah Carey was was "lovely, gracious, funny and sweet. Anyone who was not a fan before was won over by the end of the shoot." As for any diva like behavior, the insider explained, "Well, she and her people did complain about all the food--just like real crew members."

November 1, 2001 - The Las Vegas Review Journal reports Mariah Carey spent time after the Radio Music Awards on Friday to hit local roller coasters Manhattan Express, Big Shot, and the High Roller with her two bodyguards.
